Conflict in the Middle East
FoodCentre · 29/11/2023 20:24

It's not massively unusual to care more or less about one group as pp said, but that doesn't make it good.

To be more sensitive to one, is different to saying you care less about Palestinians.

All it signifies, by saying you care more, is that you care less. Because why do you really need to broadcast the fact that you care less? Hm.

Of course @Locknkey’s post is relevant, you’re discussing babies affected by the conflict are you not? 🤔

Kfir is a beautiful name btw. Sad to hear about him.

Primarina · 29/11/2023 20:27

Stomacharmeleon · 29/11/2023 18:49

@Locknkey the thread is about a specific child.
Stop posting conspiracy theories and rants on a thread about a specific child.
And you have no idea how people think or feel.

Conspiracy theories?! If times were not so dark I would laugh.

Please, open your eyes.

Hamas say they were killed in an airstrike and therefore everyone assumes it's true.

They're terrorists. Why are people trusting everything anything they say? The other day they were saying the Bibas family are being held in Khan Younis. There have been no air strikes in days. Now they're dead from an air strike.

How terribly convenient for Hamas…

I don't understand what is convenient about it.

I can't understand why anyone believes a word either 'side' say. And the horrific callous disregard for life on both sides means they're both evil. They're all killing babies, they're all imprisoning children. As far as I'm concerned they're all liars who are the enemies of women, children and non-combatants.

Cheering one murdering arsehole isn't better than cheering another.

Where is the outrage that Thailand only cares about the Thai hostages?

Thailand can only negotiate Thai hostages. But no, maybe you've cracked it... all we needed this whole time was Thai officials to stop the war.

Also, it's normal to be more sensitive to some people (that we relate to) but they should all be cared about the same. No idea why anyone feels the need to openly state they care less about one group. Imagine a Palestinian/Muslim reading that.

I’m not commenting on the rest of the discussion but can we pleaaaaaseee stop lumping ‘Muslims’ into this conflict as if it’s some specific war between Jews and Muslims ?

Palestinians are Christian and Muslim (they are not exclusively Muslim) and included Jews at one point too, though I’ll note no longer. To suggest ‘Muslims’ would feel as equally concerned as Palestinians may or may not be the case…but it’s certainly strange to me that we keep talking about Palestinians as ‘Muslims’ or including Muslims in general to this discussion, when the primary identity of those affected in this war is their nationality and that is the whole struggle here…

At this point religion is irrelevant, we’re talking about nations 🩷

Because humans are messy and unpredictable. Babies cry, the mother was probably crying as well, they need food and nappies, they are troublesome.

Maybe the hostage takers thought it would be easer and then they counted;t manage.

Parkingt111 · 29/11/2023 21:25

I am hoping and praying it's not true
No baby regardless of where they are from deserve this
Can I just remind that it's not been confirmed by the family and previously Hamas said a hostage was dead who has since been released

The family have also released a statement, acknowledging the claims.
"Our family has learned of Hamas's latest claims," they said via the Hostages and Missing Persons Families Forum.
"We are waiting for the information to be confirmed and hopefully refuted by military officials."
We'll bring you more as soon as we get it.

I suppose I count as having intimate involvement, but I still can't see Palestinian children's lives as being worth more than Israeli children.
I still don't understand that mindset. I do agree that it doesn't appear to be the norm, thankfully, at least as I've seen here in the UK.

I actually feel sick reading this.

And its part of the reason I don't participate in these threads anymore.

I can't believe people actually think like this. And I'm glad most of the people in the UK don't as far as I've seen.

@Pennina I think it's a combination of a lot of things but they have obviously been squeezed over baby kfir hence the statement.

Considering some posters on here assume you can't fart in Gaza without asking Hamas' permission let's assume they knew about it and have sat on the info.

Like the not allowing the Red Cross in. Depriving hostages of their medications. Separating mums and children.

Cruel, barbaric and psychotic behaviours.

Not nearly as cruel, barbaric and psychotic as the Israeli government. It’s really become a race to the bottom.

headstone · 29/11/2023 22:00

So sad I really hoped him and his mum and brother would survive when I saw the kidnap. My heart goes out to all the children killed in this senseless conflict.

Chipsatsunset · 29/11/2023 22:00

When you say they are your family what do you mean?

If you notice, a lot of Muslim people refer to one another as brother/sister. They regard fellow Muslims as their family. This is the same for many Jewish people too.

stormy4319trevor · 29/11/2023 22:06

@Chipsatsunset I'm not Muslim, but have been called sister by people who are?

Stomacharmeleon · 29/11/2023 22:07

@stormy4319trevor see, as is my right, I completely disagree with you.

Stomacharmeleon · 29/11/2023 22:07

@stormy4319trevor sorry that wasn't
Meant did you. Apologies

stormy4319trevor · 29/11/2023 22:08

Actually, I've been called sister by people of Afro -Caribbean origin as well. I thought it was just a friendly gesture from some cultures.

stormy4319trevor · 29/11/2023 22:09

@Stomacharmeleon No worries

ChalkWitch · 29/11/2023 22:10

Were Kfir, Ariel and Shiri Bibas the only hostages claimed to be ‘transferred’ to PIJ?

Chaitales · 29/11/2023 22:15

I hope it isn't true. Thinking of baby kfir and his family who must be so worried. I just saw another thread where a mum felt so guilty for accidentally clipping her newborns finger and my mind immediately went to all these mothers who haven't seen their children for days and don't know where they are and how they are. I hope the babies are reunited in good health and care to their parents

I don’t think so. There was a lady and a young boy that were filmed in a video that were with pij I believe and she was found dead few days ago.

I might be wrong but I think the video was from pij
