matumble this happened to me 9 months ago with an ebay cheapie, i got a really obvious line (the background stayed a little pink on the test though) and i didnt get another positive, i contacted the seller on ebay and he said i must not have used it properly (i did) but looking on the internet i found that the strips are notorious for evaps that look like positives. For that reason i wont use strips anymore and have been buying the more expensive ebay cheapies (the ones encased in plastic) and they are fine. I have still got the photos from the evap - i posted them on my profile here and got loads of congrats as everyone else could see it too but it really was just an evap line.
4 months ago i had a chemical pg, got two days of positives (and the odd neg as i tested about 6 times a day) then nothing - AF was 4 days late but came after all - i dont think this is whats happening to you though, see if you get another positive over the course of today, perhaps even try a more reliable test tomorrow morning like First Response as as you know your HCG should be increasing every two days so hopefully you should see something tomorrow - how long till AF is due - do you know?
Really really hope you get a nice clear positive soon though, i know how disappointing it is after the evap and chemical incidents. Good luck though will keep fingers crossed for you that you get a lovely clear BFP today or tomorrow.
Well im just the worst POAS'er ever - i really shouldnt have these things in the house, did one this morning and of course BFN, I only got the initial on the opk exactly a week ago so am only about 6dpo need to wait at least another 5/6 days (repeats mantra to self).
