Thought I'd get a new thread started as we seem to have run out of space

Let's hope this one brings us all lots of luck!

Hi everyone, thanks for all being so kind. Glad I can stick around and really really hope that when time comes to move to new threads that you're all with me.

cyncan - my most significant early symptom was constant severe feelings of anxiety that I couldn't link to anything obvious that could be causing it. It's not that I am subconsciously scared of being pregnant, because I genuinly thought I WASN'T PG ... but the anxiety was there. Other stuff.... before AF was due, boobs got bigger and more sensitive generally - but this is also a normal menstrual symptom for me. What is a little different is that my nipples were extremely sensitive.... that's not usual for me. I also got a very sharp pain at some point after ovulation which I think might have been implantation, and I did get a tiny, but clear, implantation bleed. (But sharp pain and bleed did not happen last time). But honestly, apart from the anxiety which is a big fat flag to me, there weren't enough symptoms for me to obviously take as definitive proof that something was going on.

barrenbrook - I do pilates at least once a week and I have tried relexology. So expensive though... I just can't stretch to any more financially. Wish I could. It does usually help with ordinary stres, but last week when I did Pilates (still thinking I wasn't PG) it took ages for me to shake off the tension and get into it, and the usually fabulous effects wore off very very quickly.

Amberc - I am seeing a therapist - but only for very limited number of sessions because getting a psych appointment on the NHS is a bloody nightmare. I started setting this support up after my last awful pregnancy and then MC. I'm just lucky she saw me both before the BFP and after, so she has some perspective. She actually agrees that this anxiety is physiological rather than psychological. I can't face the idea of drugs - too scared. But I feel so awful ... am wondering if acupuncture would work. Have to wait until doc gets back and then see what other options I have.

It's very very odd, and I can find nothing online.... anyway....

Hello Ladies,

Would you mind if I joined you?

I had my Mirena removed today and have ordered a CBFM which should be here in the next few days

I had my Mirena for nearly the full 5 years and have had literally no menstrual symptoms at all for the whole of that time. Have no idea where I am in my cycle or if I am in fact having a cycle at all.

The removal was surprisingly painless, but was a bit at the doctor when she refused to remove it until I was having a period - it took me a good 10 mins to explain that we would be waiting a very long time if we went down that road...

I'm getting married in 2 weeks today and hoping for a HM baby - Fingers crossed!

gina84uk · 10/12/2009 16:55

hiya hopingforasunnyday
fingers crossed for you hm baby
goodluck xxx

Keziahhopes · 11/12/2009 20:31

hi hopingforasunny day - hope you have a great honeymoon and the desired for outcome!

My husband went to the doctors and due to earlier medical problems got referred for a semen analysis (is that the right term?) only problem being we miss half of our attempts of conceiving in December, lost all of Nov due to him being away with work ... frustrating, but we decided testing was more imp and thankful for quick date at fertility clinic on NHS. Then it will be me next - any idea what to ask for?

barrenbrook · 12/12/2009 08:43

Morning girls,

Welcome Hoping Best of luck for your wedding, have a fabulous day and a wonderful honeymoon. Fingers crossed for your honeymoon bean. I have added you to the list so feel free to update when you know more about your cycle!

Keziah Good luck with the testing, I'm not sure what you will need to ask for but didn't want to read and run!

Justshaggy How are you doing today? Feeling any better? Hope so.

Have a good weekend ladies, X factor finals!!!! Go Olly!!!

Hi Everyone,
I was at the hospital yesterday and got some more bad news. It seems that the drugs are working too well this month. I?ve got 4 lead follicles and 8 smaller ones! So now the risk of multiple PG is high and we may need to stop BDing this month. I?m so gutted, all this time we?ve been trying get me to OV and now it?s worked too well. There?s still a small chance we might be ok, I?ve not triggered yet and I?ve had to stop injecting, so we are hoping that one follicle will mature and the others will not get any bigger. Scan on Monday??.watch this space. I?m not sure I can cope with a month of no hope. I think the only thing that keeps me going is the ?maybe this is our month? thought. Each month is so draining emotionally and financially, I don?t want to waste a whole cycle!
Sorry for the downer girlies. I?m telling myself there?s nothing I can do, what will be will be. I think it must be beer o?clock, I?m gonna put my feet up and relax.

HopingForASunnyDay - Nice to ?meet? you. Congratulations on your wedding and I hope your TTC journey is short and the CBFM works it?s magic for you.

Shaggy - Hope you?re keeping well and your little bean has made a cosy home for itself.

Gina - Good news on the results. Are they offering any treatment or other tests?

Amber - What?s happening with you? Are you on FSH yet?

Baby Dust!!!!

barrenbrook · 13/12/2009 09:37

Vikks Are we talking twins or are we talking triplets, quads, etc etc? I guess that gives you the potential to have a whole family all at once and not have to go through all this again! Chin up, at least it's working! Much better than not working at all

Best of luck for Monday x

Brook - Wow I would love twins! It scares the shit out of me that I would have to do all this again. But the clinic say multiples are dangerous and they'll want me to stop BDing if I'm at risk. High risk of complications, MC and danger to me, but 2 would be great if you ask me! One more day to wait..... x

monkeybumsmum · 13/12/2009 22:16

Vikks Good luck for your scan - hope it brings good news... Can they not take some of the eggs away? I had my appt last wed with the specialist after my lap and he said that we should give it 6 months then go down the assisted route, so pretty much what you're doing. He said that if the injections made too many eggs they'd take them away through a needle that goes through the cervix and into your ovary. I did ask if that would affect anything else, and he said it works fine and doesn't cause any problems. Might be worth mentioning it tomorrow to see if it would be an option?
I too would love twins - after all this time and emotion trying to get pregnant (and stay that way) I would be over the moon if we had twins. Although am hoping to get pg naturally I do wonder what would happen if we did do injections and IUI... Mind you, I'd be the happiest lady in the world with a successful single pregnancy....

Have to go as dad's staying at the mo so can't be on long, but hope you're all okay and welcome to hoping - would be fab to have a hm baby, hope it works out for you!

Have been v lax but finally an update from me -

Thanks Monkey I'll ask about the egg removal. They didn't even mention that to me ! x

barrenbrook · 14/12/2009 13:47

Vikks Hope all went well with your appointment today, let us know how you got on and whether the egg situation has been resolved!!!

I am frantically knicker checking at the moment. CD24 and around now is when I've been spotting for the past few cycles. Nothing as yet, just phenomenally sore boobs! . I have another reflexology session tonight which combined with me taking extra B6 will have helped knock the spotting on the head. Fingers crossed. I'm secretly hoping there's more to the sore boobs than just a pre menstrual thing but now I've 'said' it out loud AF will probably rock up tomorrow! Does the thought of actually getting a BFP scare the crap out of anyone like it does me!

Why aren't there any Christmas smileys? We had them for Halloween but none for Christmas??!!!

I meant to say I'm hoping the reflexology and the B6 will have helped knocked the spotting on the head. Doh!

Keziahhopes · 14/12/2009 20:39

I got my CD wrong (!) so updated today's list (but can't test this month as no bd) - a frustrating wasted month here! But good news is hubby going for semen analysis at fertility unit of local hospital on 22nd and I am asking for blood tests tomorrow - hope gp agrees (am on strong antidepressants so worried about that).

Vikks - hoping today has been a successful day for you.

barrenbrooks - reflexology sounds relaxing, so hope it has duel purpose for you!
Amber - hope your IVF cycle going well for you.

HopingForASunnyDay · 14/12/2009 20:47

Hello Ladies,

Thanks so much for the welcome!

Well, AF arrived on Saturday, but unfortunately CBFM didn't. Ok, more accurately, it did arrive in that the postman put a 'sorry you were out' card through my door when I was clearly in, then when I chased him down the path, didn't actually have the package with him

Fortunately I (just) managed to stop myself screaming at him "but AF is here! that means its CD1 and I need to POAS, go and get my CBFM immediately!" Don't think he would have quite understood...

Couldn't collect it until Monday, so I guess I'll have to wait till next month now. Oh well, on the plus side though at least AF has been and will hopefully have gone by the big day - I was in two minds about getting my Mirena removed beforehand in case of a 'situation' in my ivory dress . Also could probably do without POAS and general obsessing while on HM...

Thanks very much for adding me to your list...I have a bit more info, but am unfortunately feeling like a 13 year old with her 1st period in that its anybody's guess when the next on will arrive. Oh, and despite being 30, I managed to go bright red when purchasing Tampax at the petrol station...

Hoping TTC#1 (No3 for DF), Cycle 1 CBFM, Age 30, UCL: No idea, sorry, CD 3

vikks Sorry to hear your bad news this month, hopefully next month will be the one for you. At least this means that the drugs are working for you, maybe just a dosage issue or similar?

monkeybumsmum · 14/12/2009 21:33

Hi Hoping - was it today you managed to collect the CBFM? You have until CD5 to start it up each month - you need to choose the testing time you prefer (you can test three hours either side of that iirc) and then press and hold the 'm' button at that time till it shows your cycle day. Hope I didn't just read your post wrong and misunderstand it

Vikks Any news? Hope everything went well today... Was thinking of you x

Keziah Good luck tomorrow at GP's. Hope he/she is in a helpful mood

Off to bed now as shattered. DS is ill, DH is ill (got first 'high' of this month today but no bd'ing ) and had an awful night last night with poor ds waking every hour and a half... Was like a zombie going into work this morning! DS v cute in the night though which helped. He has a little lisp and was confusing coughing with feeling sick, so was sat on my knee saying 'Mummy, thick thick'

I?ve had my scan today and it?s good news! Only one of the eggs looks like it is getting ready to release so we don?t have to stop! Yeah! It was very emotional as I was thinking the worst. I?ve just got to inject for 2 more days and then trigger myself on Wednesday night. DH better brace himself! Test day looks like it?ll be New Years Eve, now that would be an amazing start to the new year. Thanks for all the well wishes girls, it really helps.

Hoping - Don?t worry you can set your CBFM on days 1-5 of your cycle and I think on your first cycle it asks you to start POAS from CD6.

Brook - Still knicker checking? I?m with you on the whole ?scare of the BFP?. I really think I might faint and knock myself out or fall off the loo, something really ?lady like? soooo me! Seriously the first 12 weeks scare me so much, if anything happened?..I not going down that road unless I have to. Brook I so hope your AF stays well away, I?ve got everything crossed for you (but not my legs obviously)!

Vikks · 14/12/2009 21:59

Brook Whoops! Grins for you x

gina84uk · 15/12/2009 14:30

hiya iam fed up again cbfm is saying iam on cd41 just got tomorow to go untill its cd42 does that mean i need to re-program it again cause it has went over the 42day cycle,,or just leave it and press the 'm' when i start my new cycle again ,xx

cyncan · 15/12/2009 14:57

gina, press m when your cycle begins again. I didn't ovulate one month and my cycle lasted 45 days. This month, again, my cycle is going crazy I am on day 42 and no AF. My cycle is usually 35 days.

Keziahhopes · 15/12/2009 17:56

Saw gp - got the referral to gastroenterology I needed (and have been avoiding - had to go 5yrs ago!) and asked for bloo d tests, got to reception for appointment and realised that it is just at local dr's at a random date for "bloods", including thryoid (yes, helpfulfor that test I guess) - but having explained trying for a baby for nearly 18mths I had hoped for at least specific blood testing. Go back to see gp on 4th Jan - any hints how to get a very nice, usually helpful gp to do what I need? Hubby's gp did say I could go to him, but as I have a variety of medical issues would rather stay with same gp for support reasons. Am

gina - sorry about that, hope next month a really good cycle for you.
cyncan - sorry your cycle like that.. mine going crazy too, I am trying to put it down to a stressful time of year etc!

barrenbrook · 16/12/2009 16:26

vikks good news about your eggs lady, hope this month is yours

cyncan and gina sorry to hear your cycles are up the spout still. cyncan did you ovulate this month, could you be up diffed!?

keziah glad you have a date for tests, can you wait it out til the other blood test and then re stress the reasons for being there? Or will that drive you potty having to go back again. You could twist the truth slightly and say you've had advice from a friend who is a nurse or something who said you should have whatever the specific tests are you need and they told you to mention this to your dr?

I'm out again this month. Excuse my language but fooking bollocks! One good thing I suppose is I didn't spot this month, it just turned up 3 days early. I'm making an appointment in the new year for doctors too as this is just ridiculous. I am officially fed up with it all!

Keziahhopes · 16/12/2009 18:06

barren - sorry for you this month... seeing dr's was helpful for me as I now feel I am doing something about it - and AF turned up again for me today. I am going to wait till see Gp and ask specifically what he is testing for and then go armed with what I thought I needed and go from there. Know as of today I have missed this cycle for specific testing, so nothing I can do there!
