Shocked by the racist signs at marches

Maybe I’m just severely naive but I’m honestly just shocked at the levels of racism of some of the signs at these marches. It’s just caught me really, really off guard.

To be fair, I've ended up with multiple usernames purely because I'm a bit of an idiot and wanted to have one username for this and another for AIBU. I kept forgetting to change my name though so then had to make a third username which is this one, but I'm still active on one (I think!) thread on here with a previous username (OhHelloTheres). I've kept to that name on there to try and avoid confusion, but I'm really looking forward to that thread reaching it's post limit so I can stop trying to remember who I am meant to be posting as 😂

Most of us would think this way. However people that have been radicalised or that are highly emotional about a subject/narrative don't think this way. To them the cause is everything. So anything they believe furthers the cause is the right thing to do. Even if it seems like madness and proves there argument/cause it flawed to everyone else

I get that but this is why people are getting away with it because our police are sensible and liberal and don't want to incite a really potentially dangerous mob.

Instead you blame a small number of white working class men, many of whom were veterans, who turned up to show their respects for Remembrance Day, who were kettled and searched by the police without committing any crimes.

I know. I'm not saying I agree with their reluctance during previous marches, I'm just saying they weren't wrong in their assessment of the crowd having potential of turning very hostile. Everyone knew this would happen

It makes me feel better protected professionally. We are not supposed to have open social media accounts or be open about political views etc. I don't change name for different threads though. Would never keep track of who I was supposed to be😂

I didn't mean to change name for different threads, but this is the kind of situation you find yourself in when your kids refuse to sleep for the first few years of their lives. I barely know my name in real life half the time let alone on MN.

I have one other username, during covid Christmas all the teachers did a Xmas name change and I was noelgiraffe. People kept calling me Noel and I hated it!
