sorry you're in a similiar position delilah, it does suck doesn't it. i was torn between waiting for af before trying again, and wanting to get on with the trying! lucky dh was away the crucial days which took the decision out of my hands really.

hope everyone's doing well! looking forward to a sunny, warm weekend...hope it's the same wherever you are, with lots of SFF, SWI and POAS'ing for all!

ljg72 · 09/07/2010 13:44

Hello all!, well it's nearly testing time for those at the front of the bus!!!, good luck to all!.

I used CBFM for the first time this month, and got high and 2 peak days, managed to BD on all except the last peak!, so hoping it was enough?...actually got results from POAS cheapie ebay ov sticks too! thats a first .

Wishing everybody a lovely weekend!.

stuffedmk · 09/07/2010 13:46

I just did the 'not trying not to' thing after my mc...to be honest I couldn't really face full on trying at that time. I think if you're ready then you're ready so good luck to you!!!

Am looking forward to the fun week lol having finally seen the back of AF. I really think I'm too hospitable...she seems to spend so long with me

Have loads going on at the moment....Am looking at taking DS out of school and home schooling, which will be one major change. DH is looking into completely changing direction and going to Uni but the most stressful thing for me at the moment.....trying to lose weight I comfort ate a bit too much and now really need to lose a few pounds!!

meliesmummy · 09/07/2010 14:12

Hello..this is my first ever post so sorry if I'm interruting..I'm just after a bit of advice really. I'm TTC my second baby, my daughter is 2 and we caught first time with her without any aids, we just ditched the condoms to see what would happen and got lucky. This time I'm thinking of trying some ovulation sticks, which ones do you recommend? Are the cheapy Amazon ones as good? And does using them make it all a bit clinical? Thanks!

stuffedmk · 09/07/2010 14:20

I get mine from ebay...normally in a bumper pack with preg tests for testing hundreds of days too early every month lol
I like to feel like I can control as much as possible and also when to test. I have had quite varied cycle lengths and I hate getting my hopes up when I get a long cycle.

meliesmummy · 09/07/2010 14:34

Thank you..I just spoke to my husband about it tho and he's not keen on the whole testing thing.. he says it'll make it like work! So I'll have to either be sneaky (not that easy to pee on a stick in secret at the same time every day I imagine!) or just carry as we are and cross my fingers! I've spent enough money on pregnancy tests that I did far too early anyway recently!

takingtheplunge · 09/07/2010 15:22

Still no period and not much in the way of cramps. No sore boobs (which I usually get). Sorely tempted to go and get a test, but still trying to hold out til Monday as periods not clockwork so might just be a slightly longer cycle.
Getting a tad obsessive.

loopymumsy I've got CB digital OV tests too- am going to save them for next cycle (hopefully won't be needed) as this cycle I am supposed to be skipping. And they are tres £££. So no POAS for me after all today.

taking go get that test, we need to know. Do boots still have a special on FR tests? G'wan, g'wan g'wan, you know you want to...

melies I have got by on monitoring CM and OV cramps, so you don't HAVE to use the tests... although POAS is always fun.

stuffedmk glad to hear AF has left the building. Let the SWI commence!

ljg72 good luck with your 2ww, may it go by swiftly with lots of positive symptoms.

As for me, hoping to persuade DH into our 2nd SWI of the day wish me luck

stuffedmk · 09/07/2010 16:51

taking TEST...TEST...TEST!!!!!

Hey Loopy DS is having difficulties at school and we are concerned that the system basically doesn't suit him. Have been reading like mad on Home ed, and are basically thinking that we will probably take him out at the end of this year, unless we get some serious shocks (good ones lol) in his report or parents evening next week. It is scary but I think it is in his best interests to try....the schools are always there if it doesn't work out, but if we leave it any longer I fear it will be too late to get him back on track. He is pretty bright but certainly has some ASD traits, the school want to pursue a statement, as much as anything so that he will have a chance of getting into a smaller secondary school than the one he will go to otherwise. The school has said he works better alone or in small groups so home ed seems a logical jump. His school isn't bad, they are giving him extra help, but he is still struggling. Going from having all day to myself to home eding one child and fingers crossed a new baby at some time soon will be a shock to the system but at least I'll have good reason not to get the housework done lol

takingtheplunge · 09/07/2010 17:29

gonna sneak out later and get one. 2 questions:

if it's -ve is that reliable? Am on CD30 cycles can be up to about 35 days. no idea when I ov'd.

can i do it tonight or does it need to be 1st wee of the day?

excited and nervous. still don't feel periody. Did with DS

ljg72 · 09/07/2010 17:38

Oh go on!!!! test!!!! you are our front runner!!!.

Loopy, thank you I hope we did enough BD, as DP decided he wasn't up to the job yesterday...WTF? and that was my proper ov day!!!, so now am on the 2WW oh how very long it seems!, have a lovely weekend!, I'm sure you will be able to sneak a lazy quiet BD in! .

Delilahbelle this 2WW will seem like forever!, hope you are feeling a bit better, I know how crap it is, I lost our bean in May, sending hugs.
Good luck with the SWI!!, I wasn't having any joy with the ov POAS, so invested on a second hand CBFM from Ebay, just reset it and bought sticks off amazon...this is my first month of using it and it appears to be getting my cycle already!!! but time will tell.

TTPlunge!!! have you been to chemist yet?????

First time on the bus for me, although only not avoiding rather than actively trying.

I'm a bit confused though, according to the due date calculator, if I conceived tonight (!!) I would be due 1st April. But some of you ladies are talking about testing now. Am i misunderstanding something?

OK, to put everyone's mind at rest. A resounding BFN. It was a 25ml one, which I think is v sensitive so think AF will be on it's way as expected. Had to go to local chemist and it cost me 8 freaking euros for one poxy bit of plastic to piss all over and throw in the bin. I am sooooooooo cured of early testing! Weeeell, unless I can persuade my friend to give me her leftover ebay piss sticks now she's pregnant!

So, I think I can still stay on this bus as if I got pregnant next month I'd still be due in April. April's a nice time for a baby. Going to have a glass of wine tonight.

ljg72 · 09/07/2010 20:07

25 ml is standard I think? I got some nhs early 10 ml ones off Ebay, also first response do a test that can be done 5 days before AF due.

Still keeping fx for you!

Hello all,

Been away for the week . DH stayed at home with the DC - a first for all of them. Although I missed them dreadfully, I couldn't help feeling a bit smug at how hard he found it .

Anyway, got back last night and managed our first SWI of this cycle. It's a bit late to be starting, although I don't think I've ov'd yet so hopefully we'll be in with a chance this month. Doing our best to make up for lost time. I'm trying grapefruit juice for the first time this month, which is no trouble as I love it.

Hello to everyone who has joined in the last few days. Sorry to those of you who have recently had mcs. I hope that you have good news soon.

I have decided that if I don't have any luck on this bus then I'm going to make the dreaded appointment with GP. I'm 39 and I can hear a very loud tick tock... I'd rather not have any intervention but I just don't think I can keep hoping. (I'm on cycle 7 but had 2 mcs last year so all in all we've been trying for a vaaary long time.) I feel slightly better now that I've made the decision.

Anyway, we're getting to the good bit of the bus. Roll on those BFPs .
