All things considered, this is the worst thing I’ve ever read (and I’ve studied a lot of history).

Seriously, if you are a survivor of SA it’s probably best you do not read this article.

Genocide is what Hamas tried to perpetuate on October 7. Genocide is part of the Hamas founding charter. Israel did not start this war. Israel is not the side perpetuating countless war crimes. I can’t believe the darvo I read on Mumsnet in relation to this war.

And I have spoken out against Islamophobia, and the actions of Israel. Not surprised you haven’t seen that either because apparently you only read what fits your preconceived bias.

The reports are horrible, it is devastating to think about what the girls and women went through. The silence from the UN for 80+ days is disgusting though unsurprising considering multiple antisemites sit at the top echelons.

Thank you for that post, it is very telling isn't it and Israel have been dealing with this attitude towards it from way before the pogrom. Yet people wonder why it doesn't trust the UN or is bothered by how the world views it anymore.

VisitationRights, genocide is not killing 1200 people in a one off attack, nor a former charter by a terrorist organisation with limited power. The right wing government that Israeli voted in that has declared there will be no two state solution that is currently destroying Gaza , murdering thousands of civilians. Intent on forced ethnic clensing. Making their small piece of land inhabitable. They have unlimited military supplies. This is genocide.

I can imagine because Giraffe wasn't on the thread when people posted those things but once she was she saw they were addressed

The other posted I imagine is like most the rest of us and can't be arsed with people coming on a thread set up to talk about a set topic and whatabouting it because they don't like people talking about that topic, as it doesn't suit their own narrative of everything that has happened

Redslodges I don’t know any Palestinians. The Jewish people I have met have been lovely. I just can’t bare what is happening in Palestine. My children are half Arab, looking at the pictures coming in it could be my children under the rubble.

I read your link - the reporting of these awful unforgivable events will stick in my mind, as have the other reports I've read of the attacks on that day. They are inexcusable and beyond anything imaginable.

But where does this leave me? I am equally as upset by the images and descriptions of civilian suffering in Palestine. Lives destroyed and young children wiped out as their lives are barely beginning. I do not believe that every single Palestinian person is a Hamas supporter or is hiding a Hamas recruit.

I am appalled by the atrocities committed against Israelis on 7 October but also appalled by attacks on Palestinian civilians especially children.
Does that make me a Hamas supporter? I was disgusted to be accused of this recently because I could not agree that every Palestinian deserved to die.

I pray for peace which I also realise is an impossibility.
