Elon Musk - what’s his plan?

Having been accused of antisemitism, Elon, the free-speech champion, spent today in the company of Netanyahu watching videos of Hamas atrocities and hearing about Netanyahu’s vision for the Middle East.
I have (I thought) a lot of respect for Elon. Does he have a plan for world peace? Did the US ask him to intervene? (as clearly, despite being “anti-Semitic”, he has the ear of Netanyahu).
Or is he simply bowing to the consumer and trying to keep his numbers up on X? I hope not, but what are peoples’ views?

Elon Musk is one of the most powerful individuals in the world and he’s unaccountable.

His goal is to make the human race interplanetary- so humanity is not a “single planet species”. Mars is the first stop to achieve this and money and power are the means. Power includes control of communications (eg Twitter, denigrating traditional media companies) and narratives.

Musk is a self declared “free speech absolutist”. He’s also been described as a “tech fascist” in the true sense of that word.

One example of his unchecked global power is that Elon Musk is the individual who has had most influence over the direction of the Ukraine war. With Starlink, he provides internet to the Ukrainian State and Army and can switch it off at will (as he did in Crimea - a decision that went in Russia’s favour). It’s argued that Zelenskyy wouldn’t be in power without Starlink, without Musk. He’s unreliable, and could easily start leaning towards decisions that are more likely to lead to Russia winning the war. He’s said he doesn’t want to indefinitely fund Ukraine / provide them with Starlink. This could easily swing the war in Russia’s favour. Yet when the worlds most powerful governments meet to discuss geopolitics, wars, peace, he’s not at the table. He’s not in the G7, nor the UN, nor Five Eyes. He’s unaccountable and uncontrollable. It’s scary.

Yes, I think you’re right. I had thought he was someone who was using his high intelligence to be a sort of mediator, coming at things from
angles people hadn’t thought of before, for the greater good.

But you’re right, he’s on his own planet really. Unpredictable and hazardous.

So, Elon’s words in Israel were:
Kill those who insist on murdering civilians,
and
change the education so a new generation of murderers is not trained to be murderers
and
increase prosperity in the region.

All while his Israeli interviewer nods and nods enthusiastically.

It’s disappointing, except that I note that Elon does not specify which murderers he is talking about.

He’s, quite simply, the aerospace industry’s latest and greatest revolutionary. A man of our time. There’s always one! Take that as you find it. I’m certainly not a fan of this industry because it is the engine that perpetuates the planet’s biggest money maker: War. And although I have no solid opinion of Elon Musk, I don’t think he’s dangerous. There are worse. For example, Bibi’s cabinet of hawks is undeniably scary.

Back to Elon Musk: He’s selling Starlink for the purpose of war (not only this, of course) in a technological age where combat strategies are quickly changing and evolving.

Israeli intelligence relied too heavily on AI without enough human input to make it as intelligent as they needed it to be, simply put. Whoops! Then, Hamas took their opportunity. Not quite so basic but that’s part of this tragedy’s backstory. It’s a story as old as time, without the tech angle. Israel got complacent, rested on its laurels, and woke up to the very tragic massacre they’d trusted AI intelligence (too much) to protect Israeli citizens from. Epic fail for Bibi.

War won’t go away and military might will never stop being the great ambition sought and/or achieved by countries everywhere on this planet.
And where there’s war, there are carpetbaggers and conmen. Elon Musk may be both or neither of those things.

I imagine on his head he thinks of himself as a great diplomat who can walk in there, say a few words and songle handedly end a decades old conflict. And his fan boys like OP will lap it all up.

He's out of his depth with diplomatic and moral issues. Like many of his generation who developed their career in Silicon Valley he's a beneficiary of circumstance coupled with an unrelenting work ethic to keep building. Now his products have such far reaching influence it's time he handed over the reins. Won't happen though as he also has an enormous ego/chip on his shoulder.

Where did I say I didn’t think he was anti semitic? The point of my OP was that I don’t know what he is or isn’t.

I have no idea how to answer your question which i feel is irrelevant to my OP. Do you mean all Jewish people or just some of them? How would I go about finding this out?

I don’t know if he’s intelligent or not, but surely if he jas even little bit of critical thinking, there is no way he actually believed Israel’s lies and propaganda.

There are lots of different forms of intelligence. He seems fairly limited to me, albeit in a world where his main intelligence seems to be monetised and valued more than emotional intelligence. Which is why he is successful

Putting anti-Semitic in scare quotes kind of implies you think he isn't.

He said post that claims Jewish communities are pushing hatred against white people and now hordes or minorities are flooding the country. Essentially, the age old great replacement theory. Not irrelevant at all since you seem to think he's not anti-Semitic despite apparently being completely unaware of the reason behind these accusations even though it's been mentioned on this thread.

I saw a small snippet of him being interviewed and saying that Israeli action in Gaza right now was likely to result in many new recruits to Hamas. I haven't seen how he has been Antisemitic, if anyone can link.

Is Elon really high achieving and intelligent?

He was helped to making his Tesla fortune by 1: being a millionaire already and 2: a lot of engineers were really keen to build an electric car

Similarly with his space program. It's rubbish until NASA basically are told they need to involve private enterprise and then suddenly his budget goes up and up until the point you think - is this company just NASA with a different badge?

There was a documentary about him on iPlayer, it may still be there. You can see how much effort other people in his businesses were putting in to just managing him so he didn't fuck things up.

I would imagine he has quite poor interpersonal skills and coping skills in life and so his money/background got him the power he needed and the intelligence he does have was harnessed and channelled by others in his life really.

He went to entirely middling Canadian and US universities, and took 7 years to graduate with entirely average grades. He was given an emerald mine and millions of dollars by his dad. He used this to invest in PayPal. Which was then bought out by eBay, making his fortune. So far, same as Donald Trump, who nobody thinks is a genius.

He has surrounded himself by very clever software and robotics engineers to do the actual Tesla/SpaceX work. He doesn’t do the engineering himself. I’m not saying he’s stupid, but I haven’t seen anything to support the myth that he and his fanboys perpetuate, that he is some kind of Tony Stark-style super-genius with an IQ of 180 or whatever he reckons it is.

I thought a basic tenant of capitalism is that you can choose who you do business with? Or an I wrong about that?

Seems like Elon is crying victim because many companies don't want to be associated with him or his product.
