you get pregnancy symptoms ? I think with DS1 and DS2 I noticed on about day 22. Anyone noticed any earlier ? TTC DC3, currently on day 18 and must be imagining that I have tingly boobs and am incredibly hungry.... ?

You are right Claire - you count from the first day of your last period. I was referring to how many days I am into the two week wait from ovulation to AF being due

If tomorrow is day 23 of a 29 day cycle, you may well not see a positive result - the First Response early tests give an accurate result for a PERCENTAGE of people up to 6 days before your period is late, which means 5 days before AF due date (sneaky marketing I think)

So, if you test tomorrow and don't get the result you want, don't give up - your symptoms sound promising

Itchy nipples - the only time I've had this was after a miscarriage and it was my boobs returning to their non-PG state. Conception for me normally means a few hours of hot, fizzy nipples - a very strange sensation ! I'm sure that itchy is a valid symptom though.

Claire2009 · 08/07/2009 09:32

Thanks Jools, I'm 8 days into the 2ww from ovulation to AF being due....

Ahh, now I'm not sure when to test?!
I think Friday, then if nothing I'll try Sunday, then Tues.....

Have to go & get kids dressed now..

I've never got any breast/nipple symptoms before, but itchy nipples for me was always a few days before period, everyone is different though so it could be you're symptom mousemole!

nunnie · 08/07/2009 09:33

The first day of your full flow period.

nunnie · 08/07/2009 09:33

Sorry, I answered a question from the last page, didn't realise it was a 2 pager

Claire2009 · 08/07/2009 09:38

Thanks nunnie

mousemole · 08/07/2009 10:17

jools -that is such sneaky marketing isn't it ! Also, fizzy quite eaccurately describes my nipples at the moment.Claire - I think your sickness is a great indicator TBH.
Got a bad headache now - probably stressing to much about all this malarkey ! Do have a spotty back though which isn't normal for me. very excited for all of us - lets keep everything crossed

Back pain getting stronger, I really don't feel possible preg today!

mousemole · 08/07/2009 14:04

claire - it would early for backache pmt though do you think ?

OP posts:
Joolsiam · 08/07/2009 14:12

Back pain can be implantation - it was for me last time ....

mousemole · 08/07/2009 14:20

oh yes, that's true. can you remind me when implantation typically takes place ?

OP posts:
Joolsiam · 08/07/2009 14:21

I think implantation can vary - earliest would be 6DPO, but could be as late as 12DPO

Claire2009 · 08/07/2009 14:55

Ohhhh, well this is 8DPO. Perhaps it is implantation Lets hope!

Fingers crossed!

Went to the park with the kids and my 3yo Dd said "You're the best Mummy in the world!" That's a first from her and I'm so happy!!!

Louja78 · 08/07/2009 15:04

Not just me that is reading lots into every possible sign then. Am on CD18 and over the last few days had nausea, metallic taste and mood swings but they have gone today. Was obviously coming down with something. Today am just gassy. Nice.

Think I might have driven myself insane before af is due.

mousemole · 08/07/2009 15:27

Louja, come join us with all our 'symptoms' ! Does CD18 mean you are on day 18 of your cycle ? Sorry, not too good with the lingo ! Claire, what a cutie your dd is - so nice when they say nice things isn't it.

Hello all of you! Can I ask hijack and ask a question? If my last period was 16th June and I think I ovulated about 1st July, and my cycle is normally 31 days long, what's the earliest I can test and get a realistic result? I did one just now and got a not pregnant, but that's way too early ... isn't it?

mampam · 08/07/2009 15:55

I'm not an expert like the others and am new to this part of MN but I would say that YES it is a bit too early to test.

mousemole · 08/07/2009 15:55

Folkestone - hello ! I reckon the earliest you could start testing is 12th July which is when I am going to start testing too ! Going to have to take test on holiday though as go away on saturday to france ! good luck

Joolsiam · 08/07/2009 15:56

Hi

The safe answer would be 14 days from the day of ovulation, but you might get a result on an early test such as First Response perhaps 5 days before that - I'd wait and test first thing Friday morning if you really can't wait, but probably better holding out till Monday - good luck

mampam · 08/07/2009 16:00

Yes I worked out 12th July too. That's this Sunday, only 4 days away but I bet time will go really slowly for you between now and then (sorry to point out the obvious!!).

funnyoldfolkestone · 08/07/2009 16:06

Thanks so much everyone! I'm going totally mad waiting, I knew it was ridiculous to test this early really. I was incredibly lucky to get pregnant first time round with my DD and this is the first month TTC second time round and I'm feeling ridiculously stressed about it, kind of convincing myself that if I was, I'd somehow KNOW already. I am frantically trying to remember if and when I had symptoms last time and just can't! The only thing I have had is funny crampy feelings over the weekend (about 6 DPO?) but think I could easily be making that up! And I feel sick but I ALWAYS feel a bit sick (am really tired!) so that doesn't mean anything at all! This 2WW is horrible isn't it!

Louja78 · 08/07/2009 18:30

With DS I conceived in 3rd month after deciding I would struggle to get pregnant. Now in month 2 for DC2 and already going mental.

Luckily af arrived early last month as was driving myself mad.

Have started looking at cm and analysing everything. Think I should stop obsessing.... 10 days to go, think we should help each other through it.

Claire2009 · 08/07/2009 19:06

Dd, took 8-9 months of really trying.
Ds, First time, Dd was 5mths old when I found I was preg with him! (Got 1st period after Dd when she was 4mths so only had one)
First month trying for No.3 here

Funnyoldfolkestone, My last period was 15/16th-20th June, I ovulated 30th/1st July, I've a 29 day cycle, and will test Friday with a fr.
I did test yesterday and got a bfn but it was/is too early really

Lulubee · 08/07/2009 19:16

Do you all know DEFinitely what day you ovulate? I have a 29 day cycle so I'm assuming I OV somewhere around day 14/15 but can't be sure... I think I may have missed the boat this month, did the deed on day 16, is it possible that I could still have conceived? Is it worth getting one of those OP kits? Only been trying for 3 months so I'm trying to stay really relaxed about it. Have a 6 year old DS who was a huge bit of an accident - am amazed now how much thought has to go into it!!

Lulubee · 08/07/2009 19:17

Oh and am now on day 20... to early to get any symptoms I'm hoping...

Claire2009 · 08/07/2009 19:18

Lulubee, When was your last period?

I def ovulated on the 30th/1st, that was 14/15 days from 1st day of last period.

I'd say it's possible!
