Justshaggy - thanks for all your relaxing advice. I will try and enforce some of your ideas. Especially eating more healthy and exercise.

Boba - mine asked for sticks from day 6 this month and I only have a 28 day cycle so bit odd. Think Lychees is right about it starting again for you to get tot know your cycle again.

Baby - sorry your sad hon. It is always difficult staring another new month. I got pregnant twice last year, Nov & Dec and like you have been told all ok. (Even by fertility expert) so it seems really frustrating. However, they still put me on clomid and I will do IUI soon. Im 41 so time is running out. Stay positive as much as you can. Big hugs xx

essenceofSES · 18/05/2010 17:26

Hello all!

JustShaggy - that's a great post that you wrote about trying to relax.

BabyHoping - I hope you've picked up a couple of things that might help from that list but do keep posting here and offloading if it helps!

vnewmummy - I think 1 or 2 units a night for 3 or 4 nights of the week would be fine, especially if it helps relax you!

boba - let us know how you get on with the accupuncture. I had it once for a whiplash injury and it didn't hurt at all.

reflexology - I had this once a few years back and without me saying anything, she knew I was thinking about ttc! Just from my feet!!!

Hello to anyone else around!

How is everyone else doing this morning?

BabyHoping · 19/05/2010 09:56

justshaggy Thank you so much for all the advices and support! It really means a lot to me.

I decided to take some of your suggestions. I will start running today and try for the 3 times a week.
Vitamins I´m already taking, and I think I eat fairly well... will try to add more fruits ;).
Caffeine I gave up after first miscarriage, I take a decaf with milk in the morning. And alcohol, only a glass of wine when I´m going out for dinner, so once or twice a week.
Yesterday night I tried to start meditating with om sound, it lasted exactly 8 min but it did seem to relax me a bit more... will go for 10 min everyday
I also want to start doing pilates or acunpuncture or any form of those... Any suggestions? I could also try to do both, but during the week its hard and doing both on Saturday seems a bit much...
Regarding my job, I completely agree that stopping should be worse. Ideally I should change, but market is not perfect and also there is a chance with my historical that the doctor puts me at home in a future pregnancy so my plans were to change jobs after having first baby... Let´s see, if it takes too long I will need to rethink this plan.

Also, I will try to make the process more fun and not think all the time that this is the month. It puts me too much pressure. But right now I have to manage the stress, I´m really being affected by it...

boba82 · 19/05/2010 10:15

Baby why not go for the acupuncture and get a pilates DVD to do at home? I've got one called Yogaletes which is a mix of Pilates and Yoga which uses a resistance band. I've had it for years and it's really good for stretching and relaxing.

Sorry about AF Pamsie

Found out yesterday that my BF is now trying for no 2. Don't know about you lot but I feel an added pressure. Don't know if I could cope with ANOTHER one of my friends falling pregnant before me. Feel such a bitch for not just being happy for them all.

justshaggy · 19/05/2010 13:12

Hi again baby - really hope things start easing up for you. For running (if you've never done it before, which was my case), I can recommend this itouch/iphone app. It starts off really slowly, VERY manageable, and it's nice have someone talk you through. You can also play music if you want.

Fruit - Yup....I am useless when it comes to fruit as well! Apart from skipping meals I think I have a very healthy diet but am being more conscious about it now.

Nutritionist suggested smoothies for fruits, with the tip of chucking in some nuts and a handful of oats into the smoothie at the same time. (I was moaning about getting fat with all the extra food I had to eat). She said having protein at the same time slows down the sugar breakdown process so less conversion to fat. She also shocked me by saying I should aim for five a day (veg only) PLUS two fruits. Actually quite hard to do I think....well, for me anyway.

Havng said that, my two recent purchases have been a smoothie machine, and new scales to weigh myself every day!!

Please let us know how you get on. x

essenceofSES · 19/05/2010 16:52

Hello!

I can empathose with the pressure of ttc and the almost competitive nature it brings out. I was so disappointed with DS that we didn't get pg within the first few months. I'd been using the depo injection and although it had worked well for me, seemed to take 18mo to clear out of my system and for fertility to return and then I had 2 mmc.

However, I do now have DS and know I am v lucky. The competitiveness doesn't stop though! Everyone in my NCT group is discussin who'll be first to get pg again!

I hope those of you ttc#1 don't find all that insensitive. I'm really just trying to say that I understand, realise how lucky I am but am frustrated that the same old pressure is already starting!

As for a healthy diet, my main downfall is lack of fluids. I've never drunk much. I don't like water (although I go through phases of forcing myself to drink it) and the main fluid I have is caffeine free diet coke!

I take the Sanatogen mum-to-be multivits and omega3 and I'm also on thyroxine and know I need to remember to take it as it can cause problems ttc.

I also don't really do any exercise. I have an IPhone so I'm going to have a look at that ap

Sorry, I realise this has been a bit of a "me" post and I've not namechecked individually but I'm thinking of you all and hoping for a stream of BFPs

Keziahhopes · 20/05/2010 01:58

Hi - babyhoping and justshaggy - like you I have come to realise need to reduce stress... interestingly I also have just bought juicer/smoothie machine and am trying to increase exercise (though cannot run, but walk/cycle/pilates are options).

Essence - it can be hard with fluids, I agree. However, the fluids in foods also counts which is good. Do you like caffeine free tea or fruit teas? I am sure pressure of ttc#2 is hard with peer pressure - certainly my friends with no2/not yet with no2 seem fixated with that. Whether first child or a sibling for other - same longings.

Morning Boba - how you doing today?
I was not in the mood for work so phoned in sick. Nothing wrong with me, i just fancied a lazy day at home!

My plan for bding every 2nd night is going ok except i have not ovulated yet and had no peaks! Still on high and it is the first month that i have had highs for so many days. (7 so far) It is impossible to plan too much!

Hope everyone else is doing ok too.

Lychees,Eggsovereasy and Shaggy will you be POAS this weekend?

xx

boba82 · 20/05/2010 12:27

Morning vnewmummy, I'm fine thanks. Funny I really could've been doing with a sickie myself today but I run my own business so unfortunately I can't

We are now trying to SWI every other night as well. DH not going to do second sperm test until after my peaks (if I get any this month!). I think it is still good to BD on high days as well though.

OP posts:
Lychees · 20/05/2010 13:16

Morning All,

We also had to put off the SA until after my peaks, Boba.

No sign of AF yet but want DH to go to have his SA tomorrow as he only works in the morning. However, he would like to know, for certain, if it is necessary, before he goes so we have agreed that I will poas tomorrow morning, vnewmummy and if its a BFN, he will go.

I don't really want to do it because if I don't have a BFN or AF then I can at least kid myself that I am pg. I know it potentially sets me up for a big disappointment but I can't help the way my mind works .

I have the day off tomorrow and DS is in nursery in the morning [I realised that I have only used two days holiday so far this year so treated myself for no reason whatsoever] so I have the rare treat of being at home on my own to watch daytime telly, drink tea and eat biscuits .

Hope everyone else is well.

boba82 · 20/05/2010 13:37

Oooh good luck Lychees, I will keep FX for a BFP for you hun.

OP posts:
justshaggy · 20/05/2010 14:47

vnewmummy - I stupidly POAS today!! Aaaargh. An internet test, read within the recommended 5 mins, predictably showed up clearly negative (I expected this because I am only 9DPO and I haven't tested +'ve early in either of my previous PGs).

But an hour later I saw a faint line on it.

You can guess the rest.... evaporation line, or BFP...?

I am so annoyed with myself.

Up until now I have had a gut feeling that I was not going to get a BFP this month because I don't feel like I have PG symptoms ... and I was sort-of OK with that.

NOW, however, I am wondering ... what if it meant something I wasn't expecting....???

Common sense is out the window because exactly the same thing happened with my last PG in Dec .... a faint line which I only spotted when I fished the test out the bin some time afterwards to double check. Turned out to be BFP that didn't show up until well after the recommended time (but that was at 14DPO; all tests before then were -'ve).

So now my hopes are up when I really don't want them to be, and I'm queued for the big disappointment that my gut and cold-blooded dispassionate logic still tells me is coming my way.

... I'll defo be doing another tests over the next few days, if not tomorrow ...

lychees didn't spot your post before I replied ... we're in similar positions, but looking at your stats you do seem to have shown remarkable restraint compared to me. I have been an ass. Never again!

boba82 · 20/05/2010 14:50

Oh God shaggy really hope it's a definate BFP for you hun, FX! x

OP posts:
justshaggy · 20/05/2010 15:03

Thanks Boba. But I know I'm not. In both PGs I got mega sympstoms that felt like anxiety - heart racing, hands shaking etc - not nice but impossible to miss. Apart from immense annoyance with myself, nothing like that at the moment at all. Boobs are bigger and tender - but they always are just before AF.

For the first time ever I have properly understood why early testing is a BAD idea. I usually don't get dissappointed by early -'ves because I tell myself they mean nothing because they're early . But this is different.

Not sure if I should test again.... What if I get a proper positive and its a chemical pregnancy? A BFN after 14DPO could be hard to take.

vnewmummy · 20/05/2010 16:31

Shaggy - try not to panic! I have been in your postition twice by doing tests too early but it is natural to test asap. Do you think your boobs could be a sign? That was the first thing I noticed. I had to chemical pregnacy in Nov & Dec last year.

It will drive you mad so if I were you I would test again tomorrow maybe?

Lychees good look for you too tomorrow....

Morning Everyone, how are you all doing?

I finally poas a stick this morning and got a BFN . Not entirely surprised but feel really disappointed because I feel like we did everything right this cycle and at the right time.

So this means that DH is off to the hospital this morning for SA and I'm off to get my blood results next week. And I'm left wondering why I've been feeling so uncomfortable and queasy these last few days .

boba82 · 21/05/2010 11:52

Sorry for your BFN Lychees x x x

BabyHoping · 21/05/2010 11:53

Hi everyone!

This week I have been dedicating myself to manage stress a bit more and and I feel a bit better. I went for running wednesday and yesterday I managed to leave earlier from work and went with DH to do inline skating. It was great. Also I just went to the hairdresser and that is another thing that really relaxed me... lol Today I have a relaxing massage and this weekend I plan to go hiking.

Of course, with all this positive trials, had to happen something on work... I was staffed on a project, working a lot, and suddnely the client said they want to delay it... this is why I´ve been having more time during the last days but its also a big source of anxiety for me cause I do not know what will I be doing next week and with who... Well, we will see and in the meanwhile I will just take advantage in having more free time...

BabyHoping · 21/05/2010 11:59

Justshaggy I just saw your post.... I do not want to give you any hopes... but that sounds like a positive... that also happened to me once and was a BFP in the end. Well try not to think too much about it and test in a few more days....

Boba I totally emphatize with you... my friends are starting to talk about going for second and scares me that they might have a second before I even get my first..
