Placards from antisemitic marches in London

I had written this as a response to the other thread which was closed as it was overrun by antisemitic d**ks. As I'm sure this one will be too. They can't allow us to share the truth of what is being said and done in our own home towns and cities.

Look at these images. No, they are not in the minority or unusual. Here are just a few of many, many overtly antisemitic placards from Saturday's protest in London. (And a bonus one from 2021, which the lovely John McDonnell also spoke at.)

This is MY HOME. I am Jewish. My family fled pogroms in Eastern Europe and Nazis in Germany. Those family members who didn't flee were murdered for being Jews. And here we fucking are again. In London. And people defending it.

This is NOTHING TO DO WITH ISRAEL. These are Jew-haters, the faces of hate, the faces of anger and mockery, openly calling for Jews, for me, my family, my children, my parents, to be murdered, in my home city.

And people are defending it. How the fuck do you think we feel?

Devonwindyweather.
Are you in Devon by any chance?

I shouldn't derail the thread, but Devon, Somerset and Cornwall are lovely to visit

Trulywonderful · 12/11/2023 18:35

FordAnglia · 12/11/2023 17:48

yes @Trulywonderful
where are you?
have you observed the demos, including yesterday?
or are we just in the world of twattersurfing?

Already answered that

Where you from some kind of la la land, where supporting hate crimes and denying antisemitism is being on the right side of history

(Anyone what to know what that is about then read some of this users posts on threads about antisemitism)

That hate filled man was shouting his hate on the streets of London. He is quite happy and means quite emboldened shouting his hatred towards Jewish people.

We see you. The country needs to wake up and stamp out hatred like this.

We are now at a stage where most are not even hiding their jew hate. They know they can get away with vomiting up this rubbish. Even if arrested they get off or only get a slap on the wrist.

It is likely to get a lot worse and not just for Jews. Once society turns blind eye to Jew hate then other forms of hate flourish too

re reading thread, I only have so much time (somewhat less than you maybe) to go through all this.
Having a quick scan back I see that you are in fact in London.
But doesn't that leave the question about whether you have actually seen/observed the marches?
Have you?
(one of the good things about being in London is that you can actually "get on the bike" and check stuff out - quite often the truth is different from the media reporting)

>>Where you from some kind of la la land, where supporting hate crimes and denying antisemitism is being on the right side of history

This rather suggests that you have long since formed/set in concrete your opinions. I would never in a million years suggest that anti-semitism doesn't exist)

Trulywonderful · 12/11/2023 18:50

I was reading the other day that France has had over 1200 antisemitic attacks and incidents in the last month! I know they have had rising antisemitism for years now and like America this is often very violent and has even ended in deaths before. However below is at least a small sign of hope for French Jewish people.

"March against antisemitism in Paris: 20+ members of the French government led by Prime Ministrer Elisabeth Borne and MFA Catherine Colonna; former French presidents François Hollande and Nicolas Sarkozy; all political parties except the far-left represented."

@Stomacharmeleon the words written in Arabic on the bands are the Muslim declaration of faith, known as the Shahada. It translates as 'There is no God but Allah, Muhammed is his messenger'

Muslims repeat the Shahadah first thing on waking and last thing before sleeping. They are the first words whispered into the ear of a new-born baby, and if possible, the last words uttered to the dying.

It is not a 'Hamas Headband' as you say.

How disingenous can you be? They're dressed up as Hamas terrorists as well you know. Shame on you for trying to minimise and justify terrorist sympathisers.

(Attached pictures of actual terrorists the protestors where aspiring to be so everyone can see how disingenous this poster was being)

No but your one of the 'didn't see it with my own eyes it never happened' brigade.
Even though there are plenty of pictures and the police have published said pictures in relation to hate crime.

Trulywonderful · 12/11/2023 18:54

It is sad that in France like here the far left seems rather have lost their own way

Strange times for Jews when a lot of the groups and organisations they have supported and rallied for don't stand by them over hate crimes

SomeCatFromJapan · 12/11/2023 18:57

A lovely friend of mine's elderly parents and extremely elderly mother are unable to leave their house in the seaside suburb of Cape Town where they live. They are Jewish and it's an area with a large Jewish community.

An unpermitted pro-Palestine march turned up to counter-protest Christians and Jewish people praying peacefully together and it's now turned into a mob surrounding the police station and driving around shouting threatening anti-Semitic abuse.

Simply terrible

I really am feeling upset about the elderly hate deal with all this. That and school/university age children navigating something people kept saying they wouldn't let happen again.

Antisemitism is sometimes known as the gateway drug to extremism. It’s the most socially acceptable form of racism so it’s easy for potential racist extremists to cut their teeth on it before escalating. Obviously, NAASWBE (Not All Antisemites Will Be Extremists), most will remain just people who have inexplicably strong feelings about Jews and many, many opinions on what constitutes antisemitism.

The left wing problem with antisemitism is because they see racism as aimed at oppressed minorities.

So when you have a form of racism which is concerned with portraying a minority as powerful, rich, manipulative, bloodthirsty, the hard left sees antisemitism simply as punching up, rather than the racism that it is.

It's a huge blind spot.

MrTiddlesTheCat · 12/11/2023 19:28

If these protests are all about peace and nothing to do with antisemitism, why did the police have to escort jewish families away from their synagoue yesterday to protect them from protestors?

EsmaCannonball · 12/11/2023 20:14

There was a massive march against anti-Semitism in Paris today and it seems to have passed off without any of the participants cosplaying as terrorists or calling for anyone to be gassed or beheaded. Funny that.

In the 35 days inclusive between the Hamas terror attack on Israel (Saturday 7 October) and Friday 10 November, CST recorded at least 1205 antisemitic incidents across the UK. This is the highest ever total reported to CST across a thirty-five-day period. CST has been recording antisemitic incidents since 1984.

In addition to the 1205 anti-Jewish hate incidents recorded so far, CST also logged at least 762 incidents that have not been classified as antisemitic. These include criminal acts affecting Jewish people and property, suspicious behaviour near to Jewish locations, and anti-Israel activity that is not directed at the Jewish community or does not use antisemitic language. Many of these potential incidents involve suspicious activity or possible hostile reconnaissance at Jewish locations, and they play an important role in informing CST’s provision of protection to the Jewish community.

Trulywonderful · 12/11/2023 20:36

The 1205 antisemitic incidents recorded over this thirty-five-day period fall into the following categories:

  • 59 Assaults
  • 82 Damage & Desecration to Jewish property
  • 111 direct Threats
  • 951 Abusive Behaviour, including verbal abuse, graffiti on non-Jewish property, hate mail and online abuse
  • 2 instances of mass-produced antisemitic Literature
Trulywonderful · 12/11/2023 20:39

Examples of antisemitic incidents recorded by CST since Saturday 7 October include:

  • Posters of Jewish hostages have been removed or defaced in London, Manchester, Hertfordshire and Leeds
  • Lit fireworks were thrown towards Jewish girls in Manchester
  • "F*ck Israel" was shouted at four Jewish men in London
  • In Hertfordshire, teenagers on bikes shouted, "Free Palestine", and, "I want to kill you Jews" at a Jewish woman in her car
  • "JEWS ARE SH*T" was written on the inside of a toilet door in a Manchester supermarket
  • A post on X (formerly Twitter) read, "Is it time to question the propaganda we have been fed about the Holocaust. How much of what we've been told about Jews and Israel since WWII has been lies"
  • Kids from another school passed a Jewish school in Manchester and started shouting, "Y*ds!" at the Jewish children leaving the premises
  • At a Manchester university, "Kill Jews" was written on a Freedom for Palestine poster
  • In Cheshire, a swastika with the word "Nazi" was daubed on a door
  • In Leeds, a university student had a swastika and "fck you cnts" written in the dirt on their vehicle
SovietSpy · 12/11/2023 20:54

Apparently this was recorded yesterday. Woman demands to know if a fellow passenger on the bus is a Jew. Then attacks and intimidates passengers.

You know it can be seen as very offensive if you are confusing these 2 headbands. One is that of Hamas and the other is a very important piece of Islamic text that Muslims recite daily. It literally means: I bear witness there is only 1 god (Allah) and prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the final messenger. This is a sacred bit of scripture that makes Muslims, Muslims. It can be found in almost all Muslim homes. It’s a sign of being a Muslim. It isn’t a sign of being a terrorist and not a sign of being a member of Hamas. That’s the other band. The first 2 images are Hamas headbands. Last one, the shahada, which just means you believe in one god and his final prophet is Muhammad pbuh

However, at the same time I will also add that given how little non Muslims know about the Arabic text, then it shouldn’t be worn at pro Palestinian marches if the aim is to intimidate. As there are “bad apples” within all groups of people, I certainly wouldn’t be surprised that some protesters were taking advantage of the fact that not many individuals know the difference and using it to intimidate. But, I bet this is a minority. A handful. However, at the same time there will be protesters wearing it as a sign of unity of Muslims too.
