Documenting Israeli army racism and torture

Desertrose2023 · 15/11/2023 04:25

this thread is to document the racist, criminal and dehumanizing behaviour by the most “moral army in the world” both during its most recent bombardment of Gaza and across decades of military occupation in the West Bank.

to start, here is a video of Israeli soldiers chanting they will turn Gazans into Kebabs.

I note with interest that you are completely minimising it, as well as justifying it as part of a "war" when there was in fact a ceasefire in place.

What is with this view that there was a ceasefire in place because only Palestinians were being killed before 7/10? If killing Palestinians doesn't break a ceasefire then the same should be said for killing Israelis. Or do Palestinian lives not count to those 'there was a ceasefire in place' people?

Thanks for the thread OP. I follow quite a few Jewish influencers and these sickening posts are coming up in my for you page. I saw an Israeli wedding singer this morning singing about "death to Gaza and all Palestinians, all the land will be ours soon" and everyone clapping and cheering 😭

You mean like this

Come on @Brumbies, have you got a translation of what you posted or was it just to try to look superior?

It's Psalm 91 and the translation provided here leaves out key words which makes it difficult to comprehend.

There is a table on this wiki page which gives a line by line translation from Hebrew to English.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psalm_91#:~:text=He%20shall%20cover%20thee%20with,destruction%20that%20wasteth%20at%20noonday.

Parkingt111 · 15/11/2023 10:41

@feralunderclass I saw that too! At a wedding of all places. What a way to start a new chapter of your life, by promoting genocide

Thereissomelight · 15/11/2023 10:42

forthesakeofsanity · 15/11/2023 10:41

Or like this:

Good grief.

Parkingt111 · 15/11/2023 10:44

It's definitely not all Israeli citizens but the ones who already had such views on the Palestinians have become emboldened to openly declare it now, spurred on by factions of their own government
Open calls of genocide are met with cheers and laughter

Of course it's not all Israelis, many are protesting and calling the government out (mind you they are facing severe consequences).

Parkingt111 · 15/11/2023 10:52

@feralunderclass yes it's anyone who doesn't toe the expected line
You may have seen a video of a group of orthodox jews being beaten by the IDF quite aggressively for showing support for Palestine
It was disgusting to see

Thank you very much FOJN. It is very nice to have that clarity.

For Christians, Jews, and Muslims there is only one God so this invocation for protection should be for Palestinians and Jews alike.

@ScrollingLeaves
I was going to say, I’m sure this prayer or something very similar is being prayed by many Gazan families now, night after night.

Yes I've seen a video of that happen. The soldier was so aggressive. The orthodox Jewish man looked so frightened.
I read somewhere that Netanyahu wants to pass legislation to allow soldiers to fire live ammunition at protesters. How awful.

PurpleCrocs3 · 15/11/2023 11:14

Thank you for making this thread. I can't believe how much evidence there is of the IDF abusing the Palestinians and yet people still defend them.

For those predictably saying "what about Hamas???-

Why don't you go and start a thread with videos of Hamas abusing innocent civilians and children? Or maybe you can't as no such videos exist?

If Hamas are terrorists then so are the IDF.

Lovepeaceunderstanding · 15/11/2023 11:16

orangegato · 15/11/2023 07:07

Any of Hamas killing babies? No?

@orangegato , no they’re not interested in Jewish babies.

ChickHenLittle · 15/11/2023 11:19

Thanks @FOJN, that translation makes a lot more sense. 🙂

I think this may be the video I saw, a man wearing his tallit and other religious items (I'm not sure of all the correct names unfortunately), being very roughly shoved and pushed around by IDF soldiers, then they eventually push him into a building and close the door? From what I saw, the man was not threatening at all and looked quite scared and confused while he was being attacked by the soldier.

I saw the video of the idf beating the Jewish man speaking up against the atrocities. It was absolutely heart breaking. I honestly couldn’t stop thinking about it for days. The idf are just terrorists.

forthesakeofsanity · 15/11/2023 11:33

Lots of Jewish Israeli civilians protesting against the Israeli government and they were getting beaten by the idf too. Awful scenes and they call themselves a democracy. What a joke.

The scary thing is the IDF are just ordinary kids like yours and mine. God knows what's been done to their mental health if they can be so violent.

FOJN · 15/11/2023 11:34

I saw the footage of the Jewish man in the West Bank being attacked by an IDF soldier. It started with a soldier kicking another Jewish mans feet out from under him. I was struck by how frightened the other men in the group looked and despite being horrified and upset by the violence most did not try to protect or defend the man on the ground. It seemed to me that they knew nothing good would come of trying because they'd seen it all before.

Lovepeaceunderstanding · 15/11/2023 11:16

@orangegato , no they’re not interested in Jewish babies.

That simply isn’t true. Why can’t pro-Israeli posters accept that standing up for Palestinian rights doesn’t have to be conflated with not caring about Jews, or hating them ?

I do care about Jewish babies, but right now Palestinian babies are being killed at the rate of 160 EVERY DAY by Israel. That’s aside from those who are being made orphans or who have been maimed or injured or left to deal with the psychological trauma of what they’ve witnessed.

This is highly inflammatory, and obviously just intended to deflect discussion away from Palestinians. It is a well known tactic on here when atrocities against Palestinians are being discussed, that posters like you will throw in something about Jewish lives not mattering, when 1) no one even mentioned Jews and 2) it's a form of dehumanising Palestinian lives by constantly comparing them to Jewish people. They should be allowed to be mentioned without having to constantly talk about them within the context of Jewish people. I see this as a form of hasbara now, conflating Israelis with all Jewish people around the world.

ChickHenLittle · 15/11/2023 12:17

There goes Sunak, saying he supports Israel and won't call for a ceasefire.
Sickening. Absolutely sickening. I wish he wouldn't do it in our name, can't he see that the majority DON'T support the Israeli government?

Did they have the ceasefire vote that SNP tabled already?

An SNP MP said he should let the Commons decide if they should call for a ceasefire, but Sunak said they've made their stance clear and that they support Israel (I'm watching live). They won't ask for more than humanitarian pause. Another MP (SNP as well, I think), mentioned Gaza as well and again all Sunak would say was how Israel should be able to defend itself and they have the support of the UK.
