So a slightly lighter and less scary thread for those who are chucking away the pills and the condoms and hoping for the best!

I've been a bit of a bitch the last couple of days, I wonder what my chances are of pulling the situation round for a shag?!

takethatlady · 29/04/2010 23:02

Ha ha! I say 100% if your DH is anything like mine. It doesn't matter what I do or say, sex is always an option!

gormers · 30/04/2010 10:23

People crying at the john lewis ad has made the news - I think we've just started a trend!

pipistrello · 30/04/2010 19:50

No! National news?

gormers · 01/05/2010 08:40

Morning ladies!

I think I need all your help, to give me a 'virtual slap'!! Have found myself symptom spotting like a crazy person for the last 2 days & beginning to obsess about maybe this being the month! It's 3 days before even the early predictor kits would work let alone the normal ones, and am going to drive myself crazy if I think like this for the next 7 days!

So could someone give me a virtual slap / shake on the shoulders whilst yelling "get a grip" / or maybe the virtual cold water thrown in the face to bring me to my senses!!

All help greatly appreciated!!!

frakkinnuts · 01/05/2010 09:26

delivers slap with wet kipper

We're here to keep you sane.

No positive, no period for me Am starting to get worried that my reproductive system is completely messed up and need some perspective. We've only been trying 2 months!!!!

ljg72 · 01/05/2010 16:54

I'm only 3 months in on TTC!...feels like FOREVER!!!!!...onwards and upwards ladies!!!keep the faith

BrassicaBabe · 01/05/2010 16:56

Maybe we should change tack and "engage the madness"?! I can't do it anywhere else!

I'm feeling quite sane today. There's no chance I can be pg after mid-cycle bleed, blood tests are done awaiting results. I'm sure there's time for me to go bonkers between now and Thursday when test restults arrive, but for now - sane.

How many days late are you frakkin, are you usually regular?

frakkinnuts · 01/05/2010 17:14

Definitely not regular! But going by average cycle length I'm 5 days over....

BrassicaBabe · 02/05/2010 09:29

Poor you. I hope you are finding something to keep you sane

Fuzzywood · 02/05/2010 10:42

Hi ladies,
Mind if I join you? In process of trying to not get obsessed about trying for number 2. DH wearily last night "tell me when I'm needed" so must be doing enough shagging! On a positive note at least I won't have 9 months of "he shoots he scores" like the first time.

frakkinnuts · 02/05/2010 13:55

@ Fuzzy's DP!

Come and join the attempts not to descend into madness!

trixie123 · 03/05/2010 09:49

hi
mind if i jump on? DS is nine months now and we're TCC no2. Some of the mums at the baby groups are already pg again (one is 6 months gone!) definitely not getting scientific about it but not doing a lot of shagging either - 9month old not really conducive to it!!) will check in and see how peeps are doing. Congrats to those with BFPs.

gormers · 03/05/2010 12:22

Aha!

Whilst browsing on another thread I have literally just understood for the first time ever the EWCM acronym!!! Seriously, all the time I've been on this thread I haven't known what it stood for!!!!

I think I was better off in ignorance and now know that this thread is most definitely my home!!!

...(Even if I am still secretly symptom spotting!!)

Happy bank Holiday peeps!

gormers · 03/05/2010 12:23

by the way - hello trixie & fuzzy!

takethatlady · 03/05/2010 12:51

What does EWCM mean? I hardly know any of the acronyms and whenever I look them up they're not on the list!

gormers · 03/05/2010 15:05

Ewwwww - do you really want to know?? I don't want to be responsible for ruining anybody's bank holiday!!!....

Fuzzywood · 03/05/2010 15:54

Go on Gormers, what is it, I've no idea either. Hope all are enjoying the bank holiday.

frakkinnuts · 03/05/2010 17:39

Well I am definitely not pregnant. And I think I miscounted anyway from when I was due, taking a 4 week cycle instead of my more normal 5(ish) week (excluding the 49 days of torture where I didn't have a period!).

This 'taking it as it comes' attitude is definitely a good thing.

vallinnapod · 03/05/2010 20:05

Hi there fellow shaggers!

I'm very new to all this, by which I mean baby-making and using message boards. It's nice to have somewhere to go to when you are trying to keep your spawning activities on the QT!

I'm 28 (for the next week and a bit at any rate!) and TTC#1 (See, getting the lingo already - fast learner ). I came off the pill last month and we got going straight away so all I have had is my end of month 'pill period'. I am 6 days 'late' now (based on a 28 day cycle) but also 2 BFN (see told you I was a quick leaner!) tests down. I wasn't surprised but I was incredibly disappointed which was nice as I wasn't hugely sure I was ready for babies (of course I want them, it's just mentally I still feel like a teenager!)!

So no sign of a mini-us or AF....still and I ahve been the biatch from hell, poor hub!

I had been on the pill for 10 and a half years (where did the time go?!)

I would really appreciate hearing of anyone in a similar position. How long did it take for people's cycles to return to 'normal' etc

I love that there is somewhere to go to ask these personal questions and post.

vallinnapod x

takethatlady · 04/05/2010 07:47

Hey vallinnapod. I'm in a similar situation to you. I'm 27 (for the next couple of months) and was on the pill for eleven years. Came off it 24 days ago, to be precise, and I never got periods on the pill I was on (I had been on that one for 9 years). I'm not worried about that as all the doctors said it was fine and in October I went on holiday and forgot to take my pill and waited until I had a natural period to start taking it again. It took 28 days, which was great - hopefully I'll either discover I'm pregnant in a few days or I'll get my AF (there's another acronym for you!)

On feeling mentally like a teenager, I am now lying on the couch and about to skive off from work because I have a disgusting hangover. I'm sure that's very irresponsible if you're ttc, but I went out for dinner with my family and my dad just kept topping my glass up. He doesn't know we're ttc so I didn't stop him, which was really stupid, I know. But I'm really excited to be ttc and so is my DH. I just hope morning sickness isn't as bad as this bloody hangover!

Anyway, welcome to the thread! Hopefully you'll get a BFP soon!

takethatlady · 04/05/2010 07:48

PS - yeah, go on gormers, tell us! Now I think about it, I think I can guess what the last two letters stand for...

takethatlady · 04/05/2010 07:49

Oh! I think I've just worked out what the first two stand for too... if the first is a food, the second is a colour, and the third and fourth are a bodily fluid, I'm with you!

trixie123 · 04/05/2010 08:06

hi vanilla pod,
I was on the pill for about 13 years before having DS1. (microgynon). Always had a "period" in the off week but before I was on it I was always hopelessly irregular. I fell Pg within about two months of ttc so never really had a clue about getting into a normal cycle - only had 1 period. (also meant I was way out on my dates and got told at the 12 week scan that I was 17 weeks!). I did read somewhere that coming off the pill gives you a short burst of super fertility and thats why so often people in that position fall quickly (and by position I don't mean anything dodgy or tantric!!)but don't know how true that is. anyway, definitely on the side of the 'just shag lots" school of thought and don't worry too much about cycles and ovulation and all that 'til way down the line. good luck

takethatlady · 04/05/2010 08:16

Hi trixie123 - it's nice to hear a success story.

Now feeling really really guilty about the alcohol. Have had a very heavy week for drinking for various reasons and wish I had just abstained. I doubt very much if I'm pregnant, though I have had a couple of symptoms (I know we're not meant to spot them, but sore nipples for the last four days and cramps like mild-medium period pains on Saturday), and I just think I'm an idiot for drinking.

So, aside from JSing, I've decided now to quit alcohol too.

This may be the hangover speaking, but I don't think so.
