So a slightly lighter and less scary thread for those who are chucking away the pills and the condoms and hoping for the best!

Frankenfanny what amazing news - congratulations!!

pipistrello · 10/04/2010 18:41

Ow wow, and also for notso!

notso · 10/04/2010 18:43

thanks,

How are you?

pipistrello · 10/04/2010 20:54

Not bad, thanks. Symptom-spotting like mad (currently wondering if getting over-emotional at a Harry Potter film is a sign!).

What are you up to this evening!

PinkFondantFancy · 10/04/2010 23:50

Hello girls! BFN as expected but on the upside, nice big glass of red wine with dinner have got ridiculous pmt so hopefully my body is starting to remember what to do again!! For any Holby City fans out there I saw Jac Naylor in a coffee shop today! Was very starstuck!!

fenderbender · 11/04/2010 00:04

hi guys,
I was getting into the TTC board on BC, and found that it it was just a bit too kerazzee, it is not my bag. As it goes, I am TTC #2 but she was a total accident, had only been with my boyf 8 months, and we were like SHITTT! But we are now happily married and have little girl who is 17 months. So we are ready for the next one and have been shagging this month and I think it is a possibility that it worked, not sure yet.

I stupidly did a tesco's test today coz I had one in the house but I don't think I am due til tuesday anyhow so shouldn't have bothered, it was BFN, what a surprise! Anyhow, I have a relaxed approach to TTC, squeezing in last few glasses of vino and fags before BFP! Don't judge me people, I'm only human and 9 months is a long time!

BTW, I am 29, live in London, and am happy to have found a thread I can identify with!!

Allie xx

fenderbender · 11/04/2010 00:05

I LOVE Holby - tis awesome!

Claribella · 11/04/2010 12:39

Hi Ladies! Can I join? I've been lurking on a couple of sites for the last month or so, alot of which is mind-bogglingly intense (understandably I know). I'm liking the JS mind set!

Have been JS for a couple of months. Was on Femulen for over ten years and my periods stopped completely while I was on it. I thought this was great at the time (my periods had always been horrendously painful, curl up in the dark and rock back and forth styl-ee), but I'm now realizing how crap I felt while on them - particularly loss of libido! So, good news for DH, who is more than up for the increased action!

Woke up today with really painful AF (I really HATE that term - wish I could think of something better). Looks like we will be JS for a bit longer - everything has it's plus side

BrassicaBabe · 11/04/2010 13:54

Bli'me! I leave you lot alone for 2 mins and it all goes bonkers over here!

Welcome to Pink, Fender and Clari

I used Agnus Cactus to get my cycles going after the taking the pill. I think it worked for me.

And of course the big news. Wow Frank and Notso. Congratulations! Has the news sunk in yet?

AF got me today. Crap on all levels. Mainly though cos there will be no JS or reverse cowgirl for me for a few days and we've already missed out on a few days for one reason or another. I'll be climbing the walls

Hey-ho.

pipistrello · 11/04/2010 16:15

Hurrah for lots of lovely new people! Hello and welcome, clari and fender. I'm glad you found us and can help us build our own little non-intense world and ward of the inevitable moment we get sucked into madness too.

brassica - bah to periods. Will it last long or will you be back to shagging in a couple of days?

fenderbender · 11/04/2010 21:31

Thanks for the welcome peeps. As you know AF due on about tuesday and I am starting to think she is on her way, I am getting that feeling I am all to familiar with. Not the end of the world if so, think I will feel a pinch dissappointed but hey there is always next month. I have a huge night out next weekend for my 30th so if i'm not, at least i'll be able to go out on the smash!

I really thought it could be it this month, have been super tired and a bit crampy which I had first time round, but now I'm thinking, nah, AF is coming. We shall see!

Is anyone testing this week?

xxx

RedNinaBlue · 12/04/2010 14:52

Hello all.

Yesterday I officially came off the pill, after 11 years of religious pill-taking. I had kind of hoped for it to happen on a romantic weekend away, with my husband and I staring soulfully into each other's eyes and affirming that yes, my love, it is with you and only you that I want to have children.

Instead I was in my pyjamas and we tossed a 5p coin before I turned in for an early night before work on Monday. "Heads" -- the pill packet is banished to the medicine chest for the foreseeable future.

5 p coin may sound flippant, btw, but really we're both ready, and have decided that while no time is exactly perfect, this is as good a time as any, so why not get with the baby-making.

I am 30, first-time tryer. Wish me luck!

frakkinnuts · 12/04/2010 15:04

Hello and welcome

I'm loving the 5p coin approach, very in keeping with the 'if it happens then it happens'.

fender - enjoy lots of shagging while you can and indulge while you're 'on'.

All these ways of referring to periods really are ghastly aren't they?!

RedNinaBlue · 12/04/2010 15:33

Thanks frakkinnuts. I'm hoping to hold on to the nonchalant attitude, but tbh mumsnet brings with it equal parts reassurance and insanity. At this moment, I am actually thinking of buying some folic acid on my way home tonight -- the very existence of which I had happily ignored for the past 30 years.

takethatlady · 12/04/2010 17:33

Hello RedNinaBlue! I also took my last pill this weekend (on Saturday - I'm a day ahead ) after eleven years of religiously taking it! I'm only 27 though, which I guess makes me a bit of a slapper compared to you!

Been taking folic acid (probably remembering iit about four times a week at the moment) and not doing anything else. Made the mistake of telling my mum about this - she's now thinking I'm practically up the duff already and going insane, but I'll let her do the crazy time and I'll just kick back and have unprotected sex for a while!

DH very sweet and excited, but refuses to talk about names in case it jinxes it (I think he's afraid his sperm is going to come under the test for the first time...)

Good luck!

30andMerkin · 12/04/2010 20:10

Wow, lots going on here - will come back and dissect the latest updates properly soon!

In the meantime RedNina, I highly recommend taking the folic acid/pre-preg tables because - whisper it - they do amazing things for your skin and nails!

RedNinaBlue · 12/04/2010 21:11

Well then, Merkin, I'm sold.

PinkFondantFancy · 12/04/2010 21:39

Hi all, especially redninablue and takethatlady! Does anyone else think that coming off the pill makes you gain weight? I definitely think I have (although it might have something to do with Easter....) could also have something to do with the last minute stinky French cheese binge I've been on recently....

notso · 13/04/2010 18:05

Hello everybody and welcome clari, fender, takethat and rednina

Started back at work Monday BOOO!

Tested again today as think was due on today and much clearer BFP, have also been really sick so I think this is it!
I don't know how to tell DH, I think he will be shocked that it's happened so quickly.

Sorry about AF brassica hope your not feeling to crappy with it.

How are you frank? have you seen anyone official yet?

Anyone else got any news.

Happy Shagging JSers.

gormers · 13/04/2010 18:33

Notso - that is fantastic news!

Husband is on nights this week and unfortunately leaves for work before I get back, so a quiet week for me. Can start again in earnest from Friday!

Anyone else have difficulties actually meeting up with their Other Half?!

30andMerkin · 13/04/2010 19:42

Congrats Notso! Wow, this is one fertile thread...

Gormers, I hear you. A combination of 6,30 starts on Sunday, DH business trips to Europe, and looking after a friend's oh-so-cute but oh-so-demanding puppy, means this has been one of our lightest months ever on the shagging front, damnit!

pipistrello · 13/04/2010 19:43

Definitely not as badly as that! Our difficulties are mainly not being too tired after both working very long days.

pipistrello · 13/04/2010 19:44

notso , how are you going to tell him??

frakkinnuts · 13/04/2010 19:48

gormers - yep! He's scheduled for 3 missions in the near future...that's time we're definitely not gonna be shagging

Much clearer congrats this time, notso!

FancyALittle · 13/04/2010 19:52

gormers Yes! My DP is working nights this week, so is working away. We then have enforced abstinence (he is doing sperm banking) for another week. And SO, we can't get down to it until (drum roll please) our wedding night!
I'll be chewing my arm off by then!
