liaghen, I would say that 9dpo is a little bit early to be testing...so I don't think you should think it's all over just yet. No more testing until 14dpo! Ditto Dlamis! BYM: my dh doesn't seem at all concerned that we bd mainly when I'm ovulating, apart from the odd joke about being a sperm donor

hobnob: so will you follow your consultant's advice and throw away the ovulation paraphernalia? I like my OPKs too much to discard them . Good luck with your tests/results.

new: fingers crossed it's not af. Depending on your age, you could either wait a few more months before seeing your GP or you could make an appt and say that you've been ttc for [insert lengthy number of months here]. I had a friend who did that; she had been ttc for 9mths and knowing that her GP would not refer her for tests until they'd been ttc for 2yrs, she told him that she had been ttc for that length of time and duly got a referral. In her case, she hedged her bets because she did get pg shortly afterward seeing her GP.

sweetkitty: in your case, I hope af comes knocking really soon!

Things are juicing up here atm [TMI!] so I've got my dh on standby

NewMember · 16/06/2009 20:31

I really hope AF does not arrive Nancy. I am 27 and DP is 33

NancyPreg · 16/06/2009 20:42

New - you are still very young in ttc terms so your age is very much in your favour. I'm not sure if GPs still prefer a couple to ttc for 2yrs before agreeing to refer them for tests but you could always set yourselves a deadline by which you're either pg or you see your GP? You could then relax a little bit knowing that you've got a plan and in the meantime, you could gather together some data: cycle length, ovulation day, luteal phase length and so on.

NewMember · 16/06/2009 20:45

Yea I bought the Clear Blue Fertility Monitor 3 months ago now - so thats been great getting to know my cycle etc! I was on the pill for 9 years, I am thinking that is playing a part in it taking a while. I stopped the pill last October tho, so wwould imagine its out my system now! Although the past few weeks I have had spots on my face - which I never get! Could be stress tho! lol

Ouch - who said TTC was fun

What about you?

NancyPreg · 16/06/2009 20:58

oh what about me , I've had three mc in quick succession (Oct, Feb and earlier this month) but I won't bore you with the gory details! However, we do have two dcs for which we are eternally grateful. I have just been referred to a gynaecologist (appt is in 5wk's time) so it'll be interesting to see what tests she will do/what she will discover, etc. Because we have two kids, I am fairly relaxed about ttc#3 though this could also be due to the fact that I now longer see a bfp as equating to a baby, as I did in my innocent pre-mc days.

But no more doom and gloom on this bus! This bus is bursting with fertility and we will have some graduates soon!

NewMember · 16/06/2009 21:01

We will all get there I am sure!

Positive thinking = Success !!!

sweetkitty · 16/06/2009 21:15

newmember - it took me 9 months to get pregnant the first time around I had been on the pill for 12 years, next 3 times I have been pregnant it was at first month of ttc, lucky I know but I think it takes your body a while to wake up and start things up again IYSWIM.

nancypreg - sorry to hear about your mcs, even when you have DC it's still hard, I couldn't believe how hard it was and how much it affected me, will keep everything crossed this is your month, I know what you mean I too have leart BFP does not always = baby

teenycalls · 16/06/2009 21:49

NewMember I totally feel for you as am in a similar boat, I too am TTC#1 and cycle 3, although annoyingly I am CD14 and don't think i've ovulated yet (just going on EWCM at tho mo).

I am 30 and DP is 41, we've been together 10 years and have been using withdrawal for 7 years. We both thought we'd have had an 'accident' by now but realised we'd better stop pretending we weren't bothered and start trying!

I hope AF doesn't get you, maybe you can give me some CBFM tips in a few months if I have no joy. I think we are just going to have to stay positive and try to be patient.[moral support emoticon]

tostaky · 17/06/2009 09:17

Good morning everybody!
I am constantly cramping so let's hope it is a good sign (it was for DS) and i have mild heartburn (which might be from my poor eating though).... But boobs are normal (they werent for DS)

Lots of baby dust for everybody!!!

TakeLovingChances · 17/06/2009 09:21

Does anyone else get really sore nipples mid cycle, or is it just me I am wondering if it's linked to ov?

sweetkitty · 17/06/2009 11:01

Morning everyone, anyone testing today?

I am feeling dog rough today, migraine and feeling sick, have had a good sign though think my sex drive may be coming back, it is usually zero when I am BFing, maybe it's a sign (clutching at straws emoticon?)

I don't have any signs that I am pregnant at first, don't feel any different but in some ways I just "know" I am. At OV I get ov pain and loads of EWCM and the raging horn

Cosmosis · 17/06/2009 12:17

Yes I do tlc! I never used to before being on the pill, but since coming off it they are agony around when I ovulate.

rainbowdays · 17/06/2009 13:06

Oh I will take a deep breath and step on the bus. I am not sure if this is the right bus for me by I need to just sit down anyway, so hope you don't mind me joining you.

Stats:

Rainbowdays ttc#4 Cycle1-post-MC UCL27 CD 17????
unfortunately this miscarriage is not a complete miscarriage so, I have no idea when I will be actually ttc, as I am still in the process of m/c-ing. Sorry tmi but I have retained material which means my hcg levels are not going down as they should, so I have no idea as to when I might expect to next bleed, let alone next ovulate . This is my third miscarriage in the last 7 months, so I am now going for tests to see if it is anything but old aged eggs.

sweetkitty · 17/06/2009 13:41

oh rainbowdays - so sorry to hear about your mc of course you are more than welcome to take a seat on the bus, I frequently wander up and down the aisle's dishing out tea and creamcakes and the odd glass of grapefruit juice

A warm welcome WeeTiger and Rainbowdays I have added you to today's passenger list. Apologies for any mistakes ladies, first time I have updated the bus

Any news anybody? There are 31 of us on the bus now so statistically we should get 7 or 8 BFPs this month

I am CD15 and have definite signs of ov, the dreaded 2ww approaches!

rainbowdays, so sorry to read your news...I remember you from the 'bricking it lounge' . It must be tough waiting for things to settle down, I hope that your body doesn't keep you waiting for too long. With my first mc, the baby only measured 6wks but I had no bleeding until 12wks and because it was my first mc, I had no idea that such a thing could even happen. Sometimes nature can be cruel. Find a nice cosy seat on the bus and enjoy the gentle ride...we're passing through some lovely countryside atm and the sun is shining.

Welcome WeeTiger and good luck for this month!

BellasYummyMummy · 17/06/2009 17:44

oh ill have a tea and cream cake please misskitty!!! :D

welcome rainbow, sorry to hear of your losses. it took my body 4 weeks before my PG came back negative after my last mc. i hope you arent waiting too long before you can TTC again.

welcome weetiger!

Cosmosis I came off the pill 3 months ago, didn't get sore nipples while on the pill or before I started to take it. Weird! I suppose it's one way for me to know when I'm ov!

NewMember · 17/06/2009 19:40

AF got me this morning Ladies

Gutted but NOT going to let it pull me down! I will just keep trying! Thanx to everyone who let advice! Hopefully next month for me

Oh new i am really sorry. I think we'll be on the next bus together cos another BFN this morning and af due tomorrow or Friday so would have shown up by now. Feels like any minute, keep nipping to loo to check.

I'm applauding your optimism cos tbh I'm mega pissed off now and in a really bad mood. I will take a leaf out of your book.

teenycalls · 17/06/2009 20:24

AF can be a bitch! [throttling AF emoticon]I too applaud your positive attitude NewMember You are an example to us all.

Shall we take the bus somewhere nice tomorrow ladies? Could be good for morale although sweetkitty is doing a sterling job with her cream cakes - can I have a scone with clotted cream and strawberry jam please?

DP is out on the lash tonight and I am ovulating BD'd last night though, could still be a chance I guess

liahgen · 17/06/2009 20:56
