thell · 18/06/2009 20:43

Excellent news!
Congratulations!!!

lucygrif · 18/06/2009 20:49

excellent nictorina!!!

I cracked and bought some cheapies from Superdrug, BFN

shyla01 · 18/06/2009 21:21

Aww lucygrif, I hate bfn's.

We all need to start lookin forward to trying again next month now

thell · 18/06/2009 21:21

Lucy, isn't it way too soon anyway?
Don't be just return to elegant poise. It never happened...

Momdeguerre · 18/06/2009 21:36

thell - love that - elegant poise!

I agree - a BFN before AF does not count!!

Lovely to have some good news - really hope this sets the precedent for next month.

I have my fertile dates (29th - 4th) and DH has been briefed ready to be debriefed!!

Am thinking positive - want loads of BFPs this month ladies!

OP posts:
thell · 18/06/2009 21:40

So what zinc-rich foods should we be sneaking into our diets?? DH has an aversion to taking supplements on principal (believes in getting all his nutrition from eating kebabs a balanced diet.
And which fish count as 'oily' then?
I'm definitely up for some evil plotting.

fairimum · 18/06/2009 21:50

oh wise 2 week waiters!! How early can you really test? and which are the best/most sensitive tests? know could well get a 'chemical' or AF still turn up etc but need to know something is going on to make me feel weird! if not must have tummy bug!

Momdeguerre · 18/06/2009 23:33

Well, I think Zinc is the super spunk ingredient - pumpkin seeds being an excellent source - I have found a fab breakfast muffin/ cake recipe which I am going to slide them into to but zinc also in dairy and wheatgerm.

Selenium is the other biggie - that is in meat, fish and eggs.Sounds very atkins but I have been planning the shopping around it - I am practically veggie so am wondering if DH is going to rumble my cunning plan!!

Reducing alcohol intake is the other - my DH is pretty good but does occasionally have weeks where he probably drinks way over his units!! He is on-call most of this month so I think we are sorted on this one too!

Fair - how many dpo are you? I think First Response is a good early test but they are very expensive - I love those ebay cheapies - great for my poas addiction but have no idea how accurate they are since so far they have all been BFN .

MaisieBoo · 19/06/2009 09:09

Congratulations to Doctorskidaddle and nictorina

Sorry for BFN's, same time same place next month?

I'm back to BDing. Also looking to improve DH's diet, think I may buy him vitamins, any suggestions anyone? I already sneak tomatoes into our meals on a regular basis and he no longer goes over his weekly units. He wears boxers anyway so that's something.

In my efforts to avoid thrush, which I sadly seem to be prone to, I have decided that natural yoghurt is the key, that and going commando at every opportunity (all week). This (not the yoghurt part) is very interesting to DH so hopefully we will get in a lot of BDing this month

lucygrif · 19/06/2009 09:24

CD32 today so technically late but was CD33 last month so could still be early. My heavy feeling has faded away, so will test Sunday a.m. if no AF as the test i did was at 6pm and not 1st thing. I chuffing hope so this time, I am really starting to lose faith and so is DH. It's been 6 years now with only one pregnancy which was ectopic.

nictorina · 19/06/2009 11:33

Hi everyone, thank you all so much for your kind congrats! I really hope you all get your BFP this month!

I'm in shock still really, excited and nervous!

Momdeguerre, I'm new to all this so no interesting OH story I'm afraid! I bought a test on the way home and told him about the faint positive and he got all excited (especially that his sperm work, as he delightfully put it!) then we did the digital test and got the result! His face was a picture! He can't wait - his sister has a little boy and he dotes on him.

AND I get out of all heavy furniture shuffling tomorrow! Woohoo!

Momdeguerre · 22/06/2009 07:59

Hi All,
How is everyone doing? We are back in the saddle so to speak! DH was really quite gutted last month and is adamant that this is our month!!

Going to be quite tricky with juggling shifts etc but hopefully we will manage to dtd on our fertile dates.

Still debating whether to use OPKs - thinking they might help with my poas addiction if nothing else!!

How are all of you?

thell · 22/06/2009 10:00

Morning MDG!

Still waiting here. I did a test yesterday morning, as I thought if a +ive showed up it would make an awesome Fathers Day Present! But it was -ive and I'm not surprised, it was too early really. Trying to return to elegant poise as if nothing happened!!

I'm not holding out much hope for this month either TBH, and wondering if an OPK might help. But I do have a digital thermometer, so may try that first this month (although trying to get the ruddy thing to work properly will probably raise my temperature somewhat!)

lusciouslady133 · 22/06/2009 10:24

MDG im CD8 today, just wishing the days away. Getting ready to start BD'ing from Weds on but think just every other day this month eg day 10, 12, 14, 16. Think maybe sometimes you can bed too much which weakens the 'swimmers'!!
Fingers crossed this is our month!

Momdeguerre · 22/06/2009 11:50

thell - pee on a stick (poas)!! Sounds like you still in with a good chance of BFP so keeping fingers crossed for you!

Luscious - CD 7 for me. Have the bd times all planned in - think we are aiming for every other day from about now to getting a positive opk and then every day? Might be a bit optimistic - we had a two day pause last month just near to ov due to shifts etc and I am sure we missed our chance.

Am thinking positive thoughts for us all - I want to see a big crop of BFPs this month!!!

BellsOnHerToes · 22/06/2009 13:06

Congratulations nictorina - fab fab fab news

I have no idea what CD I am now as after initial bang followed by disapperance AF returned full throttle on CD6!! So think I'm CD9 but I may have to get some OPKs this month to guide me

shyla01 · 22/06/2009 14:40

hello all. hope you are all well.
have no idea what cd i'm on.
just going to try an bd as much as poss this month and hope for the best.
this month WILL be the lucky one for all of us and this will be the luckiest thread erver!!

shyla01 · 22/06/2009 14:40

ever....you know what i meant lol! x

BellsOnHerToes · 22/06/2009 14:59

Liking the idea of lucky month Shyla and thank you for positive thoughts MDG

Further positive thought - apparently daylight bolsters fertility and we've got lots of it at the moment - so enjoy the long days everyone!
