Like the name, Mountie

Ooh, Mimosa! Ladies, we got us a posh one 'ere!

Headbanger · 23/03/2010 17:44

A big up for the mention of sheldon cooper. So, i can confirm that whilst money can't buy you happiness (a disgusting lie if you ask me), a short tailored trench in slate grey twill, a pair of leather pixie boots, a leather satchel-bag so beautiful i want to weep, a carved bone bangle and two bone hair sticks, and sundry cheap tops from h and m, fair takes the mind off one's troubles. But alas i came home and found our computer has given up the ghost, so am dimly wondering if all that money could have been better spent elsewhere. . . . . .and sorry for being so childishly self obsessed today. I'll snap outta it tomorrow morning, i promise promise.

Headbanger · 23/03/2010 17:46

What the fuck is a minosa anyways? I'm a scotch or bitter girl

CUNextTuesday · 23/03/2010 18:02

mmmmmmm real ale......

MountTheFairy · 23/03/2010 18:08

Thank you for the name CockDodger godmother.

Champagne (or anything bubbly) and orange juice. Only works before 12. Drink it after that and you'll turn into a pumpkin.

ginhag · 23/03/2010 18:10

Well fuck me I'm knackered. Trying to sort a major job offer proposal thing n talk to key accounts while a toddler rampages round the office is a little bit tiring....

Luckily all the staff are super-ace with him (where the fuck did that expression come from???have never said that before in my life)

acheived not a lot but did sort a bonus structure n stuff which hopefully will get me The Marvellous Lady who will stop me sobbing...which will be good.

I do rather like mangyfairy you will fit in well here I think.

I'm due on on fri, tested today as have unusual bosom happenings and I WANTED TO KNOW!!!! Cue long internal debate about possible faint line that pretty much isn't,and much punching self in face for pissing money away in such a tragically literal sense.

headfuck don't worry bout it,we all have our menkuls.

cho well done for the zen thing ma biyatch. Am rootin' for ya.

I am so tired I have no idea what I've typed,am using phone as usual and I don't have the energy to try n scroll back to look.

Oh,it's wine o'clock! (and yes I'm on the WOOFL and thus should be encased in an oxygen tent eating only organic beansprouts picked by freshly scrubbed virgins regardless of the fact that I didn't even do much SWI...but I'm not going to justify my alcoholism reasons as I'm TOO TIRED! And a bit cranky)

Ocarina · 23/03/2010 19:34

I've had a not getting much work done day without the excuse of a rampaging toddler so it sounds like you're somewhat more efficient than I am gin. If I get to the point of trying to combine work and motherhood I can see it all going horribly wrong.

In my not getting any work done I came across this and am now wondering whether any of you have read it. Is it worth buying or will it just tell me things I now already and/or annoy me?

Ocarina · 23/03/2010 19:35

Oh, and I meant to say hello to Fairy and welcome to the madhouse palace.

CurlyCasperReturns · 23/03/2010 19:53

glad you're in mountie. I see, so a mimosa is a fancy name for a Bucks Fizz...

ginhag · 23/03/2010 20:05

oc nah I'm very very very far from efficient. Am a chaotic bundle of confusion and half finished sentences.

Wrt the book, I've not read, I prob wouldn't myself but that is based on nothing other than personal pref. Didn't read her book when pg either but did find 'the first year' really quite handy for reference, tho extremely american in language n stuff.

So,no help at all then

MountTheFairy · 23/03/2010 20:11

Thank you ginhag, Ocarina, been waaaaasting so much time today too! Bad, bad, me. No idea about the book but happy to have you buy it and then let us know about it . I only just borrowed my first conception book from the library, which pretty much told me that me and my old husband are screwed. Curly yes! Now I remember hubby telling that! I told him to stop being weird and English .

Aaaah cleared all the wine from the house not to be tempted and how I regret it!

ginhag · 23/03/2010 20:16

I've never read a conception book. But then I do have the BESH coven to keep me informed/do the neccessary voodoo/carve spoons...

Muser · 23/03/2010 21:45

I'm feeling very sorry for the lesbian BESHes on OBEM tonight, poor little William. I fear this isn't going to end well.

OP posts:
Muser · 23/03/2010 21:49

Also Izzie's parents, who seem wonderful.

Scorpette · 23/03/2010 21:58

Muser, have everything crossed for the poor ill baybees. Little William's prognosis looks bleak Those poor, poor women.

PS I've read a conception book or 4. Have foofoo sex, try not to be over 35, cut down on the crystal meth, yadda yadda.

CUNextTuesday · 23/03/2010 22:03
Ariesgirl · 23/03/2010 22:21

Please - no spoilers please! Have to watch tomorrow on computer as Ariesman refuses to countenance watching it. Did I say man? I meant boy of course.

Have read conception books to my shame. Some very silly silly things are advised, some of which we've discussed on the First Timers' thread e.g. filtering every drop of water you come into contact with, avoiding tampons as they restrict your womanly energy etc etc. Oh and don't be over 35. There was a Daily Heil article about SamCam today, which casually mentioned she was 38 and then equally casually, between parenthetic commas, inserted that doctors recommend the optimum time to have a baby is between 20 and 35. Wankers.

Ariesgirl · 23/03/2010 22:26

Hello FairyLiquid.

Am WOOfl-ing too and there's nothing I want more than a vat of wine. Will not symptom spot this time as know am not diffed. And why? Because of the in laws of course. All to do with them, nowt to do with me and my ageing organs.

CockDodger · 23/03/2010 22:31

I'll second that! No spoilers. I do not own a tellybox (I'm waiting to see if it catches on first before I buy one - boom, boom), so I can only watch OBEM when it comes on the computer thingy.

Its the only telly programme I watch, so you're not allowed to mention whodunnit, ok?

CockDodger · 23/03/2010 22:36

..or if ou do, tell me beforehand so I can cover my ears.

CockDodger · 23/03/2010 22:37

ou you

Sorry, Scorps.

MountTheFairy · 23/03/2010 22:52

Hello ArielGel. So how's OBEM? Never seen it but it sounds depressing?

MountTheFairy · 23/03/2010 22:57

On SamCam: I see they forgot to insert that men "should" not be over 35 either. As I depressingly learned today. Hubby exactly the same age as David C.

Ariesgirl · 23/03/2010 23:21

You know the inappropriate/weird crush question in the BESH questionnaire? Well I want to change my answer. My new weird crush is Rhod Gilbert. I'm beside myself with lust

ginhag · 24/03/2010 07:36

4 points of gloom from ginhag, the palace's resident eeyore...

  1. am pretty sure I feel droid approaching.
  2. I have had very little sleep AGAIN so feel like shite
  3. am very much questionning whether I actually have a fucking clue how to be a good mum. Is v challenging at the mo.
  4. this time last year I was still blissfully unaware that there was anything wrong with my pregnancy.

On the plus side I shall be seeing extreme this evening which will cheer me up. And I watched coraline last night which was amazing.

I'm sure that all of the above would be much easier if I could just catch up on some sleep...
