Be ashamed of yourselves

That’s right be ashamed of yourselves. I come in these threads thinking I’ll read someone saying what’s happening to the people of Palestine is awful but what I end up reading is people saying they brought it on themselves because they elected Hamas.

So, what if they elected Hamas. We elected the Conservative party but they don’t speak for me, they certainly don’t act on behalf of the everyday citizen of this country. Be ashamed of yourselves for not valuing the lives of Palestinians but putting so much value on the lives of Israelis.

be ashamed of yourselves for justifying the ethnic cleansing of over 2 million people because Hamas attacked Israel in early October. Be ashamed of yourselves for standing for genocide in 2023!

be ashamed of yourselves for saying we would never allow the holocaust to happen again yet Palestinians are held in an open air prison. It’s literally been called a concentration camp, with no way in or out and they are being rampaged with bombs, white phosphorus bombs being dropped on them non stop. On Sunday night 400 died because of the bombs, over 2000 children are now dead. Be ashamed of yourselves for justifying their deaths and blaming them for it.

be ashamed of yourselves for condoning the protestors for wanting Palestinians to have a right to live a peaceful existence.

be ashamed for bringing history into justifying the slaughter of so many people. Yes, Palestinians did welcome Israelis into the holy land in the 1940’s, it doesn’t mean they get to die now. Yes, Israel has a right to exist, but that doesn’t mean Palestine doesn’t. Yes, Israel has land grabbed and continues to do so but no one is allowed to say anything. Yes, their is no Hamas in the West Bank but why are the Palestinian still being killed. Why are so many people illegally arrested mainly kids - held for decades in Israel prisons. Are they not hostages? Yea, Israel asked asked the Palestinians to move to the south with 24 hours notice for their ‘safety’ yet they are being killed in the south.

be ashamed if you ask any one who stands to defend the rights of Palestinians if they condemn Hamas. Everyone condemns Hamas. Being pro Palestinian doesn’t mean your pro-Hamas. I also condemn the barbarian acts of genocide committed by Israel. I condemn the open displays of hate for Palestinian people - calling them human animals etc.

Be ashamed if you think it’s so great they are letting a trickle of aid in but no fuel to run hospitals. Electricity ran out last night in the hospital. So many babies reliant in incubators will die as a result. be ashamed if you think it’s okay for world leaders to not call for a ceasefire and instead show 100% support to what Israel
is doing.

no one has the right to hold one life more dearer than another.

you should be ashamed of yourselves for valuing some over others.

No you haven’t answered @EasterIssland. You’ve just avoided the question and won’t condemn the terrorists.

So it should be easy for you to answer the question here then @EasterIssland. Do you condemn the Hamas terrorist atrocity. Yes or no?

I do condemn them
Hostages should be released

This is how it feels right now though watching the massacre Israel is committing right now
INDISCRIMINATE BOMBING
thousands of children murdered
Half a population displaced
Bombing of safe zones in the south
Murdering in the night after cutting off all forms of communication

Meadowfly · 28/10/2023 10:18

Parking - are you in Gaza? Are you the woman in the picture? I’m not asking the bereaved and terrified mothers in Palestine. I’m asking the people on this thread, from their safe homes behind their keyboards. Surely something as basic and humane as condemning Hamas and their barbarism 2 weeks ago is worth repeating.

Thisworld - which side are you applying that to - it’s the same for both!!

and why will none of you say what you think Hamas should do next?

I must have condemned them a 100 times on every single thread I have been on
The hostages must be released immediately
They are innocent people

Right now there is a massacre, thousands of civilians trapped under rubble
Do you condemn what Israel is doing?
Or do you justify their barbarism in the name of self-defence?

Parkingt111 · 28/10/2023 10:27

@Meadowfly what sort of inhumane scum army bombs bakeries knowing full well that people are starving
Children are starving
Not Hamas bakeries but UN bakeries. The collective punishment of the people of Gaza is a war crime

Be ashamed of yourselves

We should just ignore all these people coming onto this thread asking if we condemn Hamas. As I said in my opening statement everyone condemns Hamas. It’s like they are trying to get the thread deleted.

don’t give them your time.

Yes, I was just about to say this, deflection and whataboutery.

@Parkingt111 I would ignore that poster, it isn't up to us to say what Hamas should or shouldn't do next, it seems like a bizarre attempt to detail the thread, or continue the disgusting accusations that anyone supporting Palestine supports Hamas.

People have said countless times they condemn Hamas. They do not need to keep saying it.

Wow. That's really what's happening. I am re-sharing this picture because it sums up so powerfully what's happening.

Thank you.

See reality - this isn’t your private psychological space, it’s an open internet forum. The OPs thread title was ‘be ashamed of yourselves’ and came up on trending - of course people can reply! And much as you don’t want people to ask you questioning so other people don’t like being told to be ashamed. And as for ‘falling in love with every Palestinian child’, unless you are Palestinian or have some connections with them my sympathies are for the innocent people in Palestine and Israel, not for keyboard warriors from far away.

I put the blame squarely at the door of Hamas terrorists. If people invaded the UK and we declared war then we would react in the way we and most nations do in such a case and indeed as the UK did in WWII when we stood up for our democratic values. I hope Israel wins. Thankfully on MN and in the UK we are allowed to express support for Israel as indeed people can express support for Iran and Russia and any of our enemies if they wish.

Do you really think all wars are one sided?
Do you not see that the world is not as black and white as you may perceive it
As the head of UN said himself
This did not happen in a vacuum

"Wins". It's mind-boggling how anyone can look at Gaza and see this as winning.
I don't think Israel is going to be safe for a very, very, very long time, if ever. Whatever happens, it certainly won't be a "win".
I feel sorry for Israeli civilians, I know a lot are horrified at the actions of their government. Their behaviour at the UN shows just how crazed they've become.

How does Israel win in your opinion?

Genuine question, as it appears that their idea of winning is the destruction of Gaza and anyone left in it, they said anyone still left in the north (approx 400,000) is considered a terrorist or a terrorist sympathiser and those who went to the south are being bombed regardless.

The last time Israel "won" they expelled the PLO to Tunisia.... that worked well didn't it?

Yes we all know Hamas kicked off this latest bombardment with their terrible and evil attacks on 7th October but Israel's responses are totally out of proportion now, The Hamas attacks do not justify the deaths and expulsion of 2.1m people.

flufferknutter · 28/10/2023 11:35

A win for this ultra far right nationalist government means killing each and every Palestinian who has the supreme misfortune to find themselves living in Israel, the whole country, not just Gaza or the West Bank.

Let's not be coy, this is obviously their aim because far right nationalists (in any country) don't tolerate other - lesser - races, religions, political viewpoints. This is what fascism is.

Parker231 · 28/10/2023 12:34

No one is going to “win” - there will only be losers recorded by the massive numbers who have been murdered.
What will Israel winning look like for a Palestinian who has already been kept a prisoner by the Israelis and now doesn’t have any freedom or basis of live. Talks have already started about Israel and the war crimes they are currently committing.
Other than the US, the western world is beginning to turn against Israel.

That's weird. Because Israel has elections, with a free vote. Free press, trade unions, women's rights and gay rights. I'm no fan of Netanyahu, but we are talking about a democracy here. Many of us here dislike Sunak and Braverman, but we're free to say so. Netanyahu is being criticised in the Israeli press and will not retain power. He's not equivalent to a Hamas leader, however vile both may be.
You may, with some justification, despise this man, but at least understand what actually goes on.

Converting those who fuel and foment conflict is a bit easier said than done, though. I can't imagine even attempting it with Hamas...

Ooh, a democratic terrorist state how very modern! It's great isn't it, they will allow women and gays equal rights just not Palestinians. Do they just go around pretending that they aren't keeping over 2million people under their strict control in Gaza while patting themselves on the back for giving themselves trade unions? Sounds fabulous, a bit of occupation and apartheid in the morning followed by a Pride parade in the afternoon! There's something for everyone in Israel, they should put that in their YouTube ads.
