@Toothyfruity I don't understand it - why are they firing on a building they are already in control of and on the 5 doctors who they've judged Hamas-free

Amal hospital also coming under IDF fire

I guess they just enjoy being terrorists? There's no explanation for such depravity. They're an absolute joke and a disgrace of an "army".

Parkingt111 · 18/02/2024 10:12

@Efacsen the PRCS posted pictures of the third floor of Al Amal hospital after it came under Israeli artillery fire.
To think burnt and injured civilians who were first bombed are now facing further terror whilst trying to get some form of treatment

Mainly about Al Shifa [bombed front of hospital 3]

@Parkingt111 how truly awful attacking injured patients lying in their beds

WHO has evacuated 14 patients from Nasser - incl 3 ICU and 5 dialysis patients

PeasfullPerson · 19/02/2024 09:50

I’m amazed they have actually been able to evacuate anyone! Some positive news. Thanks for sharing!

Efacsen · 19/02/2024 10:10

Indeed and also amazed that they found somewhere to evacuate them to

OP posts:
PeasfullPerson · 19/02/2024 10:27

Do you know where they took them? Do you have a news source you can share?

Efacsen · 19/02/2024 10:39

The report was very brief and just said that they had been taken to 'hospitals in Khan Younis and Rafah' I'll look for it but only one sentence

At a guess I'd think that the ICU patients went to the European hosp in KY because it's closer and it's ICU was operational just a couple of days ago. And also guessing one of the 3 Rafah 'hospitals' is actually a dialysis unit [sorry can't remember it's name] so that would be the logical place

But I might be completely wrong

Further 18 injured patients evacuated from Nasser by PRCS- 'dozens' remain and subject to WHO negotiations

“Eighteen wounded individuals were evacuated and transferred to the field hospitals of the American and Indonesian field hospitals in Rafah governorate,” the group said.''

Thank you to the WHO and anyone involved in these evacuations. I wish they had somewhere safer to go.

Hospital in Rafah overcrowded with orphans, premature babies

Al-Helal Al-Emairati Maternity Hospital in Rafah is witnessing overcrowding of children who have become orphans as well as premature babies.

“We now have at least 70 to 80 cases per day in the hospital,” said Dr Ahmed al-Shaer, deputy head of the hospital’s nursery department, referring to the number of children brought in each day orphaned as a result of the war.

“One of them is an unknown child and we do not know the fate of his family, and people found him on a tree in the morning as a result of the shelling and brought him to the hospital.”

According to footage seen by Al Jazeera as well as several doctors’ statements, there are also the bodies of premature babies who died a few days ago, with the hospital administration unable to reach their families.

Doctors at the hospital have said they are facing overcrowding issues, and that there is a lack of equipment, oxygen and electricity.

I must say that the above report doesn't make a lot of sense to me wrt 70-80 orphans being brought to the hospital per day - there seems to be a piece of information missing

Apart from that it does describe how awful every hospital has become

Thanks for the updates
I have just read part of the WHO description of the state of Nasser hospital on sky

World Health Organisation staff have called the destruction inside Nasser hospital "indescribable".
They had to navigate through pitch-black corridors with flashlights to find patients against a backdrop of gunfire, WHO spokesman Tarik Jasarevic said.
There was no electricity or running water, and medical waste and rubbish were "creating a breeding ground for disease", a WHO report said.

Efacsen · 20/02/2024 15:14

Yes the BBC has actual film of the visit - why did they make them go at night if there's no electricity

OP posts:
Parkingt111 · 20/02/2024 15:51

@Efacsen I was thinking that. It might have been the only time they were given assurance of safe passage into the hospital as I believe they had been trying for awhile

Parkingt111 · 20/02/2024 19:00

Further strikes on Al Amal hospital

From the PRCS
🚨Urgent: Moments ago, Al-Amal Hospital was subjected to a new bombardment by the Israeli occupation artillery, resulting in significant damage to the hospital facilities, in addition to injuring 3 of the patients’ companions. This comes amidst a series of direct attacks on the hospital today.

That footage showing the destruction and aftermath of the IDF raid at Al Nasser was harrowing. I was surprised the BBC showed it.

A shelter housing Doctors without borders staff in Al mawasi was shelled
Atleast two members of their family have been killed! 😔
Doctors without borders always give co-ordinates of their staff dwelling. I hope this is investigated

That’s very sad. Nobody is safe.

Efacsen · 21/02/2024 10:40

Indeed

Tanks and bull-dozers seen arriving in Al Mawasi this morning too

Nothing safe about these so called 'safe areas'
