Placards from antisemitic marches in London

I had written this as a response to the other thread which was closed as it was overrun by antisemitic d**ks. As I'm sure this one will be too. They can't allow us to share the truth of what is being said and done in our own home towns and cities.

Look at these images. No, they are not in the minority or unusual. Here are just a few of many, many overtly antisemitic placards from Saturday's protest in London. (And a bonus one from 2021, which the lovely John McDonnell also spoke at.)

This is MY HOME. I am Jewish. My family fled pogroms in Eastern Europe and Nazis in Germany. Those family members who didn't flee were murdered for being Jews. And here we fucking are again. In London. And people defending it.

This is NOTHING TO DO WITH ISRAEL. These are Jew-haters, the faces of hate, the faces of anger and mockery, openly calling for Jews, for me, my family, my children, my parents, to be murdered, in my home city.

And people are defending it. How the fuck do you think we feel?

@Trulywonderful you have mentioned Munafiq I believe more than once so just to give context, although the literal meaning of munafiq is hypocrite, there are two types:

  1. Someone who pretends to be a Muslim when really he isn't (this term was more prevalent at the time of the prophet generally used for spies)
  2. A Muslim whose certain actions go against certain teachings of Islam.
In a famous narration the prophet Muhammad peace be upon him said: the signs of a hypocrite are three; when he speaks, he lies; when he gives a promise, he breaks it; when he is entrusted with something, he betrays it (I believe your friend would be referring what he perceives as the second type)

Whilst your friend is correct that there are some radicals in some of these protests, these are a minority from the hundreds of thousands who have attended

I saw someone else criticising 'tribalism' which I found strange as that was one aspect about the Jewish people I personally felt I could relate to the most, that regardless of whether they were friends or relatives they each felt the pain of other Jewish people who are suffering (a concept i find very beautiful)

Likewise many Muslims feel the same.
In another narration it is said 'the Muslims are like one body, when one part is in pain the whole body feels pain'
Just trying to give a better understanding why so many Muslims are feeling pain right now to see the horrors of the Palestinians who are trapped with nowhere to go being pounded on mercilessly
There are no safe zones
Thousands of innocent peoeple have died, schools, hospitals, UN buildings where the displaced are sheltering are also being struck
Many of the deceased are being buried in mass graves daily
Women are giving birth including c sections without pain relief
And we feel a sense of despair and helplessness that we can do so little to help them

Many of the people I know who attend these marches go to show solidarity with the innocent, to show that there are people who do care about them and as a criticism of our own government who have shown so little regard to the Palestinians

None of this takes away from the absolutely horrific events of the 7th of October and my heart hurts for all those suffering.

I apologise in advance if there was anything in my post that may have come across as offensive in anyway as it really was not my intention and I'm not always the best at articulating my thoughts but just to show a different perspective

Your reply is not offensive at all.

Yes I do understand the meaning and both types of meaning tend to be spoken about when it comes to Hamas and also the Muslims that are more extremist on the marches. Which I think we both know are several hundred and that is without the number of Muslims that are not exstbut have been raised in communities or families were Jewish people are not exactly spoken about fondly. Which again we both know happens a lot in some countries in particular.

They mean fake Muslim in the context of they believe these people do not really follow Islam but follow a twist version that has been altered over the years for various leaders purposes.

This is something I have posted on a different thread before to explain this but will do again. It is the that most the Muslims and ex Muslims I know believe Muslims that support/listen to people like Arafat and Hamas are not following his will/words of Allah.

Firstly from my own memory there are at least 14 references to Jews on the holy land in the Quran but non to Allah's followers.

Secondly the only reference to Jerusalem in the Quran is as the Jewish capital

Thirdly Allah said this in the Quran:

Koran (5:21), “O my people! Enter the Holy Land which God has decreed for you, and turn back on your heels otherwise you will be overturned as losers.”

Personally I don't think Jewish people have any more right to their homes than Muslim people living on the land. I think thebonly thing that matters is who is living there now and not religious beliefs or history. It is still good to have knowledge of both those things though for context.

To truly understand the verses of the Quran in depth one first has to understand the context
There have been books and books written which records when the verses were revealed, under which circumstances, the explanation of the verses give by the prophet peace be upon him at the time etc etc this is a whole science which many have dedicated years and years of study to

Going into the detail of that here would surely derail the thread but happy to discuss elsewhere

Again I agree that all should be able to live peacefully

Uricon2 · 04/11/2023 13:46

I've been thinking about Robert Habeck's address since yesterday. It gives me hope. 80 years ago even the idea of a senior German politician speaking out officially against antisemitism is as we know unimaginable. It is proof that things change and not always for the worse.

It is my fervent hope (I'm sure it is everyone's) that the killing will stop and a way can finally be found for Palestinians and Israelis to live alongside each other in peace and fairness. It seems far, far away at the moment I know and I have no plan (not that anyone's asked me) but I know fomenting hate of any kind, be it antisemitism or Islamophobia, just pushes that day further into the future

SomeCatFromJapan · 04/11/2023 18:06

Unfortunately you've got people openly praising the 7 October attacks on British streets now. Not a poster but pretty anti-Semitic.

Abu Hamza was allowed to promote hate for an unreasonably long time so sadly I'm not surprised.

Absolutely disgusting. But I'm sure all the protesters chanting along with him are lovely and just want peace. /end sarcasm

Xenia · 04/11/2023 18:48

The idea that ladies at a UK church tea party are as likely to be anti semitic as radicalise Muslim British residents on Pro Palestine marches is a bit unlikely.

On Parkingt111, I don't like that tribalism you thnk is lovely that jews might love jews and muslims muslims. The Bible has the better message - one of us all as equal

Gal. 3 Verses 28 to 29
"[28] There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. [29] And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's offspring, heirs according to promise. "

Seriously in a place with families and everything

Yes they do buzz and giggle about antisemitism and Jew hate. We see that on the faces of the people that rip down hostage posters too

Sick idiots, I actually hope they try such a thing somewhere people are not so placid. About time people stood up to this bullying and harassment from protesters

The police are standing there doing nothing. Again.

Itllbefine6 · 04/11/2023 19:17

You want Israel to agree to a ceasefire, so you chant that you want to wipe out their whole state 'from the river to the sea', and hold up placards reminding them of a regime in recent memory that attempted to wipe every Jew from the face of the earth? 🤷

SomeCatFromJapan · 04/11/2023 19:24

There has been a huge amount of anti-Semitism and unpleasantness recorded today. I am dreaded what Armistice Day brings.

@Itllbefine6 not the sharpest tools in the box, are they?

SovietSpy · 04/11/2023 19:24

Fighting and fireworks being thrown at Police now happening at Trafalgar Square. The police have lost control, they just let the antisocial behaviour happen because they fear being criticised for doing something about it.

Yep, I don't think these people are big on logic or critical thinking

Very soon any support they had from general public will be reduced too. Much like Just Stop Oil. Most people understand that the environment is important. However once you start blocking Ambulances or stopping people from doing there job you lose a lot of support. If pro Gaza protesters continue like getting worse the general public will all be agreeing these are hate marches

This is appallingly. We don't need this here. Arrest the nasty lot of them

MrTiddlesTheCat · 04/11/2023 19:34

Just seen a jewish woman has been stabbed in France. Someone knocked on her door and stabbed her twice in the stomach when she answered. Police say a swastika was painted on her door. The attacker is still at large.

SovietSpy · 04/11/2023 19:36

i have also just seen the story about the Jewish woman stabbed in France.

This one they're doing it to a little boy. They just thugs .

https://twitter.com/hearnimator/status/1720868306222023159?t=seOvBz-wwmZqzVT2q0jhxg&s=19

Arrest them. They do themselves no favours. It turns people away from what they shout.
It shows how rife anti semitism is in the UK. UK Jewish people are not responsible for what is happening.

DevonWindyWeather · 04/11/2023 19:41

This is the problem, the radical element hide in the protests and gradually feel more and more confident when people around them join in chanting and singing anti semitic songs. Eventually some of the extremists feel emboldened and carry out attacks in Europe, The US in UK. They are already happening.

SomeCatFromJapan · 04/11/2023 19:41

That's devastating about the poor woman in France. Sadly not the first time either in recent times that Jewish people have been targets either.

The scenes in Trafalgar Square are ugly. How on earth do they think they're helping the people of Gaza with any of this?

They're not helping the people of Gaza. The people doing this are showing the characteristics of a torch bearing mob circa 1250. I posit that they don't care about the people of Gaza, at all.
