However I think this thread needs a naughty step for one poster earlier on in the thread. Plus a system where we have an automatic cut off of how many negative interactions two posters can have with each other. Frankly it is not healthy for anyone after a point.

Just to say as some posters here obviously realise if tried it before. I don't use private messages. I believe that everything should be open and out there. As you can probably tell if you have noticed me on other threads having little chats with people. It is just my own way not to use private messages and I don't judge anyone else doing it plus realise sometimes it can be necessary.

@setsu if someone has made an incorrect guess about something, it's not unusual to attempt to clarify that with the person, and the site does have a private message system which seems to be used reasonably frequently by people across the site. Whether someone chooses to read a message is up to them. If you have an issue with the site having a private message system, I suggest taking that up with the site's admin.

Well if young people have been reading this type of rewrite of facts about what the Intifardas were then no wonder they are calling for a global intifada on the streets of London at protests. Seriously this lot of very far left fuckwits are dangerous. I get it they support Gaza but plenty of people manage to do that without promoting the idea of more intifada. These people are the opposite of the anti war stuff they pretend to support.

Plus what is it with their love of the word Zionism

A Zionist is literally a person that thinks Israel has the right to exsist and Jewish people should be also have the right to self determine like everyone else. That is basic Zionism. Nothing nasty or sneaky. There are different types of Zionism but these people are not being specific.

Therefore they are basically referring to most the world Jews like we all are Israeli or something to do with the Israeli government most the time they use the word. I can't think a single other group of people that have to put up with that type of racism from people that say they are anti racist.

Some mumsnet users are guilty of this too. I have no idea if the just write Zionist because they are too lazy to be specific or don't understand what the word means or don't believe Jewish people should self determine or don't believe Israel should exsist or just being racist. Whatever the reason I pretty much just checkout and don't take the user very seriously once they say Zionist or Zionism in a post because they are majority of the time using the word in the wrong context or have not been specific about what type of Zionism.

I think part of the problem with the terms Zionism and Zionist is that they've been co-opted as shorthand for a particular type of approach and philosophy, so people use them in that way without considering what they actually mean and how that might feel to other people.

I really think people need better education about diversity of faith and culture, to put poorly written and prejudiced rags in the bin where they belong, and to stop getting their history and politics lessons from bloody Tiktok and Instagram.
