Come in, come in. The wine is mulling, the bird is stuffed and cooked. We have a huge table at which to enjoy our festive feast, and the rippling Ricky Whittle is the centrepiece, draped in berries to be removed by whatever method you choose.

A bottle of Gin and an elf-man in a box awaits each and every one of you. Just make your wish and when you undo the bow he will appear.

There's a nativity tableau in the corner, for praying to the baybee Jebus and, most importantly of all, Santa has been asked to deliver the gift of exceptional fertility, so that each and every BESH can enter the new year with a baybeeee in their tum tum.

Oh, and I've let a few cats in to aid with the 2WOOFL menkulness.

Now, let's get together and get the tree up!

Here you go lovely Camelina.

I've only just got up, but unfortunately not because of hangover. I started feeling odd last night, didn't drink. Woke up this morning with horrendous headcold and v sore throat. Nice start to the new year. Still, it can only get better.

Now where is my baybee? I specifically ordered one for the new year....

rollerbaby · 01/01/2010 15:20

Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow.

Muser · 01/01/2010 16:49

Are we all feeling human yet? Do I need to break out the bacon rolls?

I am back to feeling positive about this month as signs of FFJ have arrived. And what with being off work we can take advantage straight away .

Went out for a walk and I swear the whole world is either pregnant or sprogged. Bumps, prams and slings as far as the eye can see. WHERE'S MINE?

Medee · 01/01/2010 17:16

We had a disco-shag (like a disco-nap but without the sleep) prior to going out last night - fingers crossed it happens this cycle. Lots of people around me seem to have babies too muser.

Not really hungover today, just about to go and cook the steak pie and there is champers in the fridge.

Muser · 01/01/2010 17:43

My friend from uni who got married the week before me has just had a baby girl. And my cousin had one last week. Sister-in-law is pregnant. I have suspicions the other s-i-l is making plans.

We've not been trying that long but I still feel I'm getting left behind!

rollerbaby · 01/01/2010 18:12

It has taken me all day to feel normal again. Hairy dog over lunch helped. Can't believe I offered to cook for people today - it nearly finished me off. 2010 I will be a better person and stick to one bottle of wine per day.

Also just found out my cousin is preggers with her 3rd - she will have 3 under the age of 4. That's just showing off.

Scorpette · 01/01/2010 20:14

These heartless cahhs do it deliberately to mock BESHes, it's a scientifially-proven fact.

Possibly.

In reaction to the food-crapness of 8 days with the ILs, today I have been the fattest little piggy going weeweewee to market and have eaten: posh fish fingers, steak pud (made by Mum), hot, flaky, buttery sausage rolls and am impatiently waiting for the choc mousse to set in the fridge, which will, of course, be smothered with thick double (goat's) cream.

Of course, all of that is made with gluten-free flour/sausages, goat's butter, no sugar choc and so on but still: goody goody yum yum! And all washed down with lashings and lashings of ginger beer (Pret A Manger do one I can drink and it's fab), what-ho!

The diet can start on Monday!

When the whale crane arrives from the nearest Sea World to manoeuvre me out of bed, ahem

Well, at least next week's TTC won't be adversely affected by calorie restriction...

Scorpette · 01/01/2010 20:47

Scientifically, bumflakes.

idealcamel · 01/01/2010 21:23

Who left the doors open? David & Charlie have escaped and are being funny on C4. How am I going to get a gin now?

Muser · 01/01/2010 22:06

I've grabbed David Tennant, now he's not Dr Whoing he needs a day job. I'm sure he can get you a gin.

Is anyone due to POAS soon? I want some good thread news.

Ocarina · 02/01/2010 11:24

Oooob, David Tennant, mmmmmm. Does he make good cocktails?

A belated happy New Year to one and all, and here's to 2010 being a year of bumps and babies for all.

A question for all you expert knicker checkers, and in the general spirit of TMI. I finished my last withdrawal from pill bleed on Monday, Tuesday I would've taken my next pill but didn't. Any ideas why I was spotting blood on Thurs/Fri? - not very much but enough to notice. I can't think of any reason to worry about it, but also can't think of any reason for it happening so am wondering if you can.

Ocarina · 02/01/2010 12:28

(not sure where the b in Oooob came from, should have been Ooooh)

Muser · 02/01/2010 12:39

I figured you must have a boob obsession

Scorpette · 02/01/2010 13:09

I last took the pill in 1992, so I can't be any help to you on that front, Occy. Hope someone more useful will be along soon

I defo think we should have Tennant down here - I likes em scrawny. Although maybe we should wait a few weeks; this has been a very David Tennant Xmas, telly-wise and I'm at breaking point (and that pointless, indulgent last 15 mins of Dr Who last night has not put him in my (ladynerd) good books).

Bastard snow means we're stuck in the apartment, so have had to cancel going to see my folks and am bored shitless. Not even ovulating so can't rouse self to be up for SFF (sex for fun, not sleeping with Casper's bloke. Although between me and you... ) and TYF has a headache anyway. A MAN'S headache, which means no-one in the history of mankind has ever suffered so much. Sigh.

Better just sit here and eat crap and watch crap. Dare I just stay in my jimmyjams all day long and go back to bed tonight without getting changed?! Extreme - your judgment in this matter doesn't count, I'm afraid

Ponymum · 02/01/2010 13:29

oca I can't help on the specific panty tide pattern you describe, but I do vaguely remember that my cycle made no sense after stopping the pill. I think I basically ignored the first month as meaningless. But then I have mental period problems anyway: can't tell what's a period and what's random spotting, bonkers cycle length, etc. BUT... in my expert opinion you will shortly settle down to perfect 28 cycles, and on day 14 your tummy will light up and declare "ovulating now" and you'll wonder what the rest of us have been going on about.

scorps I nearly managed the all day jimmyjams yesterday but was thwarted. See my tale on the PESH thread.

Muser · 02/01/2010 16:48

I think I might have had something similar when I came off the pill. Wouldn't worry about it too much. I think it's just the whole hormones adjusting thing.

rollerbaby · 02/01/2010 17:23

Scorps you hard hearted wenchette. The last 15 minutes of Doctor Who last night was a sobfest. I can't believe the replacement is a 14 year old boy - and I won't say who I think he looks like. Travesty.

Today we got up, made much noise about booze free month, took vitamins and headed out for a brisk walk. Slightly waylaid by local argentian steak house and bottle of Malbec. Diet starts tomorrow.

Oca don't pay any attention to your pants. The first time I came off the pill I didn't get a bleed for 12 months and thought I had started the fricking menopause. I'm sure it will get back to normal soon enough - it all depends on the hormone strength of your pill I believe.

Muser · 02/01/2010 19:10

Can I have some violence please? I'm barely due to start my 2WOOFL and already I'm symptom spotting. I think my boobs have re-expanded and are feeling firmer. MrM agrees so it's not just my craziness. But seriously, I'm probably still in the OV period so really should be considering it a sign to keep SWI right?

I am slightly worried I'm going to collapse into full on menkulness if I get a babyfail this month. A small part of me thinks I'm a big fat failure for the mc and will never ever be able to host a baby successfully. The rational part of me knows how menkul that is. But it's not going to stop a melt down.

rollerbaby · 02/01/2010 19:32

Muser go and hoover the crumbs out of your cutlery drawer immediately and stop with your nonsense or else I will have to give you a massive trouser wedgie.

Me too roundabout ov time and having to negotiate shags over husband working his way through the sky+ Christmas recordings. I'll get mine shortly and he gets Tennant in Hamlet later. Win win.

TwinkleToes76 · 02/01/2010 19:41

Have a you-know-when-you've-been-Tangoed double slap to the face from me Muser. You HAVE NOT failed because of the MC and you WILL have a baybee one day.

I am hoping to hop back on the TTC side of things soon. I had some pinky discharge just now so looks like the MC might be starting. Does anyone know whether it is fine to start trying again straight away if you miscarry naturally (i.e. without the need for a D&C)?

I've just lit our log fire for the first time this winter, it's lovely and cosy

Muser · 02/01/2010 19:47

The nurses told me I could start trying straight away Twinkle, so you should be fine. I think sometimes they ask you to wait until you've had a period so they know when to do their dates from. But not for any better reason.

Ocarina · 02/01/2010 22:02

Have a nice friendly Glasgow kiss Muser, a baybee will indeed one day be yours.

Twinkle I'm v jealous of the log fire - our house doesn't even have a chimney (although it does have a mantlepiece despite not being able to have a fire.....)

It's good to know that post pill weirdness is normal, I just hope it doesn't last too long. Although if I were to settle straight into a 28 day cycle droid will arrive just as we go skiing so that might not be so good.

Please don't throw David Tennant out Scorps, I've not yet watched Dr Who part 2 or Hamlet so have definitely not overdosed! I'm sure I know someone whose child was at school with him or something - can't remember who or exactly what the connection was but I thought it was v exciting. (Note to self: must stop getting people's life stories mixed up in my head and try and remember who told me what)

CUNextTuesday · 03/01/2010 10:14

On one of the chat threads there is a pic of DT in the altogether with just a policeman's helmet on his head. Let's just say he ought really to have been wearing another shoe on his todger

muser I thought that too after my mc(s). I assumed my uterus was lined with vaseline. It was not true, or at least someone has now replaced it with araldite... One thing I would say from experience - yes you can go for it immediately (not before mc ended tho, as if that needed saying) but be kind to yourself. Your body is going through something very traumatic and your brain is too. I thought TTC was the very best way to block out what had gone on straight away (also a 'I will not let this defeat me' kind of ting) but despite being not badly psychologically affected - I wasn't wailing and beating my breast as such - it still knocked me for six, physically and emotionally.

What I'm trying to say is give yourself some space to come to terms with it. If you miss a month of TTC it really won't be life and death and may mean you're a bit more prepared for if the droid appears at the end of the next TTC cycle. Which, let me tell you, is utterly spirit-crushing the cycle after a mc if you have been TTC as well...

Muser · 03/01/2010 13:12

Aw, thanks for the violence folk. I have good days and bad days I think. Today is a good day. The Colin Firth Pride & Prejudice is on Watch and I'm going to see Sherlock Holmes later.

iggypiggy · 03/01/2010 14:54

Yo BESHies

How the fuck are you all????

Hello to new ones...

Can't believe I missed this talk of puppies! Our new puppy comes in March - in theory... Depending how insane a thought that is nearer the time... but has been booked for ages - due to be born today
