This is running on Al Jazeera and others - apparently Israel refused to take back two hostages.

🤦🏻‍♀️ I need sleep. As this thread is about hostages I thought you were saying this about a Palestinian prisoner who was released today. Hence my disbelief!

Poor child. So many awful things happening to so many innocent people. I really didn't mean to minimise his suffering.

Its not specific.
None of the 37 journalists arrested after October 7th ( non of which have been tried for anything ) have been released.

Oh no - there are photos on al Jazeera of the released boy prisoners being greeted by guys in full Hamas costume - masked face and green headband

They really don't do themselves any favours - they'll all be banged up again by tomorrow

This poor girl was jailed at just 16 years old and held for 8years. Allegedly tried to stab a IDF but no proper trial, I wonder what he was doing to cause her to try and defend herself ?

@KingofIthaca the journalists would be too old - no males over 19 - unless they are female journalists

One prisoner released been declared dead in a Gaza bombing by Hamas days ago. He was in fact sat in prison. As he has been for quite some time.

This doesn't sound like you were just referring to prisoners released today, you were questioning someone having worms crawling round in their brain while still alive.

If they visit them at home it will be to re-arrest them

Look at the other stuff I've posted about not heeding the 'no celebrations' edict - they're out celebrating, waving forbidden flags and being photographed with guys in full Hamas get up

No-one needs to go into their homes to check if they're celebrating - they're absolutely flaunting it to the world

Yes I posted about the en masse street celebrations earlier

It's so self-destructive

And all planned by their community who should be invested in keeping them on the straight and narrow and out of prison

Conditions on the Palestinians being released seem quite draconian. There can't be celebrations, they can't talk about conditions in the prison, they can't talk about their treatment in the prison.

According to the news, they appear to have done all of those things. No doubt they'll moan if they get rearrested

No doubt they will and I understand why they are doing it, why shouldn't they celebrate? As I said above if the Israelis go in and start rearresting them it will likely bring the whole deal crashing down.

I don't think the wider community got the memo, or they could not contain their joy. I do worry for them, but Israel may let it pass if there's no violence.

And after all Israel has kept their side of the bargain - they released them in line with the agreement

And now they've committed new offences
