and in my opinion it's a direct result of people turning a blind eye to and excusing the horror of hamas and everything they stand for. It's allowed open season on anti Jewish hate. This has happened TODAY in France.

French woman stabbed on doorstep in anti-Semitic attack

The Jewish woman was stabbed twice at her home in Lyon before police found a swastika drawn on her front door

The terrorists did. They were very clear they were looking for Jews to kill. This was a racist massacre. The fact that those on the pro-Palestinian marches are NOT talking about race in this context, are NOT acknowledging it as a racist massacre, is exactly the problem I am talking about.

That omission IS racist

When I said Palestinian's are seen as the underdogs I meant that they have no statehood, are refugees, live in ghettos, settlements built on their land, governed by terrorists etc.
This is a separate from the issue of Hamas being racist towards Jewish people, which they obviously are.

You used that expression to explain why people have been more active for Palestinians than Israelis. It’s pretty racist to deprioritise a massacred group because they are part of an oppressing race even though they were clearly a defenseless group being brutalized.

Stomacharmeleon · 24/11/2023 20:20

@LemonAidG I actually think voice wise it's pretty fifty/fifty.
Sorry to disappoint you

LemonAidG · 24/11/2023 20:21

@hologramvirus Interesting how you jumped to conclusions and used racist stereotypes to taint my character, what's the reason for that? Twisting my words and changing the context to suit your narrative. Lol, I wasn't even responding to your posts. Says a lot about intent of some posters. Shame, the same concern isn't given to the Muslim children dying in Gaza.

Humdingerydoo · 24/11/2023 20:21

LemonAidG · 24/11/2023 20:13

@Humdingerydoo Don't cherry pick a post to twist things into anti semitism. The Jewish community have the loudest voices in this conflict on MN, these threads even the ones expressing sympathy for Palestinians have been derailed. What about the other points in my post, why ignore how Netanyahu's racist twisted rhetoric is never called out?

I don't want to answer any of your questions until I know for sure you're not being anti-Semitic. Because it's sure as hell sounded like you were being so. The Jewish community have the loudest voices, eh? You think everyone on here who is supporting Israel is Jewish? And you think every Jew on here is supporting Israel?

Aren't you the poster who wanted a Muslim Mumsnetters board partly so you wouldn't have to encounter islamophobic comments anymore? Yet here you are, grouping all Jews together.

Stomacharmeleon · 24/11/2023 20:21

I also think Netanyahu is called out all the time....

I disagree.

Stomacharmeleon · 24/11/2023 20:22

@Humdingerydoo and on a post about antisemitism. Strange.

LemonAidG · 24/11/2023 20:24

@Humdingerydoo So you get to ask all the questions then eh? Accuse people of being anti semitic? How do i know you're not anti Islam?

May I suggest that if you join a thread eighteen pages in, people will assume you are engaging in the current debate not responding to the OP ( which I think was posted days ago)

I don’t know your race so not sure how I could use a racist trope against you. I did call out the anti-Semitic tropes in yours though.

Stomacharmeleon · 24/11/2023 20:27

@LemonAidG you said you weren't on other posts. Do people advertise that anyway?

Those pesky Jews/ gentiles with their loud voices. (Looking for fist shaking emoji)

Again, twisting to make something anti Semitic.

LemonAidG · 24/11/2023 20:22

I disagree.

Go and count up the threads and posts and I guarantee you are objectively wrong about that. It's strange you would perceive it that way round tbh but I guess any amount of 'voice' is offensive to you.

What are you talking about, I am on other threads.

I didn’t mean to imply there should be no sympathy for the victims of the massacre. It’s just that the Palestinians have been treated poorly for a long time now (would that be fair to say?) and now there are concerns the Israelis are committing war crimes.
As I said before, I’m not throwing shade at the victims. Any issues I have with Israel are with its government.

LemonAidG · 24/11/2023 20:31

@ProvincialLady1 Only the voices that think Palestinian Muslim children are not equal to the Israelis.

Humdingerydoo · 24/11/2023 20:32

LemonAidG · 24/11/2023 20:24

@Humdingerydoo So you get to ask all the questions then eh? Accuse people of being anti semitic? How do i know you're not anti Islam?

I think the fact I haven't said anything islamophobic would probably be a good indicator. Unlike you, I don't see this as a war between Jews and Muslims, mainly because it's not a war between Jews and Muslims. I personally have nothing to do with anything that happens in Israel, despite my oh-so-loud voice on MN.

I’m not saying that you are saying that.

You have, however, probably accurately identified ( one of the reasons) why people have turned away from Israeli victims and I find that reason absolutely appalling.

LemonAidG · 24/11/2023 20:33

@Humdingerydoo The rhetoric that Israel has used shows that they're doing this as a religious war.

Humdingerydoo · 24/11/2023 20:37

Oh yeah? So it's now due to racism? Nothing to do with the massacre on 7th October?

Stomacharmeleon · 24/11/2023 20:39

@LemonAidG you asked how I knew you weren't anti Muslim.
And you are very much being antisemitic.
All those loud voices.

More the words Netanyahu and Ben-Gvir keep using.

I have every sympathy for the atrocities visited on innocent Israelis on 7/10 but that doesn't mean I'll remain silent about the horrors inflicted on the innocent people of Gaza.

LemonAidG · 24/11/2023 20:31

Well, since I haven't seen anyone saying that, I think the voices might be in your head tbh.

I was reading an article (which I may as well link) in which an Israeli was quoted as saying due to the enormity of the attacks they “don’t have room for the other sides pain”. This is understandable but as you say the suffering inflicted on Gaza should also be talked about (but maybe not on this thread lest we be accused of derailing)

Actually, I take it back. I don't think @LemonAidG has mentioned Jews being responsible for the war, just that we have loud voices on here. I'm sorry. How do I delete my comments?

However, your insistence on it being about Muslims is inaccurate. Not all Palestinians are Muslim, first of all. Secondly, no one is saying to kill all Muslims.
