There's a lot of misinformation/propaganda spreading around and this thread is to raise awareness of the ones circulating. Here's one for example:

Please share any you come across.

Oh yes I did see and post that there was a match yesterday in support of Israel

I’m gonna leave this one inn2 threads as applies to both threads

Evidence Points to Israeli Shells in Strikes on Gaza’s Largest Hospital
Israel said Palestinian militants had misfired projectiles, but an analysis of photos and videos of Friday’s strikes shows that some of the munitions were likely fired by Israeli forces.

https://www.nytimes.com/2023/11/14/world/middleeast/israel-gaza-al-shifa-hospital.html?unlocked_article_code=1.-Uw.7gv_.x_1dMzwIoG-V&smid=url-share

This wouldn't be the first time Israel have said the Palestinians done when in fact it was them. Just like the previous hospital bombing.

Did you also see the part where several hundred people were unable to attend due to a malicious walk-off by the bus drivers hired to take them to the march? Utterly pathetic move on the bus drivers part

MrsTerryPratchett · 15/11/2023 18:19

@Alcemeg I deliberately didn't respond on the other thread as the derailing is getting ridiculous.

I misunderstood your earlier comment about 'coming onto MN' as being new. Paired with you saying you weren't in the UK. Hardly a wild accusation.

Possibly, we should both assume the other is coming from a well-meaning place.

There are some pretty wild accusations levelled at me on this thread, which I'm not dragging onto others. I'd appreciate if you didn't either.

Just seen it (I searched for it) 300 people. Still far from the nearly 300k they claim attended the demo

whatswrongwiththeworldddd · 15/11/2023 18:47

At 10:33 I sent a link about an elderly Palestinian speaking to an Israeli force. In that link it credits the owner of the photo and the caption she wrote. Here on BritsforIsrael they have taken this photo and blamed Hamas for the shooting.

No, 900 were affected by the malicious walk-off. It might be that 600 of them found other ways of getting there, but it was still 900 affected. It's disgraceful.

This was posted on a previous thread yesterday as well. I'm reluctant to go in to details as it feels so disrespectful to the poor man, but there is zero proof IDF shot him based on just those photos.

May he rest in peace

I don't attend these things as I'm genuinely scared of being attacked on my way there or back.

It’s not basing on the photos but on the relatives

The witness testimonial of the man's granddaughter would say otherwise. There's zero proof that Hamas did it based on a twitter post.

Here’s wearing the same clothes.
Same stains on the clothes.
One minute he’s alive talking to the IDF next photo he’s dead.

So either the IDF killed him, he had a heart attack or his granddaughter killed him……
I suppose we can all decide for ourselves if it’s real or not.

Well, no. The stains are in different places.

I'm not saying the IDF didn't kill him. I have no idea. I'm just saying the photos aren't proof.

whatswrongwiththeworldddd · 15/11/2023 19:18

The mud stain on his sleeve is hidden under his arm on the photo of him dead. The mud stain at the bottom is hidden as his top is tucked in to his trousers. The blood stain you see on his back is where he's been shot and you can clearly see the bullet holes.

So I take it you have another photo to prove that those stains are also there? Because they're really not visible at all.

All I'm saying is the photos don't prove anything. That's literally all I'm saying. I'm not saying he wasn't shot by the IDF because how on earth could I possibly know that?! This whole thread is one you started in order to be aware of misinformation. So I'm saying these photos aren't proof. That's all.

I'd rather not talk about it anymore as it feels incredibly icky to talk about a casualty of war like this. He was a person who loved and was loved. I don't really want to talk about how he died anymore. It's also the reason I don't share much about the Israeli victims. It just feels wrong.

DrinkingMyWaterMindingMyBiz · 15/11/2023 19:31

@Humdingerydoo I’m actually agreeing with you this time. I agree with OP that the most likely scenario is that Basheer Haji was murdered by the IDF, but without verified sources it’s difficult to present that as fact.

However, I disagree with your use of “casualty of war”. A casualty of war is someone within the military who can no longer serve because of death or injury from said war. Basheer Haji man was a civilian. He was murdered.

I didn't realise that's what casualty of war means. I agree he was a civilian. I'm not trying to imply otherwise.

11,000 Palestinians killed with 40% children, so sad.

It's OK, I'm not in the habit of making wild accusations. And no offence taken.

I didn't finish before posting and unable to edit. What I meant to say is that Israeli lives are not worth more than Palestinian lives and vice versa.

The IDF released this video. They deleted the original post and reposted blurring out the image on the laptop.

This is the link to the repost.
