Placards from antisemitic marches in London

I had written this as a response to the other thread which was closed as it was overrun by antisemitic d**ks. As I'm sure this one will be too. They can't allow us to share the truth of what is being said and done in our own home towns and cities.

Look at these images. No, they are not in the minority or unusual. Here are just a few of many, many overtly antisemitic placards from Saturday's protest in London. (And a bonus one from 2021, which the lovely John McDonnell also spoke at.)

This is MY HOME. I am Jewish. My family fled pogroms in Eastern Europe and Nazis in Germany. Those family members who didn't flee were murdered for being Jews. And here we fucking are again. In London. And people defending it.

This is NOTHING TO DO WITH ISRAEL. These are Jew-haters, the faces of hate, the faces of anger and mockery, openly calling for Jews, for me, my family, my children, my parents, to be murdered, in my home city.

And people are defending it. How the fuck do you think we feel?

And Israeli army released footage of them kidnapping fathers and sons from their homes in the West Bank, stripped naked, tied up, humiliated and kicked and thrown around before killing them.

By your definition, they are also Nazis of the Middle East.
Hamas actions are disgusting, and Israel's actions are disgusting.
Netanyahu has publicly displayed a map showing just Israel, Palestine gone. Palestinians gone. He wants to erase the people of Palestine, who have no defence force and no power.

Most police and soldiers all around the world strip terrorists down to their pants the moment they arrest them. Then handcuff or cable tie their hands. If you Google you will see that British police do this too!

It is to make sure that they have not got a suicide bomb strapped to them or are have a weapon hid inside their clothes. This is a standard practice to keep police officers and the general public safe. I actually thought everyone knew this. You see it on TV a lot on films and documentaries about arrests of dangerous criminals. Therefore that part is nothing to shout about.

Obviously if aside from that the police or soldiers behaved badly whilst arresting someone that requires a investigation from their seniors or a external organisation.

However that is all very different to striping a young innocent girl naked and then parading her around the streets whilst people spit at her. Which is what happened and what the nazis did in Europe.

Both acts are horrible but one is nazi behaviour. The other is soldiers not the legal system deal with criminals or people they believe to be criminals. Instead being rough then executing them. Both are horrible but they are not comparable to each other at all.

Please stop trying to make out that Hamas behaviour is anything but extreme Islamic brutality with a liking for nazi acts. It belittles any valid argument you may have every time you try to call Israelis/Jews nazis. There are plenty of regimes in history or now that you can compare Israel too. The fact you insist on Nazis is not only offensive to Jews but frankly very belittling to any honest concerns about Gazens.

Caffeineandicecream · 02/11/2023 21:26

@Trulywonderful they were not hamas nor mistaken for hamas. They were innocent civilians. Please stop confusing Palestinian people with hamas.

SomeCatFromJapan · 02/11/2023 21:31

How do you know that though? It's a social media post, anyone could say anything.

Sorry but I am not confused. We don't know who these people are or why they were arrested. Hamas fighters and supporters are in both Gaza and the west bank. All we actually know is according whatever evidence they were arrested and executed without a trial. We don't know if they are innocent or guilty people. However an investigation needs to be done to find out this. Also to deal with the wrongful conduct from the soilders.

It kind of doesn't matter if true or not. The point reason their posted was to try and compare to something that isn't comparable

I didn't even bother clicking a link to some random Instagram account. Never click those links you just add clicks to idiots. Anyway I think I read something about this else where. So possibly is true. Either way until it is investigated we don't know.

Stomacharmeleon · 02/11/2023 21:45

Appears on social media why though? It's not like people want to do a hatch it job on Israel and the IDF.

And before anyone bleats I don't think anyone is beyond reproach but I would question the timing of the release.

I would assume its to highlight the treatment of the Palestinians by the IDF which has been an ongoing grevience for many years, but bought more to light in the wider context of this conflict.
It's truly quite horrifying to see

Trulywonderful · 02/11/2023 21:55

At least a better source than Instagram. Like I said it needs investigating. Still not a comparable thing to what happened to the girl because she was treated the same way the nazis treated Jews.

It is nasty behaviour you will see through history and around the world. This is not behaviour distinctly of nazis. However Hamas often deliberately follow nazi acts and wave nazi flags etc

As I have said on many threads I am very critical of the current Israeli government. However if you want to call them anything why use Jew related hate speech or compare to other Jewish history. It is just being offensive for no reason. People can literally compare Israeli government to anything or any regime they want, Frankly I don't care about that.

Uricon2 · 02/11/2023 21:55

I wish the same people who are posting the same links on thread after thread would share their views on the Hamas leadership, some of their recent pronouncements and the fact they are in luxurious safety in Qatar while hundreds of thousands of Palestinian children are going through Hell.

I was only providing the source
I never compared them to anyone that was the previous poster
Again you can find the incident reported in Israeli newspapers too and the IDF have said that the soldiers will be 'disciplined'

I wish the protesters would hold up signs doing just that and asking for peace amongst all their other signs. However I think we both will not get what we want.

Yes I know sorry I should have been more clear. I was explaining my post/ reply and postion on this from previous discussion with someone else

We will all have to see what an investigation and punishment means then.

This stuff kind of stuff happens all around the world in conflicts and now war. We have these reports on both sides of the Ukraine and Russia war plus from the conflicts in the years building up to that However it doesn't make them right and hopefully their seniors will deal with it appropriately once investigated.

No need to apologise it's ok, I understand its a very stressful time for everyone
And yes I'm hoping so too

These are 11 images of people the police have want to trace regarding racism offensives at the last two protests. If people do know them they can contact the met police and they can do that anonymously if they want too.

Obviously everyone should be sharing these photos on social media if they stand against racism

The police have said there will be more photos released but they and the crown prosecution lawyers are still slowly going through footage and photos of the protests.

So far they have arrested around a hundred people.

Going off a tangent somewhat, but I get the sense that a lot of people don't realise they're antisemitic - for a lot of people, when they think of racism they think of slavery and the struggle for civil rights in the US, or the Windrush generation in the UK. Antisemitism is somehow deeper and hidden in our psyches. I see it on these threads and discussions elsewhere.

The idea that Jews are somehow inherently untrustworthy and bloodthirsty, that they have too much power. This is classic antisemitism, but it's almost in the bones of our culture. I remember growing up (and I don't think this was particularly unique) that people would make anti-Semitic remarks and jokes, but we didn't know any Jewish people (not like the comments and jokes that were made about people that we'd see more visibly such as the corner shop owner or the striker from the opposing football team). This anti-semitism has always been there, but a lot of the time, it can feel a little invisible, unless it comes to the surface like we're seeing now.

Yes, it has always been bubbling below or on the surface and the placards have illustrated that it's not even sitting on the surface now. I saw this tweet yesterday and can't believe how in just a matter of weeks we've gone from mostly subtle expressions of prejudice or hostility (with the exception of a few gobby far left cranks who don't hold back) to this: masks fully off and thousands of 'likes'.

https://twitter.com/Shayan86/status/1720203574938943916

The language of holocaust denial is now emerging in a scary number of responses to events on 7th Oct, and it's been an almost seamless transition of denialism. The guy in the tweet is an America First nationalist and his tweets are a bin-fire but some of the language he uses is so similar to that of the 'don't have an antisemitic bone in my body' far left.

And the response to this by so many people is basically shrug or "it's not happening" "calm down it's just a few placards". I'm worried about the future for Jewish people in a way I've never done before. I can't keep up with all the related MN threads so this may have been posted already, but I read this article yesterday by a Jewish woman who works for the Guardian and found it really, really affecting. I think it will resonate with a lot of Jewish people. The Graun's 'didn't happen' response was as predictable as it was pathetic.

*I'll add that the new "update" at the top of the article does not undermine her piece in any way before anyone jumps in with the lying and untrustworthy trope.

That article about the Guardian is disgusting although not really surprising, sadly. They pushed out so-called "radical feminists", now it's "the Jews" turn. Who will be next? I'm guessing NOT white men like little OJ.

Wow

That man has nailed it.

That was an amazing speech that covered all the bases. He seems to know the history of everything and understands the politics going on currently. Every country needs politians that can use logic and critical thinking like that. Then maybe all the unrest and conflicts around the world would be solved.

Can we hack everyone's phones so idiots and haters get to see that speech. It mabe aimed at people in Germany but others need to see how he sums everything up.

After the march?
I don't recall seeing that figure.
