Has nobody on this thread actually read the Hamas charter? Here's a couple of choice quotes -

"Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it"
"The Day of Judgment will not come about until Moslems fight Jews and kill them. Then, the Jews will hide behind rocks and trees, and the rocks and trees will cry out: 'O Moslem, there is a Jew hiding behind me, come and kill him"

And you wonder why Israel is being so ruthless? Educate yourselves.

mostblobs · 09/12/2023 17:10

@Jonismorf Nobody is saying Hamas aren't bad. But the Israeli govt are putting out genocidal statements about Palestinians all the time. Just as awful. Many documented over these threads.

Anyway this thread is for documenting IDF racism and torture, so am keen not to get derailed.

Those quotes aren't in the Hamas charter.

As far as I see this is the only reference to Jews:

Hamas affirms that its conflict is with the Zionist project not with the Jews because of their religion. Hamas does not wage a struggle against the Jews because they are Jewish but wages a struggle against the Zionists who occupy Palestine. Yet, it is the Zionists who constantly identify Judaism and the Jews with their own colonial project and illegal entity.

But nobody who is an expert in military strategy / counter-terrorism thinks that this approach will destroy Hamas. It may weaken it and push it underground, but "scorched earth" strategies of this type will not destroy terrorist organisations as they are based on ideology, not just firepower. So all these civilians are dying in vain - targetted counter-terrorism along with international involvement and political strategy would be much more likely to produce the required result and a chance of long-term peace.

Exactly, this is what all the security and CT analysts are saying. It's going to do much more harm for everyone than good. But I think we have gone beyond 'eradicating Hamas' now? Even the US are trying to tell Israel to rein it in.

jammysocks · 09/12/2023 19:38

Not quite for the thread title. But adding it as I have posted to another thread.

https://www.france24.com/en/live-news/20231206-un-seeks-israel-access-for-hamas-sexual-violence-investigation

Israel ignoring UNs offer to investigate the rapes by hamas so they can be investigated and documented accordingly.

I think if israel really wanted or cared about UN backing they would allow this. But they are point blank ignoring it.

UN seeks Israel access for Hamas sexual violence investigation

The UN rights chief voiced deep concern on Wednesday over allegations of sexual violence by Hamas militants during their October 7 attack, calling on Israel to allow his team in to investigate.

Apparently the reason the men where all stripped of their clothing is because it is the middle East and its hot!

Excuses are getting worse

I’ve seen a video today that one of these men had a weapon to justify why this happened and say “see We told you so they were terrorists”.

what I don’t understand is if they had weapons .. why did they made them stripped off their clothes first rather than remove the weapons first. Sure the weapon are more dangerous than the clothes

the gaslighting beggars belief. It is winter in the Middle East and those in Gaza are feeling the cold weather and rain. Especially given their lack of electricity, food, shelter and water. To get away with this kind of gaslighting you have to be pretty confident you can rely on the ignorance and stupidity of your interviewers. I’d like someone to strip this criminal, blindfold him in the cold and see how he’d like being told “ it’s not the end of the world”.

There were many detainees, and few IDF in these pictures. To search a clothed person thoroughly, in the minimal amount of time, you have to strip them. A weapon can be a thin stiletto type blade, a sliver of glass, even a long nail and these can be hidden in seams of clothing. Any one of these weapons can rip the jugular open in a second.

The video shows a big gun … so not something you can hide as easily and how do you hide it when you’re naked?

ps. I can also see he was asked to do the video of handing the gun twice (it’s easy to spot it as the guns are in different hands in each video and the audio is different).

She was 80 years old and was shot by the IDF on December 7th.

Video shows her chatting and laughing happy with other Palestinians in the hospital.

The original video has been deleted apparently

jammysocks · 09/12/2023 23:16

I saw the original video. They made one man walk and carry a large gun and place it down to show the world they had weapons. Not sure where he kept it though!!!!!!

I haven't looked at all the links but I saw those new images of the men come out
It's not only social media users that have pointed out the discrepancies but also tbe BBC have questioned on how authentic they are and that they could have been staged. This is what they bad to say

Parkingt111 · 10/12/2023 08:34

For the first time, the images show a man obeying instructions to lay down a weapon. But the existence of two versions of the same scene have raised questions about its authenticity.

  • In one version, the man, dressed only in shorts and sandals, holds a rifle aloft in his right hand and a magazine in his left. He places both down on a rubbish-strewn pavement, next to another discarded weapon
  • But in a second version, the same man appears with the rifle in his left hand and the magazine in his right
In both versions, dozens of other men are seen standing across the road, stripped to their shorts, many of them with their arms aloft. They appear to be standing in front of a UN school in Beit Lahiya, north of the Jabaliya refugee camp. It’s not clear why two versions of the same video were filmed - the BBC has approached the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) for comment. But it does suggest that troops may have staged the scene to drive home the message that Palestinian gunmen are surrendering - something Israeli officials have claimed.
mostblobs · 10/12/2023 09:30

@Parkingt111 as a comment on Reddit said, why the hell would they make them strip before asking them to drop their weapons. They couldn't strip naked while holding weapons. They would have to strip then be allowed to hold the weapons again. A complete sham and clear propaganda setup.

Some people point out that it could be another gun. But when leaving it on the floor there is only 1 gun there in both scenarios. If they were different guns then the first time there would be a gun and the second time two.

also , some people are pointing out (and I’m unsure about this as I don’t talk the language) that the idf person shouts “walk wirh the gun I’ve provided you”

finally , the account that first posted about this on Twitter has deleted the tweet. So to me it all sounds like propaganda from Israel trying to proof they were Hamas members.

and lastly this is just my personal opinion/ thinking out loud … are you allowed to have a gun for self defence in Gaza? We’ve seen settlers with weapons and nothing has happened. Can’t Gaza people have their own as well and not mean they belong to Hamas ?

Parkingt111 · 10/12/2023 09:33

@mostblobs yes that is true
So normally social media pick up these points straight away but since the start of the war It has been interesting to see these points challenged increasingly on MSM
There has been many times when Israeli officials have said blatant lies to reporters and I don't think they like being lied to which is why they keep calling it out now
