This is running on Al Jazeera and others - apparently Israel refused to take back two hostages.

What about children with broken legs and children having surgery with no anaesthesia or some of these children being orphaned?

I don't know if Sky will repeat the report, they often do but I suppose today and for a few days it will be the release of the hostages and prisoners.

I hope you aren't accusing me of making it up. I'm ill in bed so I've been listening to it since about 6 am because I couldn't sleep.

🤦🏻‍♀️ I need sleep. As this thread is about hostages I thought you were saying this about a Palestinian prisoner who was released today. Hence my disbelief!

Poor child. So many awful things happening to so many innocent people. I really didn't mean to minimise his suffering.

I have posted the telegraph report.
This has been news for ages.
Cant believe posters have missed it.

The telegraph
6th November Al shifa hospital
One report of many

Yes, I just explained that I thought she was saying this happened to a Palestinian prisoner, hence my disbelief.

Stomacharmeleon · 24/11/2023 20:29

@StarbucksSmarterSister fingers crossed those who are babies and alone are on that list:

Conditions on the Palestinians being released seem quite draconian. There can't be celebrations, they can't talk about conditions in the prison, they can't talk about their treatment in the prison. Seems like there is something to hide.

Yes, I worry that it won’t be long before they are recaptured.

KingofIthaca · 24/11/2023 20:33

Some more details on the Palestinians released.
Its not specific.
None of the 37 journalists arrested after October 7th ( non of which have been tried for anything ) have been released.
Maybe next time.

Oh no - there are photos on al Jazeera of the released boy prisoners being greeted by guys in full Hamas costume - masked face and green headband

They really don't do themselves any favours - they'll all be banged up again by tomorrow

Livinginanotherworld · 24/11/2023 20:35

KingofIthaca · 24/11/2023 18:30

This from one of the Palestinians released and her father.
But still no clarity on why

This poor girl was jailed at just 16 years old and held for 8years. Allegedly tried to stab a IDF but no proper trial, I wonder what he was doing to cause her to try and defend herself ?

Efacsen · 24/11/2023 20:37

@KingofIthaca the journalists would be too old - no males over 19 - unless they are female journalists

It’s not their fault who greats them.
Lets hope common sense prevails.

Livinginanotherworld · 24/11/2023 20:38

Efacsen · 24/11/2023 18:54

Yes it's about not being joyful exuberant in public - the sub-text is preventing civil unrest

Like you said earlier no-one is going to be visiting them at home to see if he is happy and smiling

Sadly I wouldn’t be too sure of that.

Photos of the released prisoners waving Hamas flags as crowd cheers too

One prisoner released been declared dead in a Gaza bombing by Hamas days ago. He was in fact sat in prison. As he has been for quite some time.

Iwasafool · 24/11/2023 20:38

OhHelloTheres · 24/11/2023 19:34

So someone has worms crawling around in their brain while still alive? I can't seem to find this report anywhere

This doesn't sound like you were just referring to prisoners released today, you were questioning someone having worms crawling round in their brain while still alive.

True.
I doubt she’s allowed to discuss it though. The family have already been threatened.

I already explained what I meant.

And yes, I don't think he had worms crawling around but you then explained it was possibly a mistranslation of maggots, which I accepted

Let's hope not. That could stop the whole release of prisoners and hostages.

Stomacharmeleon · 24/11/2023 20:41

@Efacsen I know we Don't always see eye to eye but I admire the fact you do that.

Parkingt111 · 24/11/2023 20:46

Is the hostage release happening at the same time again tomorrow?

Efacsen · 24/11/2023 20:50

Livinginanotherworld · 24/11/2023 20:38

Sadly I wouldn’t be too sure of that.

If they visit them at home it will be to re-arrest them

Look at the other stuff I've posted about not heeding the 'no celebrations' edict - they're out celebrating, waving forbidden flags and being photographed with guys in full Hamas get up

No-one needs to go into their homes to check if they're celebrating - they're absolutely flaunting it to the world

Efacsen · 24/11/2023 20:55

Yes I posted about the en masse street celebrations earlier

It's so self-destructive

And all planned by their community who should be invested in keeping them on the straight and narrow and out of prison

Is the died in Gaza/actually in prison a clerical error - using age not dob?

No doubt they will and I understand why they are doing it, why shouldn't they celebrate? As I said above if the Israelis go in and start rearresting them it will likely bring the whole deal crashing down.

I don't think the wider community got the memo, or they could not contain their joy. I do worry for them, but Israel may let it pass if there's no violence.

I don't think so - it often happens this way

And after all Israel has kept their side of the bargain - they released them in line with the agreement

And now they've committed new offences

Have the hostages committed new offences or is the wider community celebrating?
