this thread is to document the racist, criminal and dehumanizing behaviour by the most “moral army in the world” both during its most recent bombardment of Gaza and across decades of military occupation in the West Bank.

It's very difficult to leave Gaza unless you have dual citizenship/overseas passport and even then it has to be negotiated by your embassy

Sorry I take that back - he was at the Rafah crossing towards Egypt along with some other people and he's hoping to go back home

@whatswrongwiththeworldddd that is so lovely and must be a source of some comfort for those who have seen so many lived ones killed and maimed as the result of wars 😢.
@Roste often they don't return bodies at all,and they steal bodies too. The mass graves at Al Shifaa were dug up and bodies confiscated. Someone please tell me what that has to do with Hamas.

@whatswrongwiththeworldddd yes I think he was dropongof his friends family. And they are going back into gaza. I'm not entirely sure if the other guy (Ali) was saying good bye to his wife and kids. I'm not entirely sure or if they where relatives of Ali.

Letters being sent to USA citizens from 'the chosen people ministries'

The Chosen Peoples Ministries is a US based evangelical Christian organisation seeking to convert Jews to Christianity. They do not speak for the Jewish community, they’re nothing to do with Israel, and this is not, as your Instagram post wrongly states, “Israel” sending out “PR letters”.

@25milesfromhome did you read the letter by pausing the video and watching it. The chose people ministry may be Christian. But whoever sent this letter is either using their name or it's a slightly different organisation.

@Fairtobefairohhhhhc I did read it. It’s from The Chosen Peoples Ministries. The other letter shown at the end is a note of endorsement from another deeply problematic convert to evangelical Christianity. All I’m saying is it’s not a “PR letter from Israel” and it’s dishonest to present it as such.

I’m so sorry to hear all these stories. Such suffering and such terrible things being done. Very hard to watch.

I tend to stick to the mainstream news rather than social media. Found tonight’s coverage upsetting. Had to switch over as DC were in the room. How can this be allowed to continue?

I understand why you are sticking to msm but unfortunately they aren't telling the half of it.

@braticus it's an interesting time to be an observer of mainstream news, in this context. When you see the difference between the sanitised, partisan TV news, the newspapers and individual Palestinian people's stories on social media, not to mention the gory horrible instagram videos etc.

I started a thread here about Elon Musk - not everyone’s best friend I know but he is to be commended for pushing back against one-sided censorship of X.
The MSM on Gaza is horrifying enough these days which is saying something.

But I know it’s not the half of it or even a tenth.

Last night on MSM I saw young children, about 6 years old, crying and screaming hysterically, shouting for their (dead) parents as they scrabbled desperately at rubble.

I don't know about others, but I have talked to my kids about what is happening. I think kids need to know what is happening in the world. We discuss the news regularly in general as it is. I'm not waiting for them to learn about it in a bias history lesson in school.

My elder 2 aged 9 and 10 take great interest In the news. And no.we don't rely on the BBC for everything. They will look things up and have started comparing recently and even they can see there's a difference between what is happening and what we are being shown.

Obviously I'm not showing them harrowing images or videos.before anyone.suggests that I am!

I say to my children that there are two groups fighting over land. And in both groups there are horrible selfish people who will kill anyone to get their own way. And the ordinary people have to put up with these horrible people and we hope that if enough good people try to help and calm things down people will listen.

Thats all I say. Not hard. I don’t encourage them to take sides, tempting as it is. I frown inwardly at people who force their own politics on their children, even if I agree with the politics.

When my DC are adults, a lot of today’s adults will be dead and there will be new people in charge so who knows what the world will be like. They can make their own minds up then.

Just reading the comments on there. Some people have no humanity at all. It's such a sad state of affairs.

It's good you engage with your children about what's happening and not allowing them to be taught in a biased way. It's important. My kids are younger, 8,7 & 4. The older ones do ask me about what's happening and they watch it at school on newsround.

@Thereissomelight yes my younger 2 are 4 and 6 and I say similar to you to them as they are still a bit too small. Bit the older 2 we discuss quite a lot. Not just with myself but with their dad too and we engage in debates. Some might think it's too young, but I don't think so. As long as you are sensible about it.
