Conflict in the Middle East

Elon Musk - what’s his plan?

Thereissomelight · 27/11/2023 23:13

Having been accused of antisemitism, Elon, the free-speech champion, spent today in the company of Netanyahu watching videos of Hamas atrocities and hearing about Netanyahu’s vision for the Middle East.
I have (I thought) a lot of respect for Elon. Does he have a plan for world peace? Did the US ask him to intervene? (as clearly, despite being “anti-Semitic”, he has the ear of Netanyahu).
Or is he simply bowing to the consumer and trying to keep his numbers up on X? I hope not, but what are peoples’ views?

There are quite a lot of signs that he is essentially a white supremacist.

He believes that the world is underpopulated - in the sense that there are not enough white babies being born. He has apparently impregnated at least 10 female employees himself to do his bit for the cause.

I suspect his visit to Israel is a smoke screen to blur the clear evidence that he is in fact extremely anti-Semitic, and racist in general.

Rightwing personalities use X to bring antisemitic theories to light in US

Experts say figures like Elon Musk and Tucker Carlson bringing ‘great replacement’ theory mainstream signals growing extremism

think that’s the right answer. He’s refused to support Gaza in the past when they didn’t have internet connection and now is saying he’ll do it if Israel tells him to do it. So if he’s being accused of antisemitism then probably he’s trying to keep both sides happy so he makes more cash

Xmaswomble · 27/11/2023 23:26

A plan for world peace? Why would be? Hes just a narc

Thereissomelight · 27/11/2023 23:34

Ha, so three completely different answers.
He’s highly intelligent - for good or for ill. His motives are his own. I wonder if anything will come of this or it really is just a PR meeting for X.

I didn’t realise he was perceived as a white supremacist. I thought he was fairly equal opportunity free speech?

I don’t know much about him but I think he might be a cyborg from the year 3000.

Only joking obviously. He’s a very rich white man. What could possibly go wrong. Only joking not joking.

basculin · 28/11/2023 00:00

Not sure he's ever had a plan, he just does whatever stupid shit he feels like.

Although I'm not surprised that you don't think that saying Jewish people are all promoting hatred against whites is anti-Semitic.

flowerchild2000 · 28/11/2023 05:49

Why exactly do you have respect for him? And why would you think an engineer would be effective in war matters? Have you not been following his behaviors? He's just a rich idiot. Money doesn't make a person capable outside their profession. He's not even that great of an engineer either. It's amazing how blinding money can be.

Look at where he got his privilege from. He wasn't self made. Then look at all of his recent actions! He only promotes what promotes him, which is a rich white man. He's fucking dangerous.

It’s to do with Starlink. He’s got some of the best, most powerful tech on the planet. Elon Musk can’t be cancelled or alienated. His tech is too great an asset.

He’s just out there pounding pavement, hustling, selling shit, profiting off disaster. Same shit, different year.

Ohlalalalala · 28/11/2023 06:11

"It’s to do with Starlink. He’s got some of the best, most powerful tech on the planet. Elon Musk can’t be cancelled or alienated. His tech is too great an asset."

Exactly.

LynetteScavo · 28/11/2023 06:55

I don't trust Elon Musk further than I can grow him. I have very little respect for him. I have no idea what his plan is/isn't.

If I were a world leader I'd be damned sure I had a good relationship with him.

“I don't trust Elon Musk further than I can grow him. I have very little respect for him. I have no idea what his plan is/isn't.”

He doesn’t have a plan. He’s the dealer who’s currently got the best shit on the block. Simple as that. What he thinks doesn’t matter one bit. What he does is deliver what leaders want and need. World leaders don’t fight culture wars. They capitalise off them.

Ohlalalalala · 28/11/2023 07:23

From BBC

"The trip also saw an agreement reached over Mr Musk's satellite internet service, Starlink.
After Gaza experienced major internet disruption and outages as Israel intensified its military operations, Mr Musk had suggested giving Starlink to major aid organisations in the territory.
But Israel argued the tech would be used by Hamas.
Now an agreement has been reached that Starlink can only be used in Israel and Gaza with approval of the Israeli government. Israel's Communication Minister Shlomo Karhi said this understanding was "vital"."

The genociders got what they wanted.

Thereissomelight · 28/11/2023 07:44

I respected him because he is intelligent and a very very high achiever. I agree that no world leader wants to be on his wrong side but I saw him as being very politically independent.

I’m very disappointed by his deal with Israel over Starlink. I can’t fathom why he would do it and wondered if it was part of some greater plan to stop Israel from killing everyone in Gaza.
Maybe not.

He isn’t really. Only by certain radical left types who despise anyone who doesn’t adhere to their very specific “Social Justice” and “Critical Theorist” type belief systems.

There's nothing like watching the footage of a massacre to translate to your consumer base is there?
I wonder whether Musky is planning to ask Netty to become a sleeping partner in Twitter X.
Why would the Musk want to bear witness to atrocities, helping him form a holistic vantage point of the conflict?

GoodOldEmmaNess · 28/11/2023 08:00

A plan? Lol. Perhaps he has offered to send in a mini-submarine.

Thereissomelight · 28/11/2023 08:05

Israel’s government appears to have failed to protect its borders despite having received intelligence and receiving billions of dollars in US aid. Now it seems to be having difficulty flushing out Hamas without having to kill thousands and thousands of children. The IQ level there would hardly be one that would make Elon want to be their BFF or business partner. In addition they called him antisemitic.
And I don’t think Elon needs money. He’s capable of making vast amounts of it but I get the impression that’s a pleasant by-product of what really motivates him. (Which is ??)
I remain puzzled as to what is going on.
And maybe nothing is, except his ego.

Only if it comes with a signed t shirt by Musky.
Just what is he up to?

GoodOldEmmaNess · 28/11/2023 08:22

Mmmm, musky t-shirt.
Fits with my perception of Musk as some rank teen whose mother can't get him to leave his bedroom.

For liking an anti-Semitic post.

Since when has that stopped any billionaire making more?

MMBaranova · 28/11/2023 09:29

Sometimes he'll do something right, oftentimes debatable and sometimes wrong. He's odd and isn't going away.
