Placards from antisemitic marches in London

I had written this as a response to the other thread which was closed as it was overrun by antisemitic d**ks. As I'm sure this one will be too. They can't allow us to share the truth of what is being said and done in our own home towns and cities.

Look at these images. No, they are not in the minority or unusual. Here are just a few of many, many overtly antisemitic placards from Saturday's protest in London. (And a bonus one from 2021, which the lovely John McDonnell also spoke at.)

This is MY HOME. I am Jewish. My family fled pogroms in Eastern Europe and Nazis in Germany. Those family members who didn't flee were murdered for being Jews. And here we fucking are again. In London. And people defending it.

This is NOTHING TO DO WITH ISRAEL. These are Jew-haters, the faces of hate, the faces of anger and mockery, openly calling for Jews, for me, my family, my children, my parents, to be murdered, in my home city.

And people are defending it. How the fuck do you think we feel?

Well, in the short term we need an end to the violence of Hamas and the Israeli government. The long term solution is not something an actor can come up with in a post on X.

Well it’s a classic victim blaming move to blame the people who are pointing out prejudice against them, and Jews have been on the receiving end of this tactic for centuries.

Why is it OPs responsibility to condemn the IDF. Is she part of the Israeli military?

I agree that Netanyahu is a lunatic and needs to be stopped. Lots of Israelis feel that wsy too from blogs I have read. But putting a Hitler moustache on him? The placard saying "BiBiC" and the anti-Semitic trope that plays into? Unacceptable and does nothing but discredit those marching with such placards.

Also I don't in any way support banning the marches. That would be very wrong. But something needs to be done to stop the small percentage of people who are displaying anti-Semitic placards.

Then maybe it's completely pointless posting some wishy washy platitudes. And I read though some of the comments just there, he hardly got 'attacked' for it. People just said why aren't you calling out war crimes and the actual real issues behind it all instead of pretending that Israel agreeing to take the hostages back and stopping bombing everything will somehow make things OK.

People not posting on your particular thread does not mean people don't care.

People can care about more than one thing. I don't know why you and others seem to think Jewish people are not allowed to feel upset about anti-Semitism because there are other things going on on the world.

I don't think that is true. This thread is about the anti-Semitism of those placards, so that is what is mainly being discussed here. There are plenty of other threads on this board expressing horror and dismay about what is happening.

I've seen people say that posts like this are useful and should be left up as they show how much antisemitism is around. I'm not so sure.

I think there is such a thing as too much. We know how rife antisemitism is. Given it a platform just amplifies it.

Do you go on other threads to chastise posters for not caring enough? Do you go on threads for people talking about domestic violence to tell them that they are more upset about that than people being killed in Palestine? What about people asking for parenting advice, on complaining about their neighbours parking? Do you go on the style and beauty forum for example, do ask why they're talking about their new dress and not Palestine? Or is only when there's a thread about anti-Semitism that it's deemed not bad enough to talk about?

At this point it’s a purity spiral, policing other people’s thoughts and their expressions of them. The left are particularly guilty of this. It’s not enough to be well-meaning and caring if you don’t give the right performance.

Given that he was criticised for mentioning hostages and Gazans in the wrong order you can see how petty it is.

To be honest, having just looked at some of the replies to the tweet (bleurgh), I think his 'crime' was mentioning the hostages at all.

I mean this can be done without being antisemitic, the placards are from marches in the privileged West so not sure what point you're making? I'd hope islamaphobia and racism was called out, it'd be next if people extended the same to antisemitism, no? Once again, people can call out Israel without being antisemitic which affects all Jews.

I've just seen the interview on Channel 4 News with Ben Jamal the CEO of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, the organisation behind these marches. Bloody hell, you'd have to be an absolute bloody idiot to go along and support them.

This is what people are marching for, whether they know it or not. Straight from the horses mouth, for Israel not to exist.

For Israel not to exist, Jews need to not exist. Ethnic Jews are Israeli. They are calling for the death of Jews, the destruction of Judaism and the erasure of Israel from the map. It's very clear, they just don't have the balls to spell it out word for word.

It's in their damn charter for God's sake.
