Documenting Israeli army racism and torture

this thread is to document the racist, criminal and dehumanizing behaviour by the most “moral army in the world” both during its most recent bombardment of Gaza and across decades of military occupation in the West Bank.

to start, here is a video of Israeli soldiers chanting they will turn Gazans into Kebabs.

There's a lot of hatred from many Israelis towards the ultra-orthodox/Haredim. They are exempt from fighting in IDF and receive a government stipend for 'learning', or not working as many people see it.
Israel is a more complex and much less homogeneous society than people realise. People came from all different parts of the world, with different backgrounds and beliefs. It's quite interesting. Some people would argue that it suits politicians like Netanyahu to foster conflict with their neighbours as fearing terrorism and war unites the country.

@stormy4319trevor from our earlier posts - there is a vote in the House of Commons tonight. Huge protest in Parliament Square and one in Birmingham. Let's hope they vote for a ceasefire and stop supporting the Israeli government against public will. 🤞🏼

Your first statement - it's a form of torture. Listening to the same thing over and over against your will, will eventually drive you insane.
Also, it isn't like they're listening to a song at a tea party, they're being forced by their oppressors who don't have a great human rights record.

Noise pollution, whilst being blindfolded is a common torture method that Israel use.

Queucumber · 15/11/2023 18:24

The biggest mistake Israel made after the Hamas attack was to turn inward. They chose not to bring in international investigators to document the horrors of what was done. It allows people to deny and minimise the nature of the atrocities.

Some people are very quick to deny witness accounts of what happened in Israel while automatically accepting witness accounts of what is happening in Gaza at face value. You might want to ask yourselves why that is.

SomeCatFromJapan · 15/11/2023 18:25

But I’d like to hear that an unbiased international professional person eg a medic or journalist, has seen such visual evidence. And as yet I have not.

Here you go. She's clearly a decent woman and hasn't given salacious detail but she has seen it.

@Queucumber because they have form for lying, thats the reason.

stormy4319trevor · 15/11/2023 18:28

@ChickHenLittle Thank you!

Queucumber · 15/11/2023 18:28

Witness accounts. You’re saying the witnesses have form for lying? All those individuals? Or are you equating Israeli citizens with the Israeli state?

Yes, I have. Does my name say it all? My username on anonymous forum? Oh my. You certainly come across as very intelligent.

I have learnt about this in the last month. I don't think the government money amounts to much because I'm sure I read that there were high levels of poverty among some sections of the ultra-orthodox community.

I think yes in future this could be a thing. Large sects within the ultra orthodox are also anti Zionist, so the general population feel why should they be financially supported when a) they are against the government and B) they aren't adding 'value'. There is also the worry of secular/liberals that Israel will become a religious state (areas where ultra orthodox dominate such as Bnei Brak do not allow men and women to walk on same side of street, shun most forms of modern communication, do not allow divorce or secular studies taught in schools). It is estimated that Haredim will make up 25% of the population by 2050.

Ultra orthodox will be 1 in 4 by 2050

Thank you for the link. I read the article.

Well no, there is plenty of video evidence of what is happening in Gaza. And would be more again if Israel would stop killing journalists and would allow international media to enter Gaza.

Hamas filmed themselves raping women and posted it online. They murdered an old woman and posted video of it on the women’s own Facebook account.

You are denying atrocities.

That’s absolutely horrific if it’s true. How do you know though if these videos are actually genuine, unless you have seen them yourself? I’ve never heard of any verified accounts of this happening. I know the murdering of 40 babies was proven to be lies. Clearly, Hamas are not innocent, they killed innocent civilians and must be bought to justice, however, a lot of stories were made up to make them look a lot more barbaric (not sure if that’s possible tbh)

These specific barbaric details have repeatedly been held up to the world as a reason why Hamas/Gazans are worse than vermin and animals and need to be destroyed.

The footage of Shani Louk was enough to convince me that Hamas are worse than vermin.

Absolutely, the IDF and Hamas are as bad as each other, lowest of the low.

ProvincialLady1 · 15/11/2023 20:56

What a weird thread this is. Do people really not know that Israel have shown over 45 minutes worth of footage of the attacks to an audience of journalists from around the world? There's ample evidence and eyewitness accounts of rapes, beheadings and various horrific tortures Hamas inflicted on their victims. Frankly it's at the point where continuing to discuss those details feels ghoulish and disrespectful, not to mention what's becoming a pattern of getting into debates about how exactly babies were killed. Anyone who sincerely cares to be informed, already knows this.

I don't doubt that some members of the IDF have done awful things at times too btw, not on the same level as the October 7th attack but that doesn't excuse anyone who abuses their position.

PurpleCrocs3 · 15/11/2023 20:58

@Thereissomelight 100%! You can't condemn Hamas for what they have done and then turn round and say the IDF are justified.

It's really not hard to find the traumatic evidence of what Hamas/Gazans did to Israel and promise to do repeatedly in the future. Maybe quit your TikTok/Insta echo chambers and do some research.

I’m just saying that, horrific as it was, it was, as far as I can see, much the same sort of thing as Israelis now doing in Gaza (multiplied many-fold).
Well, you clearly haven't looked.

For a second I thought I was in the “ Documenting Israeli army racism and torture” thread. I must have opened the 710 related one 🤔
