Apparently people can't make comparison about things that are equivalents either now

Probably only if a Jewish thing is compared to something else at a guess

Depdawg · 30/11/2023 20:19

getting wrapped up in semantics =
more gaslighting.
Another great distraction technique.

Well yes

It seems standard practice to do that

Or distract in some other way if evidence of antisemitism is posted

Some people just can't help themselves it seems

I think the Daily Mail is an excellent paper in terms of keeping us up to date with news items - very quick reporting. I don't like some of the comments of readers on the articles. The DM is certainly very concerned with anti- Semitism hence its articles from Boris Johnson and articles about the unbridled growth in anti-Semitism.
It is doing a brilliant job in calling out the hate speech in the Pro Palestinian marches like "river to the sea", keffieyeh wearing, masks and placards, fireworks at police, climbing monuments, etc.

I salute the paper for bringing us the images - you can't argue with the images!

Oh please spare me.
This would be the Daily Mail of "Hurrah the Blackshirts" would it?
And Boris Johnson is a notorious charlatan who would embrace any passing cause for a cheap vote/pat on the back. A friend to no-one who will stand with no-one.
Thanks anyway with your hurrah for the Daily Mail - helps to set the radar on your comments.
The Mail is professionally produced for sure but has little interest in social peace. Either here or in the Middle East.

If they weren't happening there would be nothing to 'tarnish' surely.
There was nothing peaceful about what Happened in New York's

I wasn't aware that this march was about anything in New York. I thought it was about British Jews feeling unsafe in Britain/London.

The Met asks for help to identify five people following offences at recent protests.

Thanks for posting and keeping the thread on track. Best to ignore the derailers (or Harry Potter motor cars) especially when its the usual suspects.

You have only just now discovered the
Idea of relevant posts in threads?
Are you going to take that newly found knowledge with you, when you post around this board?
Look forward to seeing that in action. Can you give some tips to the tribe?
Incidentally, antisemitism is a global
thing.
I'm shocked you did not know that.

FordAnglia · 30/11/2023 21:26

Of course anti semitism is a global thing - it stinks.
But this thread is supposed to be about a march which was apparently organised to address British concerns about British Jews feeling unsafe, particularly in London.
Or is something else going on?

Depdawg · 30/11/2023 21:30

Yes, something else is going on.
Antisemitism in New York.

Stomacharmeleon · 30/11/2023 21:31

It's the time of the day again...

It was a march against anti-Semitism which sadly is global and universal.

Trulywonderful · 30/11/2023 21:37

So some people think that Jewish people in the UK should not look at events outside the UK

I mean Jew hate just stayed in one country during world war two didn't it. There were no signs in other countries of what was happening after all🙄

Trulywonderful · 30/11/2023 21:41

Stomacharmeleon · 30/11/2023 21:31

It's the time of the day again...

They put the kids to bed and then get bored

So come on mumsnet to harass Jewish people or argue about antisemitism in general apparently

Personally I would just watch netflix if that bored and definitely try a bit of self reflection if I found myself harassing an ethic minority group. However that is just me. Each to their own I guess.

Yeah, I think what's going on is that we're over 500 posts into the thread and so can perhaps widen the scope a little. Have you ever used an internet forum before?

Please start a new thread if you want to 'widen the scope'.

you mean widen the scope as in nattering about the territorial issues in the Middle east perhaps? For I fear that there is a certain evidence that the march may actually have somewhat widened the scope of the debate into that arena. Or wanted to. Unfortunately.

Let me repeat - antisemitism stinks.

noblegiraffe · 30/11/2023 21:52

No, I mean widening the scope such as mentioning that there were issues with antisemitism in New York as well as London.
