My final post.
i am 55 years old, average education, 1 o level 3 CSE and 3 level 3 equal qualifications. But thanks to fate I have met some amazing people.
Like i said I met Gerry Adams and John Hume but I then worked with 2 ex British soldiers who served in Ulster in the troubles and I also knew 2 police officers who where either ex RUC or had been in Northern Ireland. All where decent humans who had different takes, but in the end peace came.
Because of my job I met a member of the Mengele family, yes his great uncle was the infamous Dr Death, he was delightful (I didn't know then he was related) and later in life as a governor of my kids village primary I helped arrange 4 different holocaust survivor's (3 Jewish and 1 Roma) to talk to the children plus 2 of them also came and spoke to my lad's rugby league team, all where amazing humans. I asked them privately about their feelings about my meeting with Mr Mengele and they said it was mixed. I won't say anymore because it was private conservation
I do know once thing, if Russian is wrong, then so is Israel. If all you Israeli supporters only want a safe and free Israel, you are going to be sadly wrong and totally heart broken, as the last 3 months has made the next 2 generations of Hamas radicals in front of our faces.
Rev Munther Isaac said " Gaza today has become the moral compass of the world, Gaza was hell before October 7th and the world was silent. should we be surprised that they are silent now? If you are not appalled by what is happening in Gaza, if you are not shaken to your core, there is something wrong with your humanity. And if we as Christians are not outraged by genocide, by the weaponisation of the Bible to justify it, there is something wrong with our Christian witness and we are compromising the credibility of our Gospel message. If you fail to call this a genocide that is on you. It is a sin and a darkness you willingly embrace
In our pain, anguish and lament, we have searched for God and found him under the rubble in Gaza. Jesus became the victim of the very same violence of the Empire. He was tortured. Crucified. He bled out as others watched. He was killed and cried out in pain: MY GOD WHERE ARE YOU? In Gaza today, God is under the rubble
And in this Christmas season,as we search for Jesus. he is to found not on the side of Rome, but our side of wall _ in a cave, with a simple family. Vulnerable. Barely and miraculously surviving a massacre. among a refugee family. This is where Jesus is found
When we glorify pride and richness, Jesus is under the rubble.when we rely on power, might and weapons, Jesus is under the rubble. When we justify, rationalise and theologize the bombing of children, Jesus is under the rubble.
This is his manger. He is at home with the marginalized, the suffering, the oppressed and the displaced. This is his manger. It's a manger that is about resilience. The resilience of Jesus is in his meekness, weakness and vulnerability. The majesty of the incarnation lies in its solidarity with marginalized.
It's resilient because this very same child rose up from the midst of pain, destruction, darkness and death to challenge empires, to speak truth to power and deliver an everlasting victory over death and darkness. I was in the United States just after Thanksgiving ans I was amazed at the amount of Christmas decorations and lights and all the commercial goods. I COULDN'T HELP BUT THINK: THEY SING ABOUT THE PRINCE OF PEACE IN OUR LAND WHILE THEY PLAYING THE DRUM OF WAR IN OUR LAND.
This is our message to the world today. It is a gospel message, a true and authentic Christmas message, about God who did not stay silent but sent his Word, and his Word is Jesus, born among the occupied and marginalized. He is in solidarity with us in our pain and Brokenness"
There is more like
"To our European friends, I never ever want to hear you lecture us on human rights or international law again. And I mean this. We are not white I guess, it does not apply to us according to your logic. In this war, many Christians and the Western World made sure the Empire has the thelogy needed. It is thus self-defence,we were told and I continue to ask, how was the killing of 9000 children self defence? How was the displacement of 1.9 million Palestinians self defence?"
or maybe
" In the shadow of the Empire, they turned the coloniser into the victim and the colonised into the aggressor. have we forgotten? Have we forgotten that the state they talk off, is a state that was built on the ruins of the towns and villages of those very same Gazans. Have they forgot that? We are outraged by the complicity of the church. Let it be clear friends. silence is complicity and empty calls for peace without a ceasefire and end to occupation and the shallow words of empathy without direct action, all under the banner of complicity"
So sorry if I have upset so many of you, but the SWP report linked earlier is the closest press report to anyone Rev Isaac said or requested from his fellow Christians and decent human beings.
So I will take all your insults and attacks and after spending the 1st 6 weeks emailing my MP (Tory but admitted I had raised numerous correct points) and all party leaders, I fell silent in despair, but if by sticking my head up to be shot at by the Empire, Rev Isaac mentions leads to readers of this thread seeing his words then so be it.
Please watch it on X(twitter) or Youtube it is about 18 minutes in total and made my family cry.
I would rather stand at the side of, and die defending, the Reverend Munther Isaac then be on the side most of this threads posters and the Western World and governments. If that makes me Anti-Semitic or a groomed terrorist well so be it, i will be happy to explain to my maker when the grim reaper knocks.
Good night,
Happy new year.
It won't be in Gaza or the West Bank, remember that as you all get drunk and congratulate yourselves tonight, 2024 could be the most dangerous year for us all since 1938/9
