Hello, is it too late to get the conductor's attention (in my head it's a Routemaster) and leap on the back of this bus?

I am TTC#2, UCL 26-28, CD 19 (I think - do you count day AF shows up as day 1 or day 0? I'm a bit of an amateur, sorry). This is month 3 of TTC and turned 38 last month so getting a bit nervy.

Got PG with DD at first time of asking aged 35 so am a complete novice at this TTC lark!

Prinpo · 19/07/2010 14:35

Welcome, zinnia, yes, day 1 is the day AF turns up. I'm 39 so share your edginess.... Hope this is a lucky bus for you.

Loopy, no I flippin' well did not get any more. Grrr. Survived on rocky road, tiffin and chocolate cake provided by generous fellow passengers - nice to know someone appreciates the importance of chocolate. Went to Tesco's this morning though so panic over.

Impressed by your DH's commitment to the cause. Hope you have a nice big tent with lots of separate compartments . Remember, must turn the light off, must turn the light off.

aideessmum, sorry to hear that AF turned up but glad to to see you still on the bus. Have one of unimummy's cider lollies.

With reference to the sore boobs debate, mine went nuclear last time I was pregnant. It was a real giveaway. Sadly, no sign of that this time. Preparing myself for AF to turn up sometime this weekend. (When I say preparing what I mean, of course, is stocking up one wine ).

delilahbelle · 19/07/2010 14:45

I will not POAS
I will not POAS
I will not POAS

Only 6dpo, I really need to stop wishing my life away, but I really want it to be this time next week! New symptom - nasty taste in mouth. Unable to decide if it's because I am getting over a cold though.

zinnia welcome - we are not all too scarily obsessed, honest.

Loopy If I don't catch this cycle, then my fertile time falls right in the middle of our camping holiday next month. You'll have to let me know any particularly useful tips

Unimummy I can't believe you havn't tested - I am normally going through pee sticks any time from CD24. When are you planning to test?

Prinpo Wine is always good, the one part of AF I look forward too.

UniMummy · 19/07/2010 15:47

Loopy - that has just given me a right giggle!

delilah - I can't believe I havn't either! I'm trying to be realistic so going to try and last till wed. I really don't feel anything pg like though. With DS I didn't get a BFP till about 5.5/6 weeks!! If AF does arrive I am going to live of pate and make more cider lollies pronto.

Fingers crossed for everyone else at the front too.

ljg72 · 19/07/2010 16:01

Hello all!
Aideessmum sorry AF arrived, she is a most unwelcome passenger on this bus! think shes chasing me and will arrive any day but at least we can have some of those cider lollies, and RL WINE!.

Karstan nice one bringing fresh supplies! just when we all need a sugar boost! .

Loopy...symptom spotting? that has got to be the biggest understatement EVER!!!! I am officially going la la here!...actually have no idea anymore totally over analysed everything my body does...google is a baaad thing sometimes ...loving the "Tent" tips, really made me lol! enjoy .

Primpo loving your weekend prep!, may have to follow your lead!, would rather it chilled for 9 months tho....

Delilahbelle, back away from POAS!!! you are the strong one on here! keep the faith sista! if you crumble, we are all doooomed ...says she who has POAS twice today!!!, I'm sure AF is catching up with me, it's day 11dpo, so still in with a small chance? just checked my diary, and didn't get a bfp till day 30 last time, but it didn't stick .

Feeling a bit sorry for myself today (sorry), another sure sigh of AF...how very, very PANTS!!! this ttc lark is very emotionally draining! don't you think...?

zinnia · 19/07/2010 16:02

Thanks Prinpo and delilahbelle - feeling a bit obsessed myself, funnily enough!

Am determined to refrain from POAS until CD28 but my god it's hard (especially in the last few days).

Won a hamper of chocolate (yes, really) this weekend and have managed to hide a couple of bars in readiness for good/bad news next week.

ljg72 · 19/07/2010 16:08

UniMummy can we have extra strong lollies?, to take the edge off ...Mmmm pate and crusty bread, totally lush...

How good are you, wish I could stop myselp POAS, only making myself feel crap!.

Heres to BFP all round .

Prinpo · 19/07/2010 16:17

Oooh, sounds like this ttc malarky is getting to us all a bit at the moment. Perhaps it's the heat.

Roll on some BFPs.

Look after yourself, everyone. We'll all get there, it may just be one of those journeys where you have to change bus a few times.

delilahbelle · 19/07/2010 16:52

ljg am I not meant to be eating pate?! DH bought some with the weekly shop, and I had a pate and french stick roll for lunch.

This is a very useful site - reading the pregnancy test stats might help you. According to them nearly 25% of pregnant people on 11dpo will get a BFN - so hope is not yet dead.

Prinpo I like your attitude - even if this month isn't for us, at least there will be some friendly faces on the next bus.

Karstan · 19/07/2010 16:59

I think for me ttc is hard because I've never done something before that I feel I've had so little control over!

Up to now, most things have been more effort in = good end result. But ttc doesn't work like that and it's all a bit of a lottery!

I did make a list of good reasons not to conceive this month to try and get out of this negative headspace, e.g. I'm not as ready as I'd like to be we're only trying because of the news I got earlier in the year, still waiting to buy a house, pregnant free holiday in September etc. etc

delilahbelle · 19/07/2010 17:17

I agree Karstan, it's that lack of control which makes this whole process suck.

I have just counted my tests. I have 4 preg tests in the house.

So... one for 10dpo. One for 12dpo. One for 14dpo.
And a spare I can use before then if I have to.
Must resist the lure of the pee-stick....

ljg72 · 19/07/2010 17:57

Delilahbelle pate contains too much animal form of vitamin A, so should be avoided during pregnancy, should be ok until BFP tho...? thanks for the link, will have a look later .

Karstan your so right! it is the total lack of control, that gets you down, It would seem I have "all the gear" and no idea! lol (CBFM, Preseed, charting, man) seems I was being a tad impatient expecting it all to work 1st time!.

Primpo good PMA .

zinnia · 19/07/2010 20:09

OK, so just spent best part of an hour wrestling with hysterical toddler. Someone remind me why I am so desperate to do this all over again?

Now have a glass of pink wine (dregs from fridge) so feel like Bad (wannabe) Mother to boot.

Oh and have had stomach cramps all day. Is this a) possibly good sign; b) possibly bad sign; or c) wind? Answers on a postcard please...

zinnia · 19/07/2010 20:28

Just realised it must be quite bad form to moan about dd on a ttc thread. Can't believe I've only been here 5 mins and put my food in it already. Sorry everyone.

delilahbelle · 19/07/2010 20:28

I'm going with c) wind zinnia
Although I have ovary area cramps, sore boobs and a naasty taste in my mouth, they could all be explained away.
4days until 1st test

mrswill · 19/07/2010 20:30

Im not sure if I can join this bus, or have to wait for the May one. But am too impatient and feel sick with excitement to join a bus and get started on this ttc lark [sad emoticon].

Am TTC no2, Cycle 1, UCL 29-30, and am not sure what CD is, but in the interests of full TMI disclosure Im on the second day of AF . Am starting to get obsessed already, even though we're yet to actually ttc. Had an 'accident' last month, and in the 30 secs of waiting for the BFN, in my head, I was already weighing up the pro's and con's of VBAC, decided on VBAC, purchased the hypnobirthing cd, and was thinking of names . I think I need to get a grip.

Prinpo · 19/07/2010 20:31

zinnia, pink wine, yum.

I know what you mean about sometimes wondering why you're so desperate to do it all again. Ours are 5 and 7 so at a really easy stage. Sometimes I wonder why on earth we want to go back to the baby/toddler stage. Still, having children at all is a pretty non-rational thing to do. It's just not that sort of decision for me.

Stomach cramps can be a good sign (in a not wanting to get your hopes up kind of way). But, yep, could be wind too .

ljg72 I will get on with some vino lollies asap, hows that? And a vodka watermelon?

My amazing restraint is no longer amazing, poas and got a BFN. Clear as day Maybe it will be like with DS, just a late positive. Serves me right really as I knew wat it would say. Fingers sill crossed... Not over till AF appears!

zinnia · 19/07/2010 20:42

Ooh Loopymumsy they do (did) make open top Routemasters, there was a no. 23 that ran on sunny days until a few years back. I once saw it going down Oxford Street, phoned DH to tell him to come and meet me (this was after work) and waited 45 mins for it to come back again. DH took a picture of me on it, think it's the happiest I've ever looked in a photo before or since (including wedding pics). Tragic, I know, but true.

Anyway, have more than enough chocolate to share so anyone who wants a hazelnut gianduja, sea salted caramel (may contain traces of mollusc, apparently. mmmm) or mole chili dark chocolate just wave and I'll roll them down the aisle.

Mylittlebubble · 19/07/2010 20:43

Evening Ladies, Not been on much been busy partying. Getting it all in in the hope that I will not be able to drink for another 9 months .
We started SWi this week. Is it just DH and I or do you feel like giggly teenagers again about the whole thing?
Glad the bus is approaching the POAS stage scattering baby dust for everyone.

Karstan · 19/07/2010 20:51

mrswill don't worry, you're on the right bus for now, can't guarantee you won't need to change later but there's a seat here for you (according to your stats)
