Placards from antisemitic marches in London

I had written this as a response to the other thread which was closed as it was overrun by antisemitic d**ks. As I'm sure this one will be too. They can't allow us to share the truth of what is being said and done in our own home towns and cities.

Look at these images. No, they are not in the minority or unusual. Here are just a few of many, many overtly antisemitic placards from Saturday's protest in London. (And a bonus one from 2021, which the lovely John McDonnell also spoke at.)

This is MY HOME. I am Jewish. My family fled pogroms in Eastern Europe and Nazis in Germany. Those family members who didn't flee were murdered for being Jews. And here we fucking are again. In London. And people defending it.

This is NOTHING TO DO WITH ISRAEL. These are Jew-haters, the faces of hate, the faces of anger and mockery, openly calling for Jews, for me, my family, my children, my parents, to be murdered, in my home city.

And people are defending it. How the fuck do you think we feel?

I presume the Jewish bloke was trying to ask these girls a question about why they are protesting or something about the conflict. However what happens next with is pretty typical of how these things go if you question protesters.

Yes saw that last night

Just around the corner from where the protesters were letting off flares outside a synagogue someone posted (I have no idea if those incidents were that close because I haven't checked locations. However both are pretty serious Jew hate and nothing to do with Israel)

With luck they'll find her and she'll go to prison, I wouldn't hold my breath though. Imagine people like that walking about, people who want all Jewish people to be killed. She could have Jewish neighbours, Jewish colleagues. Its terrifying.

Yep

Mind blowing isn't it

Like someone on there saying it’s only on MN that Jewish people are “claiming” to be scared.

Or all the people claiming they can’t see any antisemitism in what is being said. Or that they were there and didn’t see anything. As if that makes what is undeniably happening any better or less worrying.

You must feel like you are going mad.

You can clearly hear him asking "How old was Aisha?", which is an Islamophobic trope used by racists to try and imply that the prophet was a paedophile.

The group of women have nothing to do with the antisemite who walks by making vile statements, evidenced by the very London wtf side eye they give her. The British Transport police is investigating her hate speech.

That isn't a trope it is in the desciption in Quran that she was very young, so a fact. However I have listened again and yes he is obviously asking ridiculous wind up. Definitely shouldn't have asked girls that. questions. No need for it.

The video is here to highlight what happened next though. Which is pretty bad in anyone's books.

Well her face is very clearly displayed on BTPs twitter and I'm sure that the social media will collectively identify her.

By trope I meant that it's something that English Defence league/Tommy Robinson types use to be "acceptably" racist to Muslims, which it looks like that bloke was trying to do.

Trulywonderful · 12/11/2023 15:07

Oh yes it is a horrible thing to be going on about to a group of young ladies.

It is however something I have debated about with Muslim friends but we talk about such issues with all three Abrahamic books. So very different conversation and not one aimed at winding anyone up

I am actually stunned at the idea EDL or Tommy know anything about it. They don't strike me as very bookie people. Suppose someone mentioned it and they have used it since.

Yes the police are using facial recognition technology with social media. So bound to track her down from that. Else clear enough image for neighbour, college, workmate etc to identify and give her name to the police

Wish the police hadn't announced using facial recognition technology with social media to identify. Since they did we have more people covering their faces. Last week the police did get a court order saying they could remove and confiscate face coverings in Trafalgar Square that evening. However that isn't very easy to do.

EsmaCannonball · 12/11/2023 16:24

Just seen footage from a pro-Palestine rally in New York and I would say that it was explicitly pro-Hamas. The speaker was absolutely batshit and scary but also a complete hypocrite. If the land belongs to indigenous peoples, why is an Israeli a settler-colonialist but a non-indigenous American not a settler-colonialist? At least Jewish people are indigenous to the region and many of them have family connections there going back far longer than non-indigenous families have lived in America. If indigenous land rights are the only thing that counts then let's apply that everywhere and face the consequences.

SomeCatFromJapan · 12/11/2023 16:45

@EsmaCannonball well quite. Imagine taking that to its logical conclusion and deporting anyone non-indigenous from the UK and Europe - or by Hamas' playbook, I suppose we'd have to try and kill them all.
Sounds pretty hideous if we make the comparison really.

@Trulywonderful
This is not from Wikipedia, it's from a website that promotes Zionist propaganda. Be honest about your sources.

Just because it’s from a ‘website that promotes Zionist propaganda’ as you call it, doesn’t mean it’s not true.
Btw, Zionism is simply believing Israel has a right to exist.
Do you not believe that Israel has a right to exist?
Maybe think about that before throwing around cheap racist tropes.

Tommy Robinson isn't thick. It would be a mistake to underestimate him in that way.

Jupitersstorm · 12/11/2023 16:59

andmeandmeandme · 12/11/2023 12:59

It's not just a few bad apples on the protests though though is it. Otherwise I would go on the protests myself. I absolutely deplore what the current Israeli govt is doing in Gaza, as well as the ultra Zionist groups in the West Bank. I am on the left and a pacifist (possibly naively) so of course I feel this way. I hold Netanyahu responsible for murdering thousands of innocent people and he is putting the lives of Jews across the world in danger too as a consequence. And some of the more vocal and non-empathetic pro-Israel voices (Jewish and non-Jewish) on Mumsnet enrage me as much as those who I believe are prejudiced against Jewish people (at best) and who have no interest in hearing Jewish voices unless we go on the protests. The ones who keep denying or minimising antisemitism, the ones who are quite happy to just ignore or contort the obvious hatred toward Jews and the explicit calls to dismantle the world's only Jewish state. There just always seems to be a way to explain all of that away doesn't there?

And we keep being told 'anti-Zionism is not antisemitism' yet Jewish people are being targeted leaving synagogues in London. And the protester yesterday who shouted into a camera that basically Hitler had the right idea - it's just anti-Zionism, amirite? Are pro-Palestinian convoys targeting specific Jewish areas across UK cities and suburbs just being anti-Zionist? Really? Naziesque graffiti is being displayed on the homes of Jews in Paris near where some of my family live, including an elderly relative who lives alone in the 14th. Their homes are being 'marked'. Sound familiar? One elderly couple in their 80s had the entrance to their flat set on fire. That is not antizionism, it's antisemitism and it's very, very frightening. The protests, in my opinion, are creating an atmosphere that enables this (which is why Macron banned them). So why would I go out and protest when there is such evident hate towards Jews on display, hate that is overflowing from the protests into other areas of Jewish life.

And yes I am fully aware there is a Jewish presence on the marches. One group are ultra orthodox fundamentalists and I have no interest in anything they have to say to be quite honest. Their beliefs do not align with mine and their way of life could not be further removed from mine. This group simply do not care about Gazan lives, you need to realise that. They want non-religious Jews and Zionists out of Israel. That's it. Other Jewish groups on the march, I'm sure many of them mean well, in fact I know they do. But I also feel there's a significant contingent who align themselves with JVL, JVP and the likes - problematic organisations to say the very least. They are on the fringes and have some pretty hateful characters in their ranks - they are not in any way part of the mainstream Jewish community. Yet their presence is being used as some kind of proof that antisemitism is not on display at the protests so they are used to shut-out our voices and concerns. Again, that is my opinion but I know it is shared by other Jewish people on the left.

I totally agree with you - you are right but you will not convince others to admit it.
We know the truth.

Trulywonderful · 12/11/2023 17:13

I suppose my instincts are to right people like him off as just knuckle heads. However he has managed to build up quite a following. Therefore I suppose he is similar to Andrew Tate in that he uses what intelligence he has to manipulate and panda to peoples own inner iffyness.

I can't imagine being a Jew living in London knowing that every week antisemites are, like clockwork, being given an excuse to march through the centre of where I live calling for my death, or just throwing vitriolic hatred in my direction and having people describing these as 'peace marches'.

This 100%

That hate filled man was shouting his hate on the streets of London. He is quite happy and means quite emboldened shouting his hatred towards Jewish people.

We see you. The country needs to wake up and stamp out hatred like this.
