Placards from antisemitic marches in London

I had written this as a response to the other thread which was closed as it was overrun by antisemitic d**ks. As I'm sure this one will be too. They can't allow us to share the truth of what is being said and done in our own home towns and cities.

Look at these images. No, they are not in the minority or unusual. Here are just a few of many, many overtly antisemitic placards from Saturday's protest in London. (And a bonus one from 2021, which the lovely John McDonnell also spoke at.)

This is MY HOME. I am Jewish. My family fled pogroms in Eastern Europe and Nazis in Germany. Those family members who didn't flee were murdered for being Jews. And here we fucking are again. In London. And people defending it.

This is NOTHING TO DO WITH ISRAEL. These are Jew-haters, the faces of hate, the faces of anger and mockery, openly calling for Jews, for me, my family, my children, my parents, to be murdered, in my home city.

And people are defending it. How the fuck do you think we feel?

It's shocking. If it's not anti Semitic then why are they there, I wonder?

Once again, the denial is appalling.

I see that Stars of David were graffitied all over Jewish buildings in Paris last night, along with the same slogans.

Stars of David have been found graffitied on buildings in the Paris area, in acts that political leaders have said "recall the 1930s".
Some 60 Stars of David were painted on walls in the 14th arrondissement of Paris on Monday night.
France is grappling with a big rise in antisemitic incidents.
More than 850 such acts have been reported in France since the Hamas attacks in Israel on 7 October, says Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin.
Paris authorities announced that an investigation into degradation of property aggravated by racist intent would be launched.
"I am crying, because I am once again seeing the hate that we received when I was a child," a resident of one of the buildings graffitied told the broadcaster BFMTV. "I can't understand it."
In a statement, the mayoralty of the 14th arrondissement wrote that the acts "recall the events of the 1930s... which led to the extermination of millions of Jews".
Emmanuel Grégoire, deputy to Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, said the stars would be removed and an investigation launched.
"Antisemitism continues to kill," Mr Grégoire said. "We will never give up the fight."

Similar graffiti was also found in Parisian suburbs including Vanves, Fontenay-aux-Roses, Aubervilliers and Saint-Ouen. The stars were sometimes accompanied by inscriptions such as "from the river to the sea, Palestine will win," according to reports.
The Mayor of Saint-Ouen, Karim Bouamrane, called for the authors of the "antisemitic and racist" graffiti in his city to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
Prosecutors have cautioned, however, that it is still unclear whether the stars are antisemitic in nature.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne condemned what she termed "disgraceful acts".
The sharp rise in antisemitic incidents worries 83% of French people, a poll for BFMTV found.

This bit though:
Prosecutors have cautioned, however, that it is still unclear whether the stars are antisemitic in nature.

I'm starting to see that for some people, literally nothing can be described as antisemitic, even when it's as absolutely blatant and overt as this.

I used to think people just didn't understand. But I'm starting to see that there are a lot of people for whom it's axiomatic. Nothing is antisemitic. Jews are always fair game.

I watched this video before going to sleep last night and it broke my heart hearing the elderly lady interviewed at 1:03.

Also note there are many marches and protests all over the country with different organisers

This means that it's very possible to do some research and make sure you're attending a march that isn't organised by racists or terrorist sympathisers, who are aiming to harm UK society. Personal responsibility matters.

Yes this is one of my main issues with the marches. It is really rather telling that people are willing to march along side Jew haters on marches organised by groups or individuals that have never hidden their antisemitism

Seriously I don't even donate to a charity until I check them out. The idea of going on a protest without understanding who has organised it or even worse not caring about the racist views of who has organised it, this is beyond appauling. Then the useful idiots complain the government and general public call the protests hate marches!

Stomacharmeleon · 01/11/2023 15:59

@Parkingt111 I don't need you to respond....
As if you would check out the March you are on and make sure there are no antisemitic placards.... walk away.... go to another city.... and join another.

Poor lady.... I hope it makes people think about the rhetoric they are using.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 01/11/2023 16:42

I don't understand why everybody and their cousin feels qualified to tell Jewish people just what they can be offended about and what they have the right to perceive as antisemitic. But they do

This - and the denial - is something I've been writing about for years, and it would be so good if even one person explained why just about any other minority's word is often automatically accepted but a jewish person's word not

Nobody ever does though ...

Heartbreaking, totally Heartbreaking

I will say again what I never thought I would find myself saying. I am glad my grandmother is dead.

The thought of her seeing all this Jew hate is beyond dreadful

Trulywonderful · 01/11/2023 16:52

Also kind of relevant for the Hamas are resistance fighters and fighting for the Palestinian Citizens thinking people. An interview just done that the media are reporting:

Ghazi Hamad, deputy foreign minister for Hamas, boasted their slaughter of 1,400 Israelis inside their homes or as they fled a festival 'destroyed the myth of Israel as a military superpower'.

Hamas leader dismisses Gaza civilian deaths as 'a necessary price in blood' and boasts that the terror group has 'demonstrated that Israel is beatable… we are changing the Middle East'

Everything he has said Hamas has said similar before

So frankly as we don't see signs demonising Hamas and asking them to ceasefire on the marches one can only assume that people are there for very dodgy reasons. Else are just ignorant western useful idiots!

😔 so sad.

Uricon2 · 01/11/2023 16:53

I can't cope with people minimising the effect of these actions, on real people including Holocaust survivors. I am quite sure if there were placards with slurs against their particular grouping, or their houses were targeted in such a way, there would be horror, anger and fear rather than whataboutery and minimisation.

Peablockfeathers · 01/11/2023 16:57

Hamas leader dismisses Gaza civilian deaths as 'a necessary price in blood

This isn't surprising considering how they've treated them prior to all of this, a fact plenty seem to be missing. Any Civilian deaths are a tragedy and of course the ideal solution is peace, but it's not realistic sadly. The reason the situation is as bad as it is seems to be because neither 'side' cares much about the civilians in Gaza, this also makes any resolution and way forward tricky.

I wonder why there are no placards denouncing Hamas. That's a good point

Have any of these marchers chanted for hostage release or for Hamas to give shelter to Palestinians in the extensive tunnels they built, with all the money they have amassed?

Trulywonderful · 01/11/2023 17:05

Riot police raid family home of convicted fraudster over Pro-Palestinian McDonald's stunt that saw box of mice thrown onto floor of restaurant in Birmingham

Oh the irony of this one will be lost on the useful western idiots 🤔

Xenia · 01/11/2023 17:30

Even if people do not agree with me (and the US and UK Government) that our support for Israel is support for Western democrative values, surely the recent marches show what kinds of people are amongst us and what we have chosen to allow to be harboured here.

Yup, just saw this footage of a Jewish student being targeted at Harvard, it's absolutely shocking.

But anti-Zionism isn't antisemitism, so we're told.

I remember how bad things got in 2021 all the violent attacks in America. Also have heard how antisemitism is rising there year after year before that.

This time around I have deliberately been trying not to look at what is happening in America. I can't stomach it again.

The article wads on BBC website which is how I saw it.

It says Jews make up only about 2.4% of the US public, they account for about 60% of all religious-based hate crimes.

And this was before this latest conflict!

These students should be permanently excluded

That is harassment and racism

So I explain why this country has been harbouring so many Jew haters and my comment gets deleted. I guess someone got pissy and hates the country so much they'd rather not have people like me have free speech. I'm really not surprised. This is Mumsnet. I've given my views on this whole thing, so I'm out. Don't even @ at me.

What has that got to do with a conversation about if signs are antisemitic? Nothing

Just like it has nothing to do with breastfeeding or parenting. The thread us on the middle eastern board because the protests these signs appeared at was about a middle eastern conflict. However that is where the connection ends. The thread isn't to debate the conflict or try to guilt people for daring to talk about a different topic for a few minutes. It is about whether the signs are antisemitic. Therefore your posts just look a bit iffy and off topic

A bit iffy????
it is relevant. All these events are related. The massive bomb attack on tents is not going to help relations. Having said that only stupid people will attack innocent Muslims or Jews who have no control over events.

noblegiraffe · 01/11/2023 21:32

That cannot be ignored by covering up with another topic

Are you suggesting that this thread is an attempt to cover up what is going on in Gaza? Confused
