Shocked by the racist signs at marches

Maybe I’m just severely naive but I’m honestly just shocked at the levels of racism of some of the signs at these marches. It’s just caught me really, really off guard.

@backtowinter here is new footage of the arrests. If you watch, you'll see them handing over guns, which will rather undermine the howls of outrage about these poor innocent civilians:

(I'm guessing people will just say that Israel planted the guns on them though).

@SomeCatFromJapan there are a couple of threads I would love to repost that on. I can hear the howls of indignation Already...

SomeCatFromJapan · 09/12/2023 18:24

@stomachameleon btw I see Max Blumenthal has already done exactly as I predicted. He doesn't hang about!

Wow.
So hamas loving terrorist supporter at the 'peace' march.

MudSandWater · 09/12/2023 19:05

From today: "One hand-drawn placard showed a star of David, symbol of the state of Israel, being pushed into the sea, and around it were written the words ‘The Final Solution?’, an offensive reference to the Holocaust." (Telegraph)

h

Yet apparently they just want peace

Perhaps some users should pop down to the marches and tell these people that.

However I am pretty sure what will happen if they do. We have seen that in other videos.

Let's see if anyone takes Eylon Levy up on his offer. Although I'd fear for the safety of anyone who did.

Metropolitan Police said an estimated 40,000 people attended the protest today

Seems about right from what I saw of London today plus the photos of the march. Definitely a smaller protest than we have seen previously

'L.A. - as Jews were lighting candles last night for Shabbat and the second night of Hanukkah, mobs of antisemites took to the streets to chant antisemitic slogans and graffiti buildings, including Synagogues.

This particular location is the epicenter of Persian Jewish life on the Wilshire corridor.

Parents and grandparents are hearing the same Jewish death chants they heard during the Iranian Islamic Revolution some 44 years ago forcing them to flee their homes of 2000+ years.'

'They ask him to take it down. Not because it is a racist hate crime, but because of the optics: “it looks bad for us”.'

I was in Bethnal Green last week and there were Palestinian flags on loads and loads of the public lamposts. Does anyone know why/if this is allowed? Can anyone just hang their flags on a lampost? Can I put an Israeli or English or Ukrainian flag on the lamposts on my road?

Trulywonderful · 11/12/2023 01:08

Don't know what the legal position on it is but Tower Hamlets were taken them down when it first started. No idea if they still have a problem with this or are still removing

I don't like flags in general anyway unless sporting event or national one like the coronation. So won't be waving or putting up any myself

"They include 80 assaults, 117 incidents of damage or desecration to Jewish property, 148 direct threats, 1,537 incidents of abusive behaviour (including verbal abuse, graffiti on non-Jewish property, hate mail and online abuse), and eight incidents of mass-produced anti-Semitic literature"

This is all "legitimate criticism of Israel", right?

Xenia · 11/12/2023 09:16

This is from 2021 but does show the problem we have here in London (they all seem to live near me never mind near our very large jewish and hindu communities in North London).

"An in-depth investigation conducted by TPS two years ago and published in December 2019 revealed the existence of a “London Hamas gang” which was called by French intelligence “Londonistan.” The investigation revealed that Hamas was well entrenched in Britain, had established institutions and foundations there, carried out extensive diplomatic activities, enjoyed the Muslim Brotherhood’s well-oiled communication system, forged ties with Labour activists, and organized flotillas to the Gaza Strip with people who had been deported by Israel on board.

The main subjects of the investigation were Zaher Birawi, Muhammad Zualha, Azzam Tamimi, Ibrahim Hamami, Anas Tikriti, Kamal Hawashh, Adnan Hamidan, Kazem Zwalaha, Haft Carmi and others, all Hamas operatives and the Muslim Brotherhood, as well as the organizations mentioned in the investigation.

Zaher Birawi is probably the most important of the Hamas operatives in London and holds the “London file” in the organization. He engages in propaganda activities against Israel in Britain and is also involved in “legal warfare” against the Jewish state. Most importantly, he is the one who had the closest ties with former Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn and pushed for Corbyn’s election.

Like many of his colleagues in Britain, Birawi is not a mere civilian but is part of the leadership of Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood there. Many of his colleagues are known to the Israeli defense establishment, and the institutions in which they operate and their members have been banned in Israel. Birawi has visited the Gaza Strip many times and was photographed alongside the local Hamas leadership while wrapped in its flag." https://tps.co.il/articles/londonistan-hamas-base-of-operations-in-england/

Could you please repost this whole post on the thread about the left and the conflict. I think the bit about Jez is very relevant for that thread

“Mr Rushdie, who met German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier on Sunday, said he understood concerns over the suffering in Gaza but added: "I would like some protesters to mention the role of Hamas, and that's a terrorist organisation. It's quite strange that political progressives support a fascist terrorist group."
The 76-year-old said he understands that the protests have been launched as emotional reaction to Palestinian deaths, "but when it slides into antisemitism and sometimes even support for Hamas, then it becomes problematic". Mr Rushdie said the protesters should at least hold Hamas responsible for the war.”^^
