Still here, still thinking of them.. and their families.

Hostage parents have finished speaking, and they are building up to saying the shema prayer at 530 (Israel time) in unity with Jews around the world

Um-shmum.

The resolution calls for release of hostages. I was hoping for progress. Then after listening to the Hamas spokesman I was disappointed.

Hamas never fail to disappoint.

According to Twitter, Hamas have rejected Israel's ceasefire offer based upon exchanging 40 hostages for 700 Palestinian prisoners.

The news here is mainly saying the hostage deal which was looking very promising fell apart hours after the UN resolution was passed, because after US abstained, Hamas now have renewed hopes of being able to increase international pressure to get a ceasefire WITHOUT releasing the hostages.

My opinion: this was a serious miscalculation from the US. Hamas are now emboldened by this to hold to demands that are red lines for Israel, making a ceasefire even more unlikely, deepening the Gazan crisis. Israel are less likely to listen to US about Rafa etc after feeling they have been stabbed in the back with the UN resolution.

meanwhile rockets are still being sent from Gaza and Hezbollah. The photo I attached are children up north on the Jewish holiday of Purim two days ago, under fire.

Not just hamas.

I was hopeful that the vote yesterday might lead to release and start of peace. Im always hopeful. A ceasefire without release of hostages and hamas still in charge isn't going to work.

I feel for all the hostage families but some really hit hard. The Argamani family is one.
