Hey Ladies

Good luck to all of you waiting to test this weekend, i have everything crossed for you

Thanks Seanybosmummy for updating my CD.

After swearing blind i would never ever buy an OPK again as it caused me to over obsess, i'm a little embarrassed to admit I bought 21 clear blue sticks today (cost a fortune but am too busy to wait for my wee to be room temperature for cheap ebay tests and having to wait also results in me forgetting to test altogether). Anyway AF came a week early this month so i am determined to figure out my LH surge this month and then DH is going to have to do his thing every other night until AF arrives..or not I hope

Blocka · 15/04/2009 22:06

Hello donttrythis - we are almost cycle buddies and I am symptom spotting like mad. I keep looking at the tests in my bathroom and having to hold myself down.

So far my symptoms include:

  1. definate spotting a week after ovulation, which the tinternet says could be implantation
  2. a strange taste in my mouth today
  3. wind (could be from the excess food/drink over Easter, though?)

Going to do a test on Fri morning, but won't be able to tell you all the result until Sunday!!(unless I cave and do one tomorrow morning? I have some of those extra extra sensitive ones.....) I will if you will!!

seanybosmummy · 15/04/2009 22:18

Don't do it blocka lol

just kidding go right ahead and hopefully cheer us all up with a bfp!!
The spotting is defo a good sign!!!!!!!

sazlocks · 15/04/2009 22:23

hello all - I have the other half of a pack of Sainsbos tests burning a hole in my bathroom drawer. I will test this weekend at some point. Had some cramping on day 7 ish post ov and feeling unbelievably sickly for last couple days so here's hoping
good luck to all you other testers this weekend

seanybosmummy · 15/04/2009 22:25

good luck saz!

EffieGadsby · 16/04/2009 03:03

So, I did a test a few hours ago, and it was positive(!), but I don't quite believe it as the odds seem soooo stacked against it. I now can't sleep at all as I am too excited, shocked and happy (which is why I have logged on to MN as this ungodly hour - testing just before bed is clearly plain silly if you plan on getting any kip).

I've been browsing around the 'net, trying to find reasons why I might have had a false positive, as it seems so bizarre. Will call GP first thing, and hopefully get an appointment for Friday to see if it's really true. I'm keeping my fingers crossed; if anyone has fingers to spare, please keep them crossed for me!

islegrin · 16/04/2009 03:42

Effie CONGRATS!!! How exciting! You must just be floating on air. I'm so happy for you! YAY for good news!!! Keep us posted. (you are so going to crash this afternoon! - ha! but it's all worth it)

islegrin · 16/04/2009 03:50

(I hope it's ok to do this - my apologies in advance if this violates nettiquette, just let me know and I'll surrender my keyboard err, take my lashings!) I had to go back to research Effie and here are her humble beginnings:

By EffieGadsby on Wed 08-Apr-09 12:20:59

I'm going to hop on too, if that's okay. DP and I started TTC this cycle (which will probably be ending later today or tomorrow, if my cycle hasn't gone haywire again). I feel it's going to be a long process for me, as my menstrual cycle is completely unpredictable; my most recent big gap was 90 days at the beginning of the year. Test results indicate that I don't have PCOS, which seems really bizarre given my symptoms, and my thyroid function is normal, so I haven't a clue what's going on.

I've been charting my temperature since January, and I'm not convinced I'm ovulating at all. So, while the doctor considers what else I can be tested for, we'll keep at it and hope for the best. My vitals are:

TTC#1 cycle 1 UCL 33-37 CD35

Should I re-post the whole list with me on the bottom?

laurielou · 16/04/2009 08:14

effie that's brilliant news, congratulations!! Let us know how you get on with GP later.

I'm now starting day 33 - NOTHING! No AF, no feeling of AF.......no testing yet either! But also no sleep, no work, no concentration, no sanity!!

MUST WAIT UNTIL SAT!

higglepig you still with me, or have you caved? Keep us posted.

Hi to all new members, x

Wow wow wow Effie!! Big Congratulations!!

Well, I did a test this morning (stupid me) BFN. I am actually quite gutted.

I know it is far too early, but I just couldn't help myself and now I feel very down. Let this be a lesson to all of you who are thinking of testing early.

My syptoms had disappeared, but I do feel extremely sick right now. Maybe thats just the sadness.......

donttrythisathome · 16/04/2009 08:56

Effie - fingers and legs crossed for you!

Blocka - How soon could I test (day 23 today?) and any recommendations for where I could buy cheap tests? I really feel AF is coming on though....

Laurie, you are a stronger lady than I!

donttrythisathome · 16/04/2009 08:57

Oh crikey, missed Blocka's last post! Sorry Blocka!! TBH though it does seem too soon. It's a FALSE negative.

laurielou · 16/04/2009 08:58

Oh blocka I'm sorry. That really is a rotton way to start the day.

Don't be too hard on yourself for testing early, its so tempting & we've all done it.

Hope you feel better soon ,

laurielou · 16/04/2009 09:00

donttry thanks, but I don't really feel strong, just incredibly frustrated & insane. Don't really know what I'm trying to prove by waiting until Sat. Think DP & I are just thinking we'll be able to spend the day in a daze, whatever the result....

tetleytea · 16/04/2009 09:08

stephiepug · 16/04/2009 09:53

CONGRATS effie!!! wonderful to have some good news!! x

stephiepug · 16/04/2009 10:02

blocka it is early, but i also tested day's 23,24,25,26 and 27, Im so naughty!! and all BFN but which test are you using? my earlier thread said that even 2 days beofre AF due its on 84% EFFECTIVE so there is hope !!!!
Mine is due tomorrow and i have no idea i was convinced AF comming until i saw the statisics on the box, now my mind is a wondering! x

Blocka · 16/04/2009 10:08

I used some sensitive tests from ebay, they are meant to pick up 10miu and the packet says they can detect 7 days after ovulation. They were only about £5 for 10 tests(including delivery), so I am not overly confident about them.

Really pleasd you have tested every day, makes me feel better about testing so early!

Fingers crossed for you!

gemstones · 16/04/2009 10:19

Morning Ladies

BIG congrats to effie- Lovely news!

Blocka Theres still a good couple of days for those hormones to kick in so try not to feel too disheartened!

stephiepug · 16/04/2009 10:22

i used the one step testing strips from amazon, they measure 10 miu but from the reviews they are not that good! i have lots of them upstairs but after 10 mins i can see another line but it could be an evaporation line, so i really dont want to use them now,but i dont wanna wait! im such a control freak and all this is really winding me up lol, i dont know weather to laugh or cry x

Blocka · 16/04/2009 10:26

are you sure its an evaporation line? What colour is it?

gemstones · 16/04/2009 10:29

Stephiepug Can you not pop down the shop and pick up a more "reliable" make? Good luck

stephiepug · 16/04/2009 10:32
