Not in the least bit surprised

Are you suggesting this was ketamine and tranquilizers/opiates given by Hamas so as to rape hostages?

It could be obviously, but I read that article and don’t remember it saying that even though it was about the horrors faced by the them at Hamas’s hands.

I only recall it was about drugging the hostages to keep them easy to control and quiet, and also the suffering caused to some hostages kept in the dark for days, and the terrible long term effects of this.

Sorry, my last post was responding to Xenia based on her mentioning Isis and Yazidi girls (who we all know
were taken as sex slaves).

”Xenia · Today 16:19”

“Absolutely terrible of Hamas (from a link above) “One of the girls was given ketamine for a few weeks,” she continued, referring to a powerful dissociative anesthetic known for giving the recipient a sense of detachment from their environment. “It’s unbelievable to do this to a child.”

“This does not surprise me as if you look at what ISIS did in their so called Islamic State to yazidi girls, held as slaves and worse - this is what we have to fight against - people like ISIS and Hamas who think this is okay”

I suspect many are dead and the bodies are just kept for bargaining tools.
Hamas leaders won't give up their power and vast money supply easily.

stomachameleon · 14/12/2023 09:55

@XRAYTHIS hence why they are reluctant to let the Red Cross in.

It makes me feel vaguely sick every time I read of a new dead hostage, just awful

Zoflorabore · 14/12/2023 15:01

I still keep thinking about the family I watched whose 18 yr old dd was murdered in their home in Nir Oz and the dad was taken hostage.
the interview was with the mum/wife and she was incredibly strong and brave, I think of them everyday.

His name is Tsachi Idan. I hope and pray he’s still alive.

His death ( in captivity ) was written about in the Times of Israel yesterday together with the news that Tal Chaimi, who was part of the rapid response Oct 7 was confirmed dead, killed in the massacre. It said it was believed the terrorists hold their bodies in Gaza.

It did not give details about how the Israeli authorities know which I wonder, especially as they have not got the bodies or do not know for sure Hamas has them.

I also wonder how it was Tal Chaimi died Oct 7 but Hamas might have taken his body into captivity? The terrorists looked so caught up in chaos both trying to capture living people and killing others.

It must be so very dreadful for their families both to hear this news and yet not even have their bodies.

They seem to have taken the bodies of several Israeli soldiers killed on 7th Oct into Gaza. Whether to ransom or as trophies, I don't know.

It must be unbearable for the families knowing the bodies are in Gaza.

Body of Elya Toledano (28) rescued yesterday from Gaza.

Im losing hope that more than a handful are still alive. After the pictures I saw of Saar Baruch, I worry that most have been murdered, and they’ve kept you a few to use as shields for Sinwar.

Indeed. They kept some for bargaining and others that were beaten or killed gradually turning up. Some were also taken by 'ordinary Palestinian men' and another terrorist group so when negotiating they didn't seem to know the whereabouts of all hostages.

Efacsen · 15/12/2023 08:54

And 2 more Sad

''The bodies of two more captives were recovered by Israeli forces inside Gaza and brought back to Israel, the military has said.

The army said it identified the two as Nick Beizer and Ron Sherman, two 19-year-old soldiers who were taken by Hamas fighters on October 7.''

EllaDisenchanted · 15/12/2023 10:56

Nick Beiser, job in the IDF was to send goods and aid into Gaza.

Parkingt111 · 15/12/2023 10:57

There was supposed to be a meeting yesterday in Israel with a senior member of the Red Cross in regards to the hostages. Does anyone know what transpired from there and if anything positive came out from there

Parkingt111 · 15/12/2023 11:02

I have seen images of 85 year old Yocheved Lifshitz who was one of the first to be released campaigning for the rest of the hostages. Its so upsetting to know that her husband is still being held.
Has there been any updates on him?

EllaDisenchanted · 15/12/2023 11:06

@Parkingt111 nothing happened. They won’t change their stance.

EllaDisenchanted · 15/12/2023 11:07

Also nothing.

Parkingt111 · 15/12/2023 11:07

I can't remember if it's been mentioned before but she said in an interview she met Yahya Sinwar in the tunnels and confronted him too! Incredibly brave woman.

EllaDisenchanted · 15/12/2023 11:10

I read that. She and her husband were part of a peace activist group who took sick Palestinians out of Gaza for medical treatment. She confronted him about this and said he should be ashamed of himself.

Parkingt111 · 15/12/2023 11:13

@EllaDisenchanted and he couldn't answer and just stayed quiet. A part of me hopes he would have been ashamed of himself atleast but I doubt he was
Makes me so angry! To do this to innocent people.

Good for her, brave lady.

He however is a sick twisted individual who has no shame. Otherwise he wouldn't instruct his evil followers and then hide away behind women and children like the cowardly individual he is.

EllaDisenchanted · 15/12/2023 11:48

I doubt he feels any shame at all 😔
Some of the biggest activists for peace were murdered or taken hostage . I was very moved by one of the eulogies for Vivian silver, by a Muslim lady she had worked closely with for peace, and it was clear she had lost someone very dear to her.
It’s a double blow for their families, to know that their relatives dedicated their lives to bringing peace between Gaza and Israel, but lost their lives to Hamas. They must feel so betrayed.

stomachameleon · 15/12/2023 12:02

@EllaDisenchanted I watched a piece on the instagram about one of the ladies in the kibbutz who was incinerated in her safe room. Massive peace activist. It was so heartbreaking. Channel 4 news spoke to her sons yesterday.

Awful, she was trying to improve relationships for all.
