The 'rules'

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended)

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Resist the lure of ovulation predictor kits, Taking Control of Your Fertility and the dreaded First Repsonse. Knowing where you are in your cycle is entirely permissible though!

Going to the doctor is permitted if you've had a stupidly long cycle but beware of the dildo-cam-scan.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Hello taking! Well done on getting the cheapy piss sticks - you need them! Yup, frak name-changed when she got herself up the duff but she's most definitely preggo!

I have decided to be a thread whore and just jump between this, the April board, and the Hello Viroids JS thread (neat name gormers).

Today is Telling The Family Day. Going to docs 8am to have it confirmed. Ringing my mum either right now (she's an early riser) or straight after that. PILs are arriving, unawares, at 10am. Then this evening I'll call my dad and we'll call our siblings. I keep waking at 6 which apart from boobs which only hurt if I press them really hard Grin and a gurgly and twingy tummy is basically my only symptom. And that's probably only because I feel like it's Christmas morning every day!

Not doing a good job of hiding it from friends. I forgot to go to my friend's summer picnic yesterday, after I forgot her 1st wedding anniversary last week (I was a bridesmaid), so to get myself off the hook I've 'fessed up. Another one bullied me by text until I told her ... and don't get me started on the drinking scenarios. How the hell I'm going to explain my sobriety I have no idea!

JosieSmith1 · 16/08/2010 09:29

Ha ha takethat, well worth it though!

I can technically POAS now as I'm 4 days before ERTD is due but I'm going to be strong and wait until Thu/Fri.

I didn't think I really minded either way this month but now I'm desperate for it to be positive!

BrassicaBabe · 16/08/2010 09:54

Welcome NervousNelly It's good to have you along. Hmm for OH agreeing to the thread though Grin We're all secrety MNers here I think. I'd die a death if DH read my musings and mentalness!

takethat you are pregnant; stop peeing on things! Grin I hope you have a lovely day telling your family.

Good to see you back in the fold taking (And you are younger than me if that helps Wink)

Nooooooo Josie step away from the early tests. Hang in there. Come and share your mentalness here instead. We could do with the giggle Grin

Well, I'm entering the madness of the 2ww! We took shagging seriously this month. We've managed to JS on 3 days straight. I may have ov'ed yesterday based on OPKs, but I have to pee on sticks all day just to catch a single Smile so I don't particularly trust them. Today is CD 14 so I might try to persuade DH tonight as well. This is our 6th month "at it" so I have to hope this is it. But equally I need a slap with the offical thread wet kipper and to be told not to be so stooopid and hang on to start the clomid next cycle.

I'm going to be proper mental in 14 days viroids! Hold me down!

JosieSmith1 · 16/08/2010 10:57

Brassica you're not alone! I was ridiculous last month and wasted a ton of money on tests but I've managed to hang on this month although I can feel the temptation rising! We should arrange a specific day and time this weekend and we can all POAS together Grin and then come straight on here after 3mins and share.

Had a weird moment last night when I'd drank waaay too much tea and was wriggling my stomach so it gurgled, then DH put his hand on it so he could feel it, was a bit like him feeling a baby kick, made me a bit sad but excited all at the same time! And made us giggle!

loopeylu · 16/08/2010 12:04

Takethatlady - Congratulations! Delighted you've made it to the other side. I'm going to make sure I hang around for Gormers' thread on the grad board.

Good luck with Ruskin - couldn't face writing on him, much to my tutor's disappointment. Still couldn't get away with not reading about him though. Which uni are you at and are you doing an MA?

Keep up the JS-ing ladies - this is approach clearly has results..!

vallinnapod · 16/08/2010 12:21

Am all alone in the waiting room today. Another didlocam awaits me...

BrassicaBabe · 16/08/2010 12:23

Hiya vallinna. Is dildocam to confirm foilicles? Are you allowed to SWI?

vallinnapod · 16/08/2010 12:40

It is. Still waiting...people who arrived afterw being seen before me. No doubt seeing someone different but I just sit here getting cross. 10 mins late...

BrassicaBabe · 16/08/2010 12:46

Text just received from DH:"That's 3 our of 4 nights done...1 to go!lol x"

Hmmand Confused with a little bit of Grin

BrassicaBabe · 16/08/2010 12:58

our out

vallinnapod · 16/08/2010 13:10

Stupid f-ing body. No change since Wednesday :( they took blood and will call me tonight to let me know if it's just a long cycle or if I am not going to ovulate. I can't tell you how much I hate my own body right now. So frustrated I could cry!

BrassicaBabe · 16/08/2010 13:30

Sorry vallinna You have every right to have a frustrated cry!

NervousNelly · 16/08/2010 13:32

Oh Brassica don?t think he knows about the thread itself ? well I hope not!!!! It?s more the spirit of it. Mind you, I decided to download an iphone App called Periodtracker as I?m rubbish at remembering when things started/stopped etc. Unfortunately an hour later OH picked up my phone and decided I needed an alarm app, so went on to my app store and of course the previous search results are the first thing he saw?he didn?t mention it but I?m sure he?s beginning to wonder what he has let himself in for Wink

Well quite a rollercoaster of emotions in the first 24 hours of JS?.The whole question of whether we are going to have children or not has been hanging over us (me?) for a good 18 months. I was so excited yesterday (can you tell :)) but despite my best efforts, OH wasn?t interested in the fun part of the process. I tried all the usual tricks ? took a shower so smelt of his favourite shower gel; asked him to rub lotion in my back whilst only wrapped in a towel; laid down on the bed for an ?afternoon nap?; walked into the living room topless ?oooh I think the top I need is in the ironing bag here?. Hmmm, blind oaf never even lifted his eyes from his new geeky phone.

So another night of crap sleep whilst I tossed and turned and decided he must have changed his mind. He is ALWAYS up for shagging, why change now? There was no way I was going to be obvious about it though, as I have a feeling his agreement is still in the fragile stages.

However today, I found the perfect excuse to mention it again (job related) and he agreed that I should stay where I am as it will be better for my maternity benefit. Yeah, he?s still on board!!!

So tonight I just need to be less subtle in my advances. ?Fancy a shag luv?? ought to do it. My iphone tells me now is the time LOL (I didn?t even have to pee on it)

milanomum · 16/08/2010 13:47

LOL at Nelly not having to pee on phone! (and 'hello'!)

I'm back properly after faffing around all over the place this summer. Defo not pregnant this month as wasn't even in same country as DH over fertile week, so hoping to make up for it this month :)

takethat huge, huge congrats although i'm going to miss your delirious rantings knowledgable advice so hope you come over to say hello sometimes!

Nelly don't worry about your man - Blokes just don't get it. they are oblivious to the world of cycles and reproduction. they just want a shag. :o

JosieSmith1 · 16/08/2010 13:49

Aw vallina sorry you're having such a s**y time

milanomum · 16/08/2010 13:56

hang on! just read some old posts and can't believe gormers and ihaveaplan have graduated!!

sorry to everyone who's had bad luck too...:(

BrassicaBabe · 16/08/2010 14:01

Hiya milano welcome back! That went quickly.

You are right, I've been surprised by how little DH knows about the ins and outs BlushWink of ttc! The whole 14 day then Ov, 14 day then test thing seems to have come as a total Confused for him. I think he thought ov was a total lottery! Well, maybe it is! Grin

NervousNelly · 16/08/2010 14:25

Vallina Sorry for what you (and others) are going through, it's frustrating when you can't control things isn't it :(

Thanks for the welcome Milano. You are right, OH is clueless, but I think at this stage I'd freak him out if I even whispered the ov word for him. However, I have worked out that during my next cycle (if it's as regular as normal, plus going by the iphone Wink) my ov time will be right at the beginning of our holiday!! Hotel sex is always a winner for us (in terms of frequency, no idea how successful it will be in terms of pg obviously Hmm)

JosieSmith1 · 16/08/2010 15:03

OMG I'm desperate to do an early test! Must take my mind off it by browsing the internet doing some work and then tonight I will throw myself into houseowrk and riding, well maybe not housework so much

NervousNelly · 16/08/2010 15:24

Josie are you me? Apart from actually being in a position to test, you sound just like me!

JosieSmith1 · 16/08/2010 15:30

Ha ha Nelly maybe!

I'm very very impatient as everyone who knows me will tell you. When I want something I get it, except of course in situations like now, when I can't do anything more to get pg! I want to find out I'm pg then have the baby there and then cos I want everything now!

Me and my best mate were discussing yesterday how people who don't want kids get pg accidentally first time, yet people like us who really want to get pg find it difficult! It's not fair! Then she said her mam took 5 years to get pg with her twin sisters! I nearly passed out!

NervousNelly · 16/08/2010 17:31

5 years is a lot Josie! But if it was twins, does that count as "only" 2.5 years each Hmm

The internet-surfing-when-should-be-working and riding-when-should-be-cleaning are awfully familiar too!

I'm still in the early stages so haven't got round to comparing my experiences with careless teenagers yet, but having watched my sister go through it all, (delighted to say she now has a 4 month old son :) ) I does seem that, as they say, youth is wasted on the young. Confused. Now that does make me sound old Grin

BrassicaBabe · 16/08/2010 20:00

Someone read my signs.....

  • JS'ed on days 11, 12, 13 and 14 (well, I'm on a promise for tonight)
  • I had a + OPK on CD12.
  • I found pant snot on CD12
  • Watery CM on days CD13 and 14

S-U-R-E-L-Y there was nothing more to do and this month has got to be it. I'm even cutting down on my alcohol drinking! This is month 6 and I'm getting bored frustrated

Thread kipper being removed from fridge as we speak....

NervousNelly · 17/08/2010 07:13

Well we are now officially nervously entering the 2WW. Chances are slim, given we've had just the one attempt and OH now away for a couple of days, but no doubt I'll be as irrational as the rest of you soon Confused

JosieSmith1 · 17/08/2010 08:24

Good luck Nervous! I was fine in the beginning of 2ww but now that I'm close to testing I'm driving myself mad! Was convinced I was pg last night as I went to the toilet 4 times within an hour after 1 cup of tea and that's very rare for me. Plus the smell of my leftover fish and chips knocked me sick. I could of course be suffering a placebo effect and will get a BFN this weekend and feel like a t*t! Grin

And there's a sickness bug going around so that could explain some of it. Sad

I might have gone mad by friday!
