Georgie Missed one of your posts earlier and have just been chuckling at you comments re ex-h - you have such a way with words. Don't worry about DD2, it's probably a bit of a novelty for her to have DH around (god that sounds awful - I just mean with him being off work!) also if DD1 has been at her Dad's, she's been able to monopolize him!! I'm sure it'll pass.
Fruity Your wedding venue looks just amazing - really hope you get nice weather for it. As the others have said - don't worry about the bf - Jack will be fine with formula and a happy Mummy means a happy baby. Glad you said about Huggies - we have found they leak at the top but thought we were just inept at putting them on!
So birth story (Lola and Mollie look away NOW)- bit long - but so was the labour!
Hindwaters broke Saturday at 5am and had a few twinges throughout the day, by evening mild contractions about every 10 mins. My waters broke at 10:30pm and continued to gush with contractions all of Sunday (Advice - BUY LOTS OF MATERNITY PADS) Stupidly I started to monitor them and they were a bit uncomfy so didn't get much sleep Saturday night. I phoned the hospital & they told us we would need to be seen in the evening at some point due to the waters breaking.
By about 7pm Sunday I was fed up and knackered and was desperate to sleep but couldn't - contractions were bearable (I had my TENS on by this point) but very erratic- sometimes 3/5/6/10/12 mins apart. We went in for them to check me out and I was 3cm. MW booked an induction for next day as already 24 hours since waters went, but said she doubted I would need it. Offered a sleeping draught but I decided to go home and try and sleep. Got home about midnight - went to bed and slept for about 45 mins. By this point contractions were much worse so off we go back to hospital to get some help with the pain!! By now it's 2am Monday. Are you still with me?
The midwife had another look and said "You're doing really well but I'm not going to say how far along you are as people will want to start interfering" Turns out after that I was 7cm dilated so I guess they would've wanted to intervene. I was really impressed with how much the midwives were keen to keep it simple and not too clinical - they were fantastic.
What I needed was rest so they gave me a sleeping draught and were constantly monitoring Noah hb. Slept for next 2ish hours which was weird as i would wake up in the height of a contraction and then go back to sleep. DP just watched the monitor for the start of a contraction and pressed the boost on my TENS - for 2 hours!! (Bless him)
Once I woke up things were moving along and pushing (the horrible bit) for about and hour and a half. Near the end Noah's hb was slowing and the doctors wanted to come in to intervene, I was saying "Bring on the ventouse!" MW's were saying "Come on let's beat these doctors"
Anyway my last hope of help vanished when the doctor came in, took one look and said "You don't need any help you've nearly done it" - Oh bugger!!
I would love to say that during the last push I was thinking about meeting my baby but I was just thinking - Thank goodness this is nearly over!
So at 8:52, after 2 years and 4 pregnancies Noah was born - No drugs, no gas and air (smug emoticon) no stitches. Just my trusty TENS and some great Midwives. I cried, DP cried, Noah just stared at us.
