Jeremy Corbyn on Piers Morgan

Just watched the trainwreck Jeremy Corbyn interview. I sometimes find it a bit annoying myself the way Piers talks over people when I want to hear what the guest has to say. However, surely Corbyn knows Piers' interview style? This is an experienced politician, and the question was very predictable. Had he not prepared an answer? Other guests manage the quick-fire style, still manage to get their point across and remain professional and confident - they don't just slump behind the table and sulk! Did he really think PM was going to say 'Oh, you're right! this interview style that's earned me millions is actually just bad journalism. I'll listen respectfully while you have your say and then you can ask me some questions'?

That interview with Starmer about Corbyn that I posted upthread that was deleted has now been posted again on twitter. No idea why they deleted the original.

If anyone ever watched Cobyn speak in the house or during an interview then you know he wasn't up to the job as PM anyway. Yes he can make a speech in public but he cannot field questions well. He is terrible at thinking on the spot and gets angry if challenged, so sulks or shouts nonsense phrases and pre written statements. His speeches in public are no doubt written in advance possibly by someone else and memorised.

As some people don't understand in words just how not a peace activist and how he has a fetish for terrorists, I shall explain in pictures. See it as a Jez themed PHSE lesson.

Most politicians you don't have to ask these questions about or have to investigate there iffyness in quite such am alarming way. However with Jez these things come up again and again because of what has already been proven. So when the evidence suggests this we the voters are not surprised in the least. Yet another reason why he was always going to lose any election. The voters even if they liked his policies don't trust him.

It is never ending with his public cock ups that show people who he is

Yet apparently people still think he lost the election because of a smear campaign. It wouldn't have mattered if there was one he lost because most people see this stuff and recoil from him.

Corbyn is just a reminder that far left are not that different to far right - there's so much in common and only very, very few differences.

noblegiraffe · 18/11/2023 14:25

Has any good ever come out of him making friends with all these undesirables?

Trulywonderful · 18/11/2023 14:26

More interesting people to have a meeting with or share a platform with. He hasn't ever been PM or on a serving government as a frontbencher. Therefore he has no reason to be near these people officially in any capacity. He isn't working on building a peace deal, to broker some kind of talks or to prevent a terrorist attack. He hasn't ever had a job doing that in a serving government.

I think they do have a fair few differences but yes a lot in common too

When the far left and the far right can touch hands behind the sofa we all have a problem

Queucumber · 18/11/2023 14:37

It is such a relief that he’ll never be a Labour MP again.

People have said over the years he makes these friends to help make peace. However I have never heard of a single action or friendship of his that has helped a peace process anywhere. Maybe there is something but I haven't come across it

The remarkable thing about that claim is that other than the Northern Ireland becoming more peaceful that had nothing to do with him at all. All the other issues he has been involved are still issues many years later.

When he worked for Iran mouth piece TV network he could have called them out on torture, executions and ethnic cleaning that happened during that period. However he took his pay check and kept his mouth shut. What an amazing peace activist that is into human rights, NOT.

lemmein · 18/11/2023 18:20

@Trulywonderful the majority of those articles are from 2018/19 - yep, there was no smear campaign at all.

Yes he's met with people who are/have terrorist links, no-one has denied that, including JC, that's my point. The key is his motivation for those relationships. For you it's simply because he 'loves terrorism' - bizarre!

etmoiandme · 18/11/2023 18:41

I don't think JC loves "terrorism" per se. But he has a very dogmatic and intractable anti-western worldview, which absolutely centres (((Zionists))) as the ultimate imperialist oppressors. Which is why he doesn't just tolerate terrorists, but welcomes them. And frankly he is in his frothing, pied piper element whenever tensions come to the fore in Israel and Palestine. Yet, so, so quiet on Assad, Putin, Iran and China though. It's a fucking massive ego trip for him any time Israel is at war because he can smugly assume his natural state of 'protestor' (he has never been a serious politician, unlike his idol Tony Benn).

100% @Trulywonderful

ProfessorPeppy · 18/11/2023 18:46

Corbyn NEVER tries to win hearts and minds. He just preaches to the choir in perpetuity. He has no interest in finding common ground with anyone apart from those who agree with him.

lemmein · 18/11/2023 18:52

You might've just missed it. The media generally doesn't report on anything that doesn't support the 'JC=bad' narrative.
