Hello ladies, after a mammoth 47 day cycle hoping for a December baby, today is once again CD1 for me.

If all goes to plan this month my EDD would be Jan 30th so I thought I'd start the February bus as a positive step forward.

Am fully expecting to be on my own for a while but do come and sit beside me for the journey if you feel the need......

Morning, how's everyone today?

Weird goings on here, got what looked like ewcm on day 8 which I thought was very early. Does that sound in any way possible? I seem to vaguely remember the same issue with DD, although as I said, we were successful on cycle1 last time so didn't get too deeply into all this. But I remember thinking I wasn't ovulating because I couldn't detect a surge. Must have been looking too late? All very odd.

8rubberduckies · 02/05/2010 13:37

Hi rockbird, how are you? I was wondering what ewcm is? So can't help I'm afraid!

I am ridiculously excited about being on CD14 already! Not really managed the SWI everyday but still feeling v positive this month. Don't ov till CD18/19 so plenty of time yet - unless my body starts playing tricks on me again.

Pleased to see we've got more ladies joining us, I really hope this is a lucky bus for us all xxx

We are SWI every other day at mo (now CD14) and just wandering... (TMI ALERT!) in terms of EWCM ...when you've been SWI how can you tell what is CM and what is ... well... from him . Do you have to check for EWCM after a certain length of time(after SWI). I'm new to this - DD and DS both from first cycle without really trying.
can't really believe I'm asling this!

womanlytales · 04/05/2010 13:04

patienceplease I have no clue -in fact I find the whole tracking of cm and cp quite daunting and only track high level changes - went from dry to some to a lot to dry again.

oiseau · 04/05/2010 13:20

Patienceplease - I don't know how you check I thought I had EWCM really early in my cycle last month but now realise it was as you say "from him"! I am sort of quietly trying for a girl this time (2 DS's already, though clearly don't mind which flavour i get just thought no harm in trying) so bought the shettles "choose the sex of your baby" which has lots about EWCM and it says you will soon get to tell the difference - well so far I can't! I think when it really is EWCM it is really stretchy - there is a very scary website fertility friend where people put pictures up of their EWCM but I can't quite bring myself to look! Am using OPK this month as figure this will be more scientific and involve less ferreting around in my pants and bits which I find all a bit yuk ....
Sorry - long answer and not much help but just thought i would share!

Rockbird · 04/05/2010 14:00

AFAIK, ewcm is stretchy, even if it's just a little bit stretchy. Other things aren't stretchy, they're more gloopy, I think!

I have never yet had a result with a OPK. I used one before and was going to make an appt with the GP when I got the BFP.

8rubberduckies · 04/05/2010 14:01

patienceplease I have just joined the website Fertility Friend for keeping track of my cycle, and although I have not had the joy of viewing photos of anyone's cervical mucous yet (yeuuuuch!!) I am working through their giude to charting your fertility and did the lesson on charting cm changes yesterday.

According to them it is really hard to tell the difference, and they only really offer the advice of not checking cm when aroused and not straight after sex. I don't know about you though, but the spermy stuff seems to hang around for hours and hours, so you could end up missing the EWCM altogether if you've just been up to no good...

Sorry I cannot be of more help as well.

I am feeling a bit down in the dumps today, as SWI has gone on the backburner as me and dp have been like passing ships in the night this bank holiday and to be honest I've just been knackered and in a bad mood! I find it really hard work SWI when I'm not, you know, feeling it

I've been temping for nearly a week now and my temperature is low and just a flat line; I'm a newbie to it but from what I can gather that means I still have not ovulated, and as I am on CD15 looks like I'm in for another long cycle...

Hope everyone else is having a better time of it xx

smallblackflowers · 04/05/2010 14:03

patienceplease EWCM is very stretchy and almost silky feeling, and very clear, whereas the stuff 'from him' is more milky looking, wetter feeling and only stretches so far before it breaks. A good way to tell the difference if you don't mind ferreting around a bit down there is that if you get a bit and rub it between your fingers, his stuff dries out quickly whereas yours will stay wet and glossy for ages! can't believe I just typed all that

Icedlemonmuffin · 04/05/2010 14:18

Sorry to gate crash but EWCM watch really made me laugh. I too never know what I'm looking , it's all sticky and wet but I will be trying Small Black Flowers patch test. Bye and good luck.

debka · 04/05/2010 17:28

Hey girls, can I join the Feb bus? I just fell off the Jan bus as AF got me today (grrrr). Rather enjoying all the EWCM chat as I was never quite sure what it was meant to be like!

My stats are:
Debka TTC#2 cycle2 UCL28 (but last month was 35???), CD1

DH is a miserable bugger and never wants to SWI or without I, so please wish me luck in about 14 days...!!!

rosieposey · 04/05/2010 19:19

Evening ladies, not posted for a few days but its the boring bit of my cycle.

AF finished after 4 days which is really short for me (is usually 6 days) and i am on cd8 today (must change the stats as mine are a day out) so will start SWI on day 12 (Saturday) - gah by the end of next week i will be all knackered out and totally not in the mood again.

Time to order the preseed, opk's and hpts tomorrow, its costing a fair bit now i am on cycle 4 but fingers crossed maybe just maybe this is my lucky cycle.

Hope everyone else is doing ok ... changing my stats and adding Debka now.

Loving all this ewcm talk! Such an education!

Orchid12 · 05/05/2010 07:45

Hi, only a quick update from me. Temp has really tailed off this morning so am expecting AF to arrive tomorrow. Am 14 DPO now so that would be good - given that my last luteal phase was 22 days!! Never thought I would be so looking forward to seeing AF so much, if only to confirm I am in working order (given am not PG!).
