Rockbird ttc#2 UCL 31 CD30

OP posts:
Bicnod · 17/07/2010 12:34

Am at all you charters. I can't temp chart as DS still wakes me up at random times in the night/early morning so it never works enough days in a row

I'm relying on OPKs from ebay. Will be SWI-ing every other day throughout cycle then every day for three days from when OPK says I'm about to ov. It's going to be my month. Rah

Ravenlocks - POAS woman (here) says you might need to test a couple of times a day the first few times you do it in case you miss the surge. I always get two lines BTW, but it's always been very obvious (with test line being really really dark) when surge is about to happen. Let us know how you get on with it?

Only on CD2 though so will mostly be drinking red wine tonight

Prinpo · 17/07/2010 14:29

Hello everyone, what's occurin'? Had a busy few days so I've missed you all. Whaddya think ?

Welcome to those who have just hopped aboard. Yummy brownies, thanks for those. We are definitely motoring towards that fun time of the month. Fingers crossed for everyone.

I'm feeling slightly cheered, having realised that when we go on hols next week I'll either know I'm pregnant or, at least, know I'm not so I'll be able to drink. Also, as we'll be sharing rooms with dc I doubt much SWIing would have happened (or SFF for that matter) so, for once, it's perfectly timed.

caramel, share your at those who get pregnant without all of this rigmarole. Still, I suppose at least we all get a chance each month. I often think of couples having to use IVF and how desperate it must feel if you're on your last 'go'. Not a cheery thought.

Love the thought of cocktails. Instead of a 'slow comfortable screw' we could have a 'quick functional screw'.

busymum05 · 17/07/2010 14:50

Hi everyone can i please join bus, AF arrived today, first time since MC in may.
Stats are ttc#5 cycle day 1 ucl 30-35

delilahbelle · 17/07/2010 15:54

Hi all. I have just upgraded my phone to an iPod 4
It's due to arrive on the 28th - when I will be 15dpo. So at least if AF does arrive this month I have something else to look forward to!

Trying to conceive and read this thread but having trouble with the jargon;

what does UCL stand for: is it usual cycle length?

CD?

Prinpo · 17/07/2010 17:12

Loopy, I like your style, thinking ahead to the May bus. It kind of softens the blow to know that there's a new, shiny bus waiting to go. Said it before and will say it again, this whole process feels a lot more doable with you bunch of Pimms-swilling, choc-scoffing, stick-peeing, obsessive fellow bus passengers . Not sure I would dare let anyone in RL know just how much time I spend thinking about ttc.

Prinpo · 17/07/2010 17:14

UCL is usual cycle length, CD is cycle day (ie day 1 of period is CD1).

For good measure, there's SWIing (sex with intention) and the far rarer SFF (sex for fun), which we do just to keep the menfolk happy and delude them into thinking that it's all about them .

Welcome to the bus, popem.

Loopy I started out trying to sway the odds for a girl but gave that up pretty quick lol

No idea if I've ovulated so no idea when AF due hoping it is either a really short or really long cycle so it doesn't hit my weekend away. Am feeling a bit bleurgh but fear it is all in my head lol

matumble · 17/07/2010 18:18

lol me too loopy hence jumping back on. exhausted the last few days, I fell asleep yesterday mid afternoon, apart from once when ill the last time i did that was when pg with dd3. shattered again today, really struggled to keep my eyes open this afternoon. boobs have grown too, had been losing weight and my bras were distinctly big and all of a sudden im overflowing them again. if im not pregnant then lord knows whats going on. still fighting the urge to test, frustrating as it is!

welcome popem you pick up the codewords pretty quickly, good luck this month

stuffed i know that feeling, noticing symptoms then wondering if you are somehow imagining them, hope it comes to something for you and you get to enjoy your weekend away

delilahbelle · 17/07/2010 18:38

Hey all - I agree about the bus, at least if I obsess on here I don't worry DH.

matumble what CD are you? You are not on the list. I have had an afternoon nap myself, was so so tired. But in my case I can blame our cats for waking us up at 3am last night, vomitting. Gross.

stuffed waiting to test sucks doesn't it? I am 4dpo and found myself wondering whether I should POAS tomorrow... idiotic.

Bicnod · 17/07/2010 18:51

prinpo - at 'quick functional screw' - oh if only the boys knew how it really rolls. I too would be really if anyone in RL knew how much i think about ttc. It is definitely bordering on obsession.

matumble that sounds promising - fingers and toes crossed for you.

delilah no no nooooooooooooooo don't test early, it's tooooo depressing. I've got one first response test sat in the bathroom cabinet and won't let myself buy ebay cheapies or any other kind of test anymore - too many tears have been shed. I will only crack open the first response when I'm on CD30 (my cycle is never longer than 28 days). I am banned until it's pretty bloody likely that I'm pg.

Right, must go and put DS to bed then it's definitely wine o'clock.

stuffedmk · 17/07/2010 19:34

delilah step away from the pee sticks lol

Bicnod only bordering on obsession?!

Karstan · 17/07/2010 19:39

Shattered also, although that seems to be a pretty regular occurrence for me, ttc or not, so trying not to read too much into it.

Trying not look up too many details about early symptoms, it's so easy to be sucked in and see what you want to see. I'd read something about darker nipples and last night I thought they did look a bit different. But then thought it was in my mind, and then finally decided that if I couldn't decide whether they were darker or not then they probably weren't!

ljg72 · 17/07/2010 19:42

Flying visit...Hello all and welcome busymum05!!! glad you've hoped aboard!...will catch up later! have a good eve x

matumble · 17/07/2010 20:05

delilah erm cd31 but roughly 10dpo assuming the last few months cycles have continued, the chances are slim but we fell ridiculously easily with dd3, especially after 2yrs and 12months ttc with dd1 and then dd2, dd3 was failed contraception and failed morning after pill! lord only knows how!

if we hadnt had dd3 so easily i would be writing off all symptoms but given that we seem to be getting better at this and she was concieved without any recogniseable cycle its hard not to wonder!

thanks bicnod either way the result will be bitter sweet, dh is in the raf and we found out after we swi this month that he is off abroad for 4 months in april, so obviously being careful since, either way there will be good and bad in the result i guess. not that im overthinking this or anything at the moment

loopy thinking ahead to the may bus makes sense to me too, have to say in the nicest way i hope not to be on a bus with any of you again as if were not this month we are putting off till probably the september bus, by which point i hope all of you will be well on your way to cuddling bundles

settling down to watch tonights the night with a cup of tea and a box of chocs

Prinpo · 17/07/2010 20:52

matumble, save me a place on the September bus . Not sure we're ever going to get our elusive third...

matumble · 17/07/2010 21:17

prinpo nope i refuse to tempt fate like that, i have been there and no matter how hopeless it feels there is always a chance, unless you're doing it wrong a la loopy? that would make things difficult.... want one of my chocolates? im willing to throw to anywhere on the bus, not that my aim is very good so anyone between us should probably duck

Karstan · 17/07/2010 22:13

Despite saying barely a few hours ago that I wasn't going to look up symptoms, was reading somewhere else and this caught my eye

"If you're pregnant, your breasts will probably become increasingly tender to the touch, similar to the way they feel before your period, only more so"

Do most women really have tender boobs before their periods? I've never had any sort of boob soreness my entire life. Am i a freak? (not that i'm complaining about any lack of soreness you understand)

matumble · 17/07/2010 22:18

ive never had sore boobs apart from much later in pregnancy

Isn't it funny how you spend years trying not to get pregnant then in my case want to have one and want it now! Are you guys completely obsessed? It seems suddenly everyone seems to be having babies etc! I have just finished AF so will be trying from next week onwards, hopefully it might happen this month. I don't think it helps my sister in law is preggers and I feel completely jealous which is not nice I know!

By the way what does POAS mean?

Karstan · 18/07/2010 10:44

Pee On A Stick

delilahbelle · 18/07/2010 10:52

Morning all...

loopy OV is very confusing - even when I was charting etc I could never pinpoint a day. Mostly I count from when the EWCM/OV pains stop. Hoping you may be lucky after all.

karstan matumble I get sore boobs post OV every cycle. When I was pregnant they stayed sore until I started bleeding. So my boobs are currently being prodded a lot.

AFM - I am 5dpo, have sore boobs and a few twinges low down, but nothing else yet. I am now feeling sure this month hasn't worked - changing my mind from feeling sure it had a couple of days ago. Did someone mention POAS from 8dpo? That makes me being determined to hold off to 9dpo positively virtuous...
