Shiney new thread before we drop off the end of the last one!

OP posts:
frakkinaround · 23/02/2010 08:56

tammu I'm considering starting a "EWCM, AF, LMP, WTF?! I'm just not using contraception thread"

Anyone up for joining me on that in a bit?

tanmu82 · 23/02/2010 09:36

Sounds good to me, just tell me what EWCM and LMP mean and I'm on it

frakkinaround · 23/02/2010 12:21

EWVM is apparently egg white clear mucus (huh?) and LMP is last menstrual period. I have no idea....

Come find me!

Florin · 23/02/2010 12:28

Definitely sounds good to me. It's scare me all the things people are doing. I feel like u need to get a degree in it before even attempting ttc. I plan on throwing out the condoms and getting down to it a lot! Is it that people on the conception thread are on there as they aren't getting straight away so using it as a support (which I can completly understand) and people who do get pregnant straight away don't bother with them. It's just from Reading them all starting to think when we do start it will take months or years to get pregnant! Anyone know what the average time it takes?

frakkinaround · 23/02/2010 12:30

HERE!

Oooh I feel all broody now I started my first conception thread.

tanmu82 · 23/02/2010 12:38

Florin ditto all you said! I'm hopping on to the other thread now, but will still pop back in now and then for chat

AmandaCooper · 23/02/2010 12:55

I think I'm probably not alone in never really being able to sit down and spend much time writing on here, let alone to write one of those monster posts you often see! If I'm not at work, or reading the thread on my phone on the train, DH is looking disapprovingly over my shoulder to make sure I'm not doing anything that might feed my baby obsession!

Anyway I've finally got a day off and some time to myself between washing machine loads, so I thought I'd chip in and say hi and observe how nice it is to see people progressing from the eternal waiting to actually TTC. I'm sure you can all relate to this: it seems like our time will never come - and so it does cheer me up to find that people who've been in the same situation are actually coming out the other side.

Ten months to go!

bebejones · 23/02/2010 13:45

10months to go for me 2! (Was supposed to be 4 but am trying not to think of it like that!!) Focusing on staying healthy & getting my body into tip top (sort of) shape!

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 23/02/2010 13:51

We can keep each other company then! Have you started that course of treatment? Isn't it boring being sensible!

On the plus side, ten months is about the amount of time it should take me to work out what all these acronyms are - like Florin says you seem to need a degree in TTC before you start. Before I came on MN I just thought that come December we'd just come off the pill - and my doctor had said that was the best plan! Now I've got a shopping list of things I will need to help me TTC and the plan is to come off the pill before December so I can start temping and charting and goodness knows what else!

bebejones · 23/02/2010 15:05

Not starting treatment til next month! Still a tiny part of me that hopes DH will turn round before I start it & say we can TTC now! Bit of a longshot though!!

I didn't know any of the 'technical' TTC stuff last time, just kind of went for it around middle of my cycle!!!

OP posts:
pipoca · 23/02/2010 15:57

aaah Florin I am soooo tempted to join your new thread... I might saunter over for a look Having another broody day today...having had a OMG, NO! day yesterday. Think i need my own shall I, shan't I ttc number2 thread!
Hope treatment goes OK next month bebejones.
xx

CrochetGirl · 23/02/2010 22:19

Pipoca, I know EXACTLY how you feel - I seem to swing between "more babies, more babies" to "how could I share myself with anyone except my son?". I work in a designer clothes shop and have got to the point where I'm asking every woman with two or more children in tow how they manage it!

AmandaCooper · 24/02/2010 07:59

Another reason for coming off the pill early to start tracking my cycle is that it will feel like I'm making some progress earlier. I've done a pretty bad job on the debt repayment front this month though, so maybe not!

OneLonelySock · 24/02/2010 18:23

Back again to haunt the ttc board as the black mood takes over again.

Still, love and hugs to all, hoping that you've got a little sunshine in your life at the moment.

tanmu82 · 24/02/2010 20:23

AmandaCooper that's what I told myself and here I am just over a month later with a.......BFP!!! - just got it this evening and am still in shock So I have disqualified myself from this board!

AmandaCooper · 24/02/2010 20:55

Good lord! How do you feel about it?

bebejones · 24/02/2010 21:31

WOW Tanmu!!!! Congrats!! Hope it all works out for you when the shock wears off!

OP posts:
Florin · 25/02/2010 07:55

Congratulations tanmu that is fab news. So excited for you.

Kayzr · 25/02/2010 08:01

Congratulations Tanmu!!!!

AmandaCooper · 25/02/2010 08:35

You'll have a beautiful baby by the time Bebe and I start trying!

pipoca · 25/02/2010 09:26

Ooooh! Congratulations tanmu !! When are you due? Now, see..that's why I'm going to be careful for a bit longer, cos that'd be me...pregnant instantaneously and right now's not great timing.
come and tell us how you feel once the shock's worn off.

tanmu82 · 25/02/2010 09:59

Thanks all! - I don't want to leave this board This is the first board I have actually been a regular on!

I think I daren't get too excited at the moment as it is still such early days. I keep looking back at the (ridiculously expensive) digital screen and feeling a bit like reality has been suspended. I've booked and app with the doctor to confirm dates etc - according to due date calclator I am due 31st Oct.

I keep thinking of all the extra money we would have had if it'd not happened so quickly, but I can't be unhappy about it because it is something I've wanted for a long time....

We are not telling family yet, so I'm glad I have MN for an outlet....Good Luck to the rest of you! I'm going to take the liberty of popping back in to say Hi now and then and to see how you're all coming along...

sorry for long post

Florin · 25/02/2010 12:15

Lovely to hear from u tanmu and that you won't be a abandoning us completly! Have u got any symptoms yet? I keep trying to symptom spot like crazy even though far to early!

tanmu82 · 25/02/2010 12:48

Thanx florin I have had really itchy skin, even though it is not actually dry, mild cramping, light headedness and dizzyness, as well as on and off nausea. I've also been really tired and getting out of breath very easily. I just put all this down to impending AF, but I took another strip test and I thought I could see a really faint (almost invisible) line. I fished the strip I'd done that morning out of the bin and there was a faint line there too. SO I did another, and the faint line appeared again, but much quicker. I got fed up of the faint, barely there lines and went and bought a digital test. Waited for Hubby and lo and behold, it said that I was unmistakably PG!

How about you? When can you test?

Poohbearsmom · 25/02/2010 16:19
