I thought I'd start a thread for all of us who worship at the shrine of Toni Weschler, spend whole seconds analysing cervical mucus, slip over in the shower checking cervical position and spend two minutes every morning flicking their heads from side to side in a valiant attempt to stop a baby pulling the thermometer out of their mouths. Ladies, this thread is for all of us, may it see many many BFPs!

hello ladies, it's me, I'm in disguise - a RL person has 'outed' me gutted to lose my old name but hey-ho...

Danilou22 · 10/06/2010 22:33

Congratulations BV!!

This is starting to be a lucky thread

spilttheteaagain · 10/06/2010 22:39

spilttheteaagain · 10/06/2010 22:46

Shall try not to spill my tea on you
Am rather clumsy though, hence the name...

theteasonme · 10/06/2010 22:50

It's like we're family now!!

BabyValentine · 11/06/2010 09:46

Thanks, Dani. Hope this is a lucky thread!

Bad luck teason, hope your mass consumption of vitamins and minerals is making you feel positive

FWIW, this month I took 2000 mg EPO (CD1 to ov), flaxseed oil (DPOs), guaifenesin (Veno's Chesty Cough mixture, 2 x 5mL three times a day from CD5 to ov). Also used preseed. Not sure if any of it made any difference, but it certainly made me feel better!

theteasonme · 11/06/2010 11:15

What's the cough mixture for? I've seen others talking about robitussin... My pre-seed is on the way and the AC is going down a treat I'm taking 1600mg a day, plus EPO and starflower. I have to confess to having some lovely strong coffee this week bit will be back on the wagon as of tomorrow once AF has buggered off!

How's everyone getting on?

LittleSilver · 11/06/2010 12:03

At what point/after how many tests should you stop spending money peeing on sticks do you think?

Am paranoid about mc and did another FR today. Then followed it up with a CB dig rationalising to myelf that if it still said 1-2 weeks then that was OK on grounds that it was only three days since last test. Actually it had moved on to 2-3 weeks, oh DARN those CB conception indicators! They are the work of the very devil, really they are. Because there is nothing I can do if it all goes wrong anyway, I know that, so why flipping torture myself with hpts? I was actually shaking as I stuck the test in the pot.

teasonme sorry you were outed. Genuinely do not have a clue who you are, so namechange has worked!

OMG BabyV wonderful news.

3 BFP's in less than 2 weeks - i think we can safely say that charting is a good way to get up the duff!!!!

Welcome to the new person theteasonme - i know who you are lovey .

silver i can not tell you when to stop. i've done 4 conception indicator ones (about £30 worth). first two read 1 -2 weeks and the second 2 read 2 -3 weeks. I am trying really hard not to buy any more just to see the stupid thing read 3+ - arrgghhhh.

Stop now Hippy - Stop now Silver - You are PREGNANT.

ifatfirst You are sounding very promising too - I LOVE THIS THREAD.

BabyValentine · 11/06/2010 14:43

Thanks, hippy

Silver, stop testing! I will remind myself of this advice when I have a nausea/twinge-free day soon and the ClearBlue replacements are burning a hole in my knicker drawer!

teasonme, I think Robitussin is an american brand name for a guaifenesin-containing cough mixture. You have to get a mixture which contains only guaifenesin as the active ingredient, no decongestants or antihistamines (I think they might actually reduce your CF). I used Veno's Chesty Cough Expectorant. Not sure if I noticed a difference in CF, but I didn't cough once. I may have read somewhere that guaifenesin is actually presecribed in tablet form for those with scant CF (maybe only in America). I hadn't really noticed a lack of EWCF in my case, but for £3, I thought I'd give it a go!

Also, I drank lots of water, Well, lots for me anyway - I only drink tea and maybe one glass of water a day at the very most (and wine, of course ), so I made a concerted effort to drink more (1.5L per day when I remembered).

Did everyone spot the BabyValentine connection? Due date has been given on FF as 13th February - how weird is that!

spilttheteaagain · 11/06/2010 16:39

A BFP....

on my OPK!

It's the first real proper definitely-there line I have ever seen caused by my wee

SWI last night and was planning on then Sat & Sun mornings as apparently morning sperm is more lively? But not sure my nerves can stand skipping tonight... Oh God. DH made me promise not to tell the world when we shagged
... but when would you if you were me?!

BabyValentine · 11/06/2010 16:53

Yay, spiltthetea.

This month we did it twice on Ov-2, once on Ov-1 and twice on OvDay. It was a bit grim to be honest. Poor DH was a wreck and probably shooting water by the end - but dammit, I was determined!

However, that was nothing compared to the cycle (which followed a CD10 ovulation) when we did it 14 days on the trot. I eventually ovulated on CD20. Thank God, there was very nearly an injury! I'm so pleased we can have sex for fun again

I think I may have gone overboard by the way ...

BabyValentine · 11/06/2010 17:21

teasonme, weren't you off to the doctor's today? How'd it go?

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 11/06/2010 18:02

Temps going back UP and AF was due yesterday!!!!

I am NEVER late

LittleSilver · 11/06/2010 19:16

ifatfirst, you do realise don't you that if you wait til Sun to test I will be a quivering wreck. I understand that you don't want to tell your DH over the phone, but please, have some consideration for some faceless internet mates!

spilt Morning sperm is more lively? Ah, bless them. Wish I was; I'm waking up at the mo and counting down hours til I can go to bed again.

BV, I spent ages cajoling seducing DH into "work sex". He got to be a bit sus once he realised when I ov'd.

BabyValentine · 11/06/2010 19:48

Ooh good Lord, ifatfirst! I'm not sure I can take the excitement! This thread will become huge, with millions of new TTCers all hoping for a bit of baby luck...

BUnderTheBonnet · 11/06/2010 20:01

Congrats BV and sounding good ifatfirst

I got that magic moment this morning when FF confirms your ovulation. Was nearly late for work.... I got 3 out of 5 on the sex-o-meter so hopefully that should do the trick. Now for a relaxing 2ww

BabyValentine · 11/06/2010 20:06
spilttheteaagain · 11/06/2010 22:19

There's something about discussing ttc that brings out the sniggering schoolgirl in me. So many rude words to choose from!

It's all getting a bit exciting on here isn't it?? 3 BFPs and another strong possibility and at least two of us ovulating... doing our level best here to improve the UK's low birth rate problems

theteasonme · 12/06/2010 07:53

Hi, I was indeed at the doctor's. He's referred me to the local hospital for initial investigations! I actually feel excited - is that weird? DH needs to hand a sample in and they're going to check I don't have PCOS (which I don't think I do) but at least we're making a start. The appointment isn't until August but I'll try and get a cancellation before then. I've been referred for 'secondary infertility' Hopefully I'll be pg before the appointment!

AF is on her way out (hoorah!) and I've had some very interesting deliveries from my recent internet shopping so it'll be all systems go from next week - again!

Very many congratulations on the BFP BV you're edd is nothing short of spooky - I might change my name to babynextmonthplease!

Xxxx teason

BabyValentine · 12/06/2010 10:19

Great news, teasonme, excitement does not sound weird at all. It is always good to have a plan. The doctor sounds, dare I say it, sympathetic! A referral and SA is great news, and as you say, the way things are going you may be pregnant before your next appointment, hope so

theteasonme · 12/06/2010 18:08

I was really surprised to be referred so quickly but I'd taken a long list of how many days each cycle had been for the last year and he just said - you need help with that. I'm not an expert so let's refer you to someone who is! bloody marvellous! He wants them to rule out poly cystic ovaries and thinks they might start me on clomid but it has to be prescribed by a specialist. Hopefully I'll get seen sooner rather than later bit at least it's a start x

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 12/06/2010 18:51

Temp went up ever so slightly again this mornning then AF arrived an hour later

I am so upset, more than I ever have been because I was so sure, and I don;t normally jump the gun like that.

Went to boots to get some essentials and I was served by the very cheery, but very pregnant girl . I made a quick exit and had a little weep in the car

Can't get in touch with DH to tell him
