Why, despite irrefutable evidence of the horrors that are happening on an daily basis in Gaza, some people are still excusing/ agreeing with what the Israeli government and the IDF are doing?
I cannot comprehend it.

@Katharineblum well I don't think anybody let alone Hamas would have expected Israel not to react.

Unfortunately the issue many have is:
1.The way the war has been conducted with not enough care taken to minimise civilian casualties

  1. Weapons used in dense civilian areas that would cause widespread destruction rather than weapons that would be confined to a target.
  2. Bombing safe zones just a day after Israel asked the Palestinians to move there in the south (this was confirmed by BBC verify and continue to do
  3. The constant genocidal rhetoric that has been used time and time again by the Israeli government against the Gazans and Palestinians in general which further enforces that their aim is mass destruction
  4. To constantly impede life saving aid from coming into Gaza that has caused further deaths that were avoidable and which amounts to collective punishment
There are many other points but I will stop there.

All the above whilst knowing that the Gazans are trapped. They have no way to escape what is happening. They are caged in by land, air and sea

The above points are just to highlight why many are outraged by what is happening.

Yes I'm praying for all of this to end and for the day that a fair two state solution can be reached.
I pray for a day where the Palestinians finally have the right of self determination and all in the region can live in peace including Israel.

Genuine?

🙄🙄🙄🙄

are there not quite enough threads arguing the same thing??

Reallifelurker · 21/11/2023 17:16

Maybe they acted predictably and Hamas knew this response would cause so much worldwide condemnation in their favour.

Few (if any?) governments are condemning Israel though public opinion is not favourable. Whether that benefits Hamas I’m not sure.

If you object to this thread, don't read it! And yes, it is a genuine question. why are you questioning my integrity?

Agree. Genuinely, like OP, can't understand how people like Xenia cheer bombs, because, well, it's been done before so hey ho. Doesn't bother me.
This demonstrates just how low the level of the debate is on here.
Xenia has never 'cheered bombs', just put forward rounded pov. But posters like you can't tolerate dissent, can you?

I don’t understand the reference to WW2 - surely we hope that everyone has learnt from what happened then. My grandparents lived through the occupation but I don’t want other families in Gaza to know the same.
