Oh sorry Lychees I must have missed your post about that. God that's quite annoying isn't it? Hopefully it'll show you are ovulating though.

Yeah yesterday was my first time. They said 2 weeks until results though so won't find out for a while.

BabyHoping We tried Conceive Plus in my last cycle and I have to say neither DH nor I liked it at all. Used it one night and then switched straight back to pre-seed. An expensive experiment. Like you, I also found it hard to apply and not the best texture. Mind you, I also think there's a difference between pre-seed in the tube and individual applictors. I prefer the applicators.

camperli · 01/06/2010 21:38

Thanks a lot Lychees - I just remembered that I lent it to a friend of mine (who did get pregnant) to use almost a year ago and so it is probably still going with her cycle!
I'll have to reset and try again next month.
Good luck ladies,

Hi - I had 2 sets of blood tests ordered by the gp, which was useful as first set not necessarily on the day I ovulated as I did test on day 21, rather than 7 days past ovulation. More tests more evidence you have - so if people doing first tests now would recommend when see gp for results that you ask for a 2nd set. Also ask for smear test, chlamydia test (same time as smear) and general bloods inculding thryoid tests or anything else that may be an issue for individuals. Saves time when get referred to fertility - as I found to me cost!!

BabyHoping · 02/06/2010 09:16

Thank you shaggy. I will buy preseed with the applicators for next month. In the meanwhile I will try to use the conceive plus although its not really convincing me... the amount that stays inside its minimal.

Lychees · 02/06/2010 15:32

No problems, Boba. You'll probably have your results before I go for my test again. Fingers crossed for good results for you.

Keziah, you're right. All these tests take time. It's annoying. I can never seem to get my smear done because I have to book about three weeks in advance then my cycle goes off kilter and its the wrong time . I get the same excuses; we're down to one nurse, it's flu jab season, oh, we're down to one nurse again.......I know the NHS is pushed but they keep going on about screening and then you can't get an appointment. Sorry ladies, rant over.

Hi everyone else .

vnewmummy · 02/06/2010 18:57

Hi everyone - AF arrived.

I feel gutted. Last Fri I tested early and there was a faint blue line. I got my hopes up as I had some symptoms that month. (taste in mouth and boobs sore) So on Sat I had terrible pains and today AF arrived. I guess if I had not tested then I would not be so dissapointed.

This happened twice last year, got BFP and then 14 days and 15 days later AF arrived.

I called my GP today and she has advised i increase my clomid to 100mg.

So close yet so far again....

2 more months left TTC then thats it for me.

Sorry to be so miserable.

x

vnewmummy, sorry that AF got you. It's really difficult not to feel disappointed especially when you have got symptoms and worse still when you've had a BFP. No need to apologise for being down. Hopefully, the increased dose of Clomid will help [at least your DR is doing something]. Wishing you lots of luck.

CD13 for me today and still on lows so nothing to report.

boba82 · 03/06/2010 10:38

Sorry to hear that vnewmummy. That has happened to me too and it really is horrible. I agree with lychees in that at least your GP is doing something and hopefully it'll have a positive outcome for you hun.

Nothing to report from me either, CD24 and still on highs.

OP posts:
justshaggy · 03/06/2010 12:36

vnewmummy I had a bad experience with early testing last month when I got an evaporation line. Going to try very hard to not test early this cycle. I am so sorry about AF - its gut-wrenching. But why only two more cycles for you?

essenceofSES · 03/06/2010 20:28

Hello! Sorry I've not posted for a while. Had a mini crisis with DH as he's decided now that he's not ready to ttc#2. After lots of talking I think I've reconciled that we'll be waiting 3-6 months. V disappointed but we have to be together on this.
I guess you should take me off the list for now...

Does anyone know what will happen if I stop using my CBFM at the end of this cycle?
Can I keep pressing "m" at the beginning of each cycle but not using test strips?

vnewmummy - How awful for you. Hope the increase dose of Clomid works for you in the next couple of months.

Good luck to the rest of you having tests at the moment and I'll keep lurking hoping to see some BFPs to celebrate.

vnewmummy · 03/06/2010 21:22

Thank you girls for your kind words. It does make me feel better. Big hugs to say thanks.

Shaggy I am 41 and have been TTC no 2 for 12 months. I think for my sanity I have to be realistic and have a cut off point. So in 2 months we will come to the conclusion that we cant have anymore children. I feel like my life is on hold and I cant stay like this for too much longer. We just need to sadly move on if it does not happen. My DD is 2.5 and I didnt want her to be the only child. However, I know i am blessed that I have her.

Here's hoping for some good news for you.

SES - good luck hon. Who knows they say when you stop trying... I think at the end ot this cycle you can stop but I would maybe give the helpline a quick call to check.

xx

Lychees · 03/06/2010 22:12

SES, wishing you all the best and hoping that you'll be back with us in three months or better still, back to announce a BFP.

I need a BFP on here soon to give me a little hope.

For some reason, I've lost my PMA tonight. I have no idea what triggered me off but I suddenly couldn't imagine myself being pregnant or even ever seeing a BFP on a HPT. I feel a bit hopeless and sad.

I completely understand what you mean vnewmummy, at some point for your own emotional wellbeing you need to concentrate on the here and now instead of wishing your life away. I get the same feelings, too.

Morning all lychees I think it's perfectly natural to get down. I have weeks where I get really down and feel totally useless. It's awful and I've been finding it harder to pull myself back & stay positive but that's where we all come in as we are all in a similar boat and can spur each other on. x

essence sorry to hear that, it must be disappointing for you? You're doing the right thing though, marriage is all about compromise isn't it?! Why not stay and keep on the list until you're trying again so we can keep track on how you're doing?

OP posts:
Keziahhopes · 04/06/2010 22:56

essence - yes, you can keep using your CBFM and press m, without using sticks ... that is what I have had to do this month, as on very nasty antibiotics that stop foetus' bones from developing, so couldn't ttc, but still used CBFM.

Lychees - it is emotional ttc ... I have times of real sadness and despair too. Looking at your stats this is cycle 8, and I was told that it often takes 12 cycles to conceive. I am still trying to hope after 2yrs - hugs for you x

vnewmummy - I can understand wanting a time limit. I think if I had one child I would seriously consider stopping ttc after a 2yr attempt that I am having (albeit for my 1st), although I would not go back to using contraception [grni]. I hope you are both able to make that decision, if it comes to it, which is best for you and your family.

Morning all*

Keziah - all that you say is really true. Thanks, you kkep that hope too xx

justshaggy · 05/06/2010 13:37

Lychees Whew - I have days like that too. Someone who had been trying for 3yrs told me she visualised her baby and worked on feeling positive before she got her long awaited BFP. If I imagine myself PG, the next picture that enters my mind is of the scan room, and seeing a non-viable pregnancy on the screen. So I understand how you feel. (I hope visualisation isn't as powerful as some think or I'm headed for more heartbreak!)

vnewmummy I understand the stress. We've been trying for about 14 months now, if you include my two MCs, and there are days when I yearn for a release from the pressure and from the heartache. I'm not sure how I'd feel if I already had one - probably just like you do - but right now still can't bring myself to stop TTC, despite being 39 . If these are your last two months, then we'll have to help you chuck everything at it! I'm happy to share all my obsessive old wives tales tips with you if you like.

keziah Hope you're feeling better hun. So sorry you have to take such hectic antibiotics.

essenceofSES · 05/06/2010 14:17

Thanks for your kind words girls. I am v disappointed but trying to dwell on the positives. If it's ok, maybe I will continue lurking...

One of the reasons for that is that I can really empathise with what many of you are going through.

shaggy - I have a fear of scans too after my 2 mmc. I'm crying before I even get in the room and I'm sure they look at me as some mad, neurotic woman. When I did have lively scans with DS I was in disbelief to begin with and then cried anyway as the wonderful reality hit! I really hope you get a good scan experience soon.

Lychees - it is an emotional rollercoaster and don't feel bad for that.

vnewmummy - I've not got age on my side either as I'm 37. You need to do what's right for you and your family and having a plan like that may help instead of rising stress levels. Don't be afraid to change your mind though if it comes to that Obviously it won't as you'll be pg this month

Keziah - thanks for answering. Maybe this month off will help for next month for you? . Seriously though, I hope you're feeling lots better.

Hello to anyone else lurking!!

LadyBee · 05/06/2010 20:01

Hi ladies, I'm hoping you might be able to help me with a 'when did I ovulate' type question. This is my first cycle after a MMC, and I decided to go in with all guns blazing, bought a CBFM and started to temp as well. I got peaks on day 13 & 14, then a high on day 15 and then it stopped asking for sticks and went down to a low. So I assumed OV probably happened day 14/15 or so.
Stupidly, I forgot to temp on those days, so I'm missing a couple of days, but I've just entered the rest of the cycle to date into fertility friend and it's showing that I ov'd on day 17. Do you think it's possible for there to be such a big gap between a peak and ovulation?

Thanks, ladies, for understanding and for the words of support. I am now on CD16 and have got my first high of the cycle this morning so I am feeling a little bit more positive.

LadyBee, I believe LH is normally present 24-48 hours prior to ovulation [this is the hormone that gives you the peaks on the CBFM] so if this is the case, the gap does seems a bit big to me.
