Essence, sorry about your BFN Sad.

Pink - some of the others here have done acupuncture and can tell you about their experiences. I'm going for my first appointment on Friday and it's £45 for 45 minutes. Some of the fertility clinics charge a lot more though. I'll let you know how it goes!

Well, just been to see Toy Story 3 and have to admit that I shed a tear (I am a bit of softie though Blush).

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone. X

Hello again - congrats Harry and esp pleased about your scan result... great you can see the little one grow each week ;-)

Sorry to post and run, but no internet access in British countryside (but clouds and rain!) ... holiday was good, but now back am feeling like I did when last posted. Thanks everyone for your posts - it is good to know it is just not me. Seeing gp tomorrow and plan to go straight to private now, which sadly means missing out on NHS funding for one attempt but I am now 35, married for a decade and can't cope with the injustice and the way I have been treated. It is great others getting treated but I can't wait another 6mths and at least I had lots of tests on nhs - so now to referral time and getting in another set of queues!

Hello to all new people on here waves

Morning Ladies, had visitors over the weekend and my computer is in the guest room so it was out of bounds for a while.

Sorry about arrival of AF, Jenni and SES.

Keziah, I too have decided to go private. I am nearing my 37th birthday and know that I will not get funding for treatment as I already have DS so I would have to go down this route anyway. I already have an ultrasound and intial appointment booked for the Tuesday after bank holiday.

Hope everyone else is okay.

row78 · 16/08/2010 12:28

Hello all,

Not much is going on with me, I've started to wee on sticks but I'm always low fertility at the moment (only on day 8)

The only major problem is waking up at 4am and dieing for a wee but not being able to go because I can't spoil my FMU and also because I can't remember if my weeing window is open then.

Sorry to hear about the BFNs and AFs arriving, keziah - good luck with going private, it should happen really quickly now. My friend went private (long history, long story) and got triplets first try, erk! :) There is an injustice to other getting a round on the nhs but your life shouldn't be a social experiment on how a truly impartial, successful health care system should work, so if you have the money you should go for it guilt free.

boba82 · 16/08/2010 12:39

Afternoon ladies

starlet glad you enjoyed Toy Story, hope you managed to relax?

essence and jenni sorry about AF Sad

Pink that's good to hear the ball is rolling for you. I go for acupuncture weekly and find it really relaxing and it hs helped a few other minor ailments so I am sticking with it until my follow up appointment at FC at least. I pay £38.00 per session (45-60mins) I would say give it a try and see how you feel.
Congrats on the high, enjoy the SWI Wink

keziah and lychees that's good news you've made the decision. I'm sorry uz have had to go private but here's hoping you'll both have your BFPs v.v. soon!!

Hi to everyone else too.

Well I got letter today for my HSG appointment, it's on Thursday! Shock So much for the 12 week waiting list. I phoned to double check as still not had a period but they said it should be fine. I've just to POAS before I go to double check I'm not pregnant. Feel a wee bit nervous but it has come just at the right time as it's a wee pick me up as I feel something is happening at least.

Hi all,

Jenni, Essence, sorry AF got you.

Keziah, Lychees, am sorry about your NHS experiences - although it's good to hear that you are both in control and taking matters into your own hands. I agree with row - you should go for it. Out of curiousity, how do you even begin to select a clinic? I've looked at the HFEA website but it doesn't make the decision making process much easier (although agree useful for working out which clinic does which treatment). Anyway, good luck ladies, and you never know - you may fall pregnant naturally before you have any treatment.

Row - I thought if you went to the toilet at say 4 am then you should be fine for testing by say 6 am. Of course, I could be mistaken....

Hello to everyone else!

Starlet22 · 16/08/2010 12:46

Boba - didn't see your message before posting. Good news re your HSG being so soon - all the very best for Thursday. Will be thinking of you. X

rosieposey · 16/08/2010 13:03

Hello ladies :)

Sorry have not posted for quite a few days as internet has been down (bloody BT!) this is a recurrent problem ever since we moved into our new build house last December - im getting mightily pissed off at them as we have been paying for a service that is at best intermittant.

Harry - lovely news about your scan :)

Bloody CBFM has given me highs since my AF stopped and it is now day 16 ... not a single low since i started actually peeing on the CBFM sticks. Yesterday i had ECWM (and the day before) and a bit of the usual mid month ache so i used an internet stick and the second line was not quite as strong but pretty strong - i then used my second to last clearblue digital opk (left over from last momth) and it gave me a :) - so the cbfm didnt pick that up at 7.30 am but the cb opk did at 2pm - i think you are supposed to metabolise lh in the afternoon so maybe thats what happened.

Tbh i used to hardly ever get a :) when i was using the cb opk in the morning (it also advises you use fmu) only when i used an afternoon sample. My surge must have been pretty short though as it was neg at 7.30 on the cbfm - positive at 2 am and negative on an opk and cbfm by 8 in the evening - i have no idea why though just hoping that i really did ovulate and it wasnt just some super short random lh surge that came to nothing.

Essence, sorry that you got a bfn - its so disappointing isnt it :(

I have been temping too but i dont think its working out that well for me, this morning i had such a low temp it was nearly off the bottom of the chart Confused not sure if my bbt thermometer is a bit dodgy or not - i did have the fan on all night facing me but i wasnt THAT cold lol! Really really hoping that my temps go up after today or tomorrow to confirm that very short lh surge yesterday afternoon was indeed preceeding ovulation - we shall see. Getting quite fed up with this ttc business - good job DH is so patient as its all a bit orchestrated around this time of the month iykwim.

rosieposey · 16/08/2010 14:01

Just read that message back again Confused and i meant - that i was neg yesterday morning at 7.30 am - positive on 2 opks at 2pm and neg on the opk's by 8pm yesterday evening. - Still just a high today on CBFM.

Keziahhopes · 16/08/2010 19:17

Hi - boba that is great - and I noticed a real change in fertility symptom spotting signs after HSG (sadly was in hospital with septacemia, but it is meant to help things a bit!!)

Lychees - glad you decided, hope apt goes well. We got as far as getting a referral from gp, but told where we want to go has a 2mth waiting list. Waiting for paperwork now!

My big concern is finance - so we made sure no nice holiday, dh not getting a digital ready flat screen tv etc!! Worst fear is running out of money!

starlet - how choose? I looked up all clinics within a 90min drive basically, read their websites, any forums they on, looked at results. Realised travel distance was an issue with work, so it was only a choice of 2!! But if you not got any children (like us) you can get nhs treatment after 1yr of ttc, and I would definitely recommend starting there - as tests on nhs are the same, even if not all done, and can be used by private clinics/hospitals.

boba82 · 16/08/2010 19:23

Thanks keziah yeah I have heard that about it. Did you find it uncomfortable after? Not sure if I should arrange cover at work incase I don't feel like going back. I know they say mild discomfort but I never really trust these info sheets hospitals give you!

Rosie - sorry to hear things are abit all over the place with your CBFM, OPK and charting. I've just started charting properly, although wondering if I shouldn't have! I always get a peak with the CBFM but I'm not convinced I am actually ovulating as I got a mini temperature surge ... I might pop over to the charters anonymous thread and ask them for their views (you might want to do the same).

Keziah - thanks for the info. Do keep us posted as things progress. I am in a bit of a similar position in that DH and I got married nearly 9 years ago. We haven't been TTC as long as you but I am starting to have regrets that we didn't start TTC sooner. DH brings that up (he wanted to try earlier) but I wasn't ready before and, after all, there is no point in wallowing in the past (at least that's what I'm telling him and me!). Anyway, please do keep us posted and good luck! X

rosieposey · 17/08/2010 09:53

Starlet, i might just do that. The :) on the cb opk was the day before yesterday and i was hoping that my temp would have gone up this morning in accordance with ov perhaps yesterday but my son woke up at 4am and although i took a temp (it hadnt risen) it was much too early - i woke up again at my usual time two and a half hours later and took it again and it was higher than all the others but perhaps that was because i had a disturbed night - ill see what tomorrow brings. Starlet i think even a small up in temperature can indicate ovulation has taken place from what i have been reading, i will have a nose at the charting thread later on today as well for more info.

Yet another high on the CBFM today, might give them a ring and ask if thats normal - i know sometimes you dont get peaks but i never seem to get a low either - im glad i tested with those two opk's otherwise i would never have known about my (very short) surge.

Harry2007 · 17/08/2010 12:22

Hi Ladies,

Lychees and Keziah I really hope you're private treatment will result in a BFP for both of you soon x

and good luck Boba with the HSG (let us know if you receive the telgram from the Queen tomorrow - I'll be mighty disapppointed if you don't get it {grin})

Those CBFM reading sound odd rosie I'd definitely give them a call to see what they suggest.

I have my second scan tomorrow at 10.30am. I'm really nervous about it because it was 6weeks to the day that I started bleeding last time and I'll be exactly 6 weeks tomorrow.

Keziahhopes · 17/08/2010 13:06

Harry hope your scan tomorrow reassures you.

Boba I took painkillers before the HSG and to be honest I was absolutely fine after it. The painful part for me was at the start of the procedure, opening the cervix (think that is just me though!) - the actual test was fine, just mild discomfort and it did pass. The staff were so lovely. I had an early night, hot water bottle and all was ok.

Starlet Know what you mean, have to focus on "now" ... and testing process is part of that. I am waiting for referral and wait, but know once get seen there is no more waiting lists Smile.

boba82 · 17/08/2010 13:35

So will I Harry Wink

OP posts:
rosieposey · 17/08/2010 14:04

Boba, just googled HSG (have been offline for a few days and didnt know what it was) good luck with that - really hope it throws up some clues for you - it must seem like ages and such a long road but when you get that bfp it will be well worth it :)

Harry, keeping everything crossed for you - 7 weeks already! Its flying by (well probably not for you i guess as i remember the first 12 weeks being a bit of a grind.

I gave Clearblue a call and she agreed it did sound a bit Confused although she said i shouldnt use the cb digi in conjunction with the cbfm, i explained i didnt and it was a good job i took notice of my body and took that random opk otherwise i would never have seen that surge. They are sending me another box of sticks to use as the likelihood is that i will get highs for the rest of this cycle (she said it is waiting for my surge) but of course its probably already passed. I will send it back next month if it does this consistent high thing for the whole bloody cycle.

vnewmummy · 17/08/2010 18:48

Hi everyone! Gosh its great to see so many new names in just 3 weeks. My PC has been broken so not had a chance to catch up and read all posts yet.

Boba good luck for Thursday and Harry I am sure everything will be ok hon. Will be thinking of you.

Well a quick update from me, if you can remember this is the month the DH and I have done clomid and IUI privately.

It all went well and all I have to do now is wait until Saturday before I do pregnancy test. FX. I have also had 3 sessons of acupuncture and feel such a difference in my energy levels. I expalined that we were doing fertility treatment this month so he focused on that.

It has been the longest 12 days ever just waiting to find out.

It feels good to be back.... xx

StormBird · 17/08/2010 19:32

Hello everyone,

vnewmummy I have my fingers crossed for you that this is your month.

Still hanging about girls, just not CBFMing this month - which is proably not advisable as it is still learning my cycle but needs muct eh!! I have set it though so its on the correct cycle day.

Harry can't believe its 6wks WOW, thats gone quick. I have every confidence all will be ok for you.

Lychees Keziah - good luck going private, I hope it works out well.

Boba Best wishes for HSG, here's hoping your experience is well worth it.

Well I'll check in again soon. I hope to see a BFP Smile

xx

Lychees · 17/08/2010 21:13

Hi Ladies!

Harry, baby is in the right place now so I am sure it'll all be good tomorrow.

vnewmummy, wishing you masses and masses of luck for Saturday.

Rosie, hope the CBFM detects your surge next time [that is, if you don't get your BFP which you still have every chance of getting].

Boba, good luck for you HSG on Thursday [in case I don't manage to check in here tomorrow].

Keziah, hope your first private appointment comes through soon.

Hi to anybody else, I've missed .... Starlet, Row, Jenni, PinkCustard* ......

Thanks Rosie hope your CBFM or cycle sorts itself out soon. Maybe new sticks'll do the trick.

Thanks for the well wishes storm

Thanks lychees how are you doing now?

Well I am very disappointed to say Harry I did not receive a telegram from the queen for reaching CD100. The bloody cheek!!
