Sky news have reported that one of the hostages Sa'ar Baruch has been killed during clashes in a rescue attempt

This hasn't been verified by the IDF yet

@Stomacharmeleon do you know If this has been confirmed?

EllaDisenchanted · 08/12/2023 12:04

Eitan Levi (53) another hostage confirmed not alive. hamas retaining his body.

Dror Kaplan (68) thought to be held hostage, has had his remains identified and is confirmed not alive. Archaeologists had to identify him from bones found.

nothing showing on any of my channels about Sahar Baruch.

See this is part of my confusion, because so much is coming out that is or isn’t true from either side. Maya’s feet are shown to be the “right” way round when she was released- so perhaps something is lost in translation but I am not sure this particular claim is true

EllaDisenchanted · 08/12/2023 13:06

The bones were the wrong way, that’s internal.

stomachameleon · 08/12/2023 13:15

@EllaDisenchanted that's awful.

Oh my gosh, how awful

Saar Baruch, one of the kibbutz hostages, has been killed. There is a video, that I won't share.

I've seen it. The injuries look like torture.

I can’t risk looking at twitter anymore. I’m following some Gazans on instagram and some threads on here and that’s it. It’s all so horrific .

That's an interesting article.

I must say from what I have seen and read I have been impressed to see how many Israelis have been so selfless in helping those in the community that have been affected.

Unfortunately yes. He's clearly been severely beaten.

That is an interesting article, and a sad one. It is no surprise that Israelis must feel very alone and abandoned by an international community that seems to largely wish to spit venom at them after they've endured their worst terrorist attack in history, and now have to rely on a highly unpopular PM to lead them through it.

Parkingt111 · 09/12/2023 09:11

The IDF have released a statement but it doesn't confirm the death of Saar Baruch

I haven't seen the video but the BBC have put a description of it and it sounds horrific.
The psychological impact it will have on his family and loves one's if they see it will last a life time and it is a sickening thing to do

stomachameleon · 09/12/2023 09:49

I don't think I want to see it.

StarbucksSmarterSister · 09/12/2023 14:37

I hope his family don't watch it.

Thank you very much for that article which gives detail and perspective about
very important unreported aspects of the plight of the hostages and their families, and the plight of the displaced Israelis; and about the historic political abandonment leaving the problems of this region to fester.

Hamas say he was killed in a failed rescue attempt by Israeli soldiers. So when did the broken jaw, broken hand, broken arm, eye gauged out beaten around the head and face, body injuries etc occur then. All that during a failed rescue attempt. Hamas are liars yet some believe everything they say.

I think the design of the dress could be better to show the name properly but brilliant idea

The dreadful Elon Musk was given a dog tag like that when he visited Israel the other day. He has been wearing it since and explaining it in interviews

Of course he is doing PR to try not to seem antisemitic after he cocked up on a twitter post and his advertisers fled because of advert placements near Jew hate posts

"Will Wear It Every Day Until...": Elon Musk On Receiving Dog Tag From Israeli Parent

Billionaire Elon Musk recently expressed support for Israel in the ongoing conflict with Hamas after receiving a symbolic dog tag from a father whose child was allegedly held by the Palestinian group in Gaza.

etmoiandme · 10/12/2023 01:12

Ah yes, the damage limitation he's had to do since that has been pretty funny.

ScrollingLeaves · 10/12/2023 23:10

Thank you. It is too difficult to know what to say, and unbearable to think of the hostages still being held.

I think they may be nearly starving now too. It sounded bad enough before judging by the released hostages’ accounts. Now Gazans are starting to starve to death the hostages’ food must be even less.

I don’t think the Israelis are thinking of them properly.
